Just noticed a wee bit of dust in your close ups. Didn't know if the build just took a long time or maybe smoke in the air.
Most probably exhaust gas from the solid fuel booster rocket on ignition.

My Lego status today is wondering why in every single City Police set the civilian car is Dark Red. Why always dark red? It contrasts the police blue nicely?
Cops tend to pull over red cars.

    LEGO related new years resolution
get more work done, including being more proactive in sorting sets I part out. Sometimes I wait until I get an order; it takes longer to fill the order and more time overall.
I often stay up too late; that's one reason why

On another note, could use #10697 and #10622 boxes and plastic tubs to store models I'm not displaying

Oh yes! The build was actually completed over several months with the engine (or what was made at the time) sitting on a shelf. I guess I forgot to dust it before taking the photos!

For those interested, this is the quick build of #31053 with a little extra scene made from the extra pieces.

One of my recent BrickLink customers wants me to ship to his work address so his wife doesn't bother him about buying LEGO. Reminds me of once when the guy in front of me at the supermarket wanted his donut on a separate receipt. I eventually decided not to worry about paypal seller protection address rules on a small order.

I would like to hear more about that. The order is ready to mail with the work address after the holiday weekend anyway.

@SumoLego and I are both heavyset, we can joke about that

reminds me of oversized beer mugs or wine glasses, or pancakes the entire width of the griddle, where you can joke you had only one.

I ran into a rare piece/color combination being expensive, relatively speaking by my standards - White Slope, Inverted 45 2 x 2 Double Convex part 3676 for $1.09 new. The only recent sets it appears in are Brick Bank and Disney Castle, so low supply, and bricklinking those increases demand. Color and shape are important for my project - I'm getting them to replace light gray ones or white regular inverted 2x2. I also want some blue ones, and they start over $2 used, but I don't want to redo the blue part of the project in another color. $1.09 is the lowest new price, I was already ordering from that seller, and the decent used prices were low quantity.

    Quite perturbed today...

I just sorted through my 30-year old childhood LEGO Space and Technic. I couldn't believe how many teeth marks there were on the parts (I never had a brick separator as a kid) and also how nearly all of the white parts had discoloured to some degree :( Please tell me that modern white LEGO fairs better? A few Technic axles were jammed solid in Technic pulleys and one blue 2x10 plate that had discoloured to a greenish hue snapped clean in two when I tried to remove a 2x2 plate from it!

    I think I need a drink now.

I'm perturbed also, @xwingpilot though for different reasons. Having to jump through hoops trying to get an order canceled by a turdish Bricklink store owner trying to charge me 14.65 to ship me 1 lb, 11 oz worth of stuff. And that's everything. I weighed sub pieces, materials and a box and added weight to be generous. And the store AIN'T in a far away zone. It's a couple of states away.

Built the Brick Bank the other day with friends. Then built the new City Service Station before adapting the tender of my Constitution Train to power functions - the tender can now push the locomotive and pull the wagons (or go for a drive all by itself). Most recently I've been sorting minifigures - they probably won't stay sorted for very long once my 5 year old returns from holiday with grandma.

Its a scene from it. There have been a few 007 specials on over Christmas, this one was looking at the various actors to play Bond.

Back to work today so nothing LEGO related.....until I popped to Sainsburys to pick up some lunch and came back with chocolate and a pair of 25% off Microfighters!

Almost finished taking apart the Lego Christmas scene I brought into work and a few other sets lying around. Still have to sort the pieces and put them away properly.

It's made me regret making something that big. Took up the 3 day weekend and my fingers are numb!

Gotten pretty handy with two brick separators though. Thinking of attaching them together with a chain so I can pretend I'm Bruce Lee with nunchucks the next time.

Need to make something soon. Been going cold turkey on opening anything new since November.

I haven't posted a LEGO status for a while, as have been busy / away over Xmas and New Year, so I'll take this opportunity to wish all Bricksetters and very Happy New Year and hope you all had a great Christmas! :-)

On the LEGO front, it has been fairly quiet... My daughters got #41116 Olivia's Exploration Car, #41302 Puppy Pampering, #41304 Puppy Treats & Tricks and #41180 Ragana's Magic Shadow Castle and we spent a pleasant couple of afternoons building them all.

So far, I have not received any LEGO for Christmas... :-( But my other half is going to buy me #10255 Assembly Square, when I can get it with extra VIP points or similar. :-)

Other than that, I built the #10220 Volkswagen T1 Camper Van that I purchased a while back and really enjoyed the build.

On that subject, I have also been converted to the Elves range, as Ragana's Castle is an excellent set and the girls really enjoyed building it. I think they'll be getting a few more sets from that theme! :-)

I completed the giant train station for the Orient Express. Doesn't look like much, as I didn't have enough window parts to complete the facade. I like to think it looks like a really strange replica of Gare de Lyon. Hmm, maybe it's time for another Bricklink order...

Enjoying the splendour of Krennic's shuttle, the latest set I just finished building.

#75156 in flight mode (with its wings folded out) has a huge wingspan.

Oooh, and of course Happy New year, best wishes for 2017 to you all!

    pps.
Is it just me, or does it take forever for other people too, for quite many of the (especially larger) photo's to load onto the page when you open this topic (or the: 'what are you building right now?' topic)?

Frantically taking down Christmas decorations (and there are a lot) as the boss didn't seem to share my enthusiasm of building the Y-Wing while they are still up.
My OCD future self won't let me just lob them in their boxes either, as it would take twice as long to put them up next year (it took me a week this year).
Have resigned myself to not building anything until the weekend. :(

Got back from my trip last night and arrived to the mess I left with LEGO sets and storage boxes laying all over the place. Also need to take apart and store the winter and xmas sets. On top of that my parents are coming to visit in 4 weeks, and REALLY need to tidy up (to put it lightly) the place. *sigh* So, no building for me until all this is done... yeah, right!

So, of course, I took the day off today and decide to sleep-in and procrastinate by catching up here @ the forum and "contemplating" all the work I should be doing instead.

Worst part? I'm sure that as soon as I decide to get my butt off the chair and take a shower, I'll be heading to the LEGO store, Target and TRU.

I guess such is the life of a lazy, commitment-less, AFOL :-)

Oh, and Happy New Year fellow bricksetters.

Storing the winter sets away. Which I should've done last night. Or the night before. But I built the Brick Bank instead. It's the first modular my oldest son has seen assembled. He was blown away. But I must resist building the Detective's Office until I actually put the winter sets away. (Yeah right.)

The street recycling dumpster must have been full last night (it wasn't today) so there have been people leaving bags of packaging recycling around it.  I spied a Star Wars advent calendar de boxed and detrayed and huffed at the sacrilege to my boyfriend, who laughed and said "well at least you're not rescuing the packaging".  But I was actually thinking about doing just that... those trays are so handy!

Those themes do have some cool stuff, and I suppose they would be especially nice for AFOLs with daughters.
I built 41180 without the obvious Elves accoutrements to finally have a big castle model for my medieval setup - now I want to actually display all that.

Soon after coming out of my dark age, I found a #7961 curbside missing only the minifigs - was your find missing anything? At another time, got a empty Doctor Who box which I use for storage.

A lot of pictures posted on the forum are only resized to a limited extend or not at all. What's not helping is that most image processing/viewing programs, whether on pc or mobile, focus on "enhancements" or "filters" only, and a basic function like resizing an image is not included.

On pc I actually use MS Paint for this purpose as it has a quick and easy resize function; on mobile I have a specific Image Resize app. Looking at the Apple/Google/MS stores, they all seem to have a basic resize app available. Most have poor interfaces, but I look past that for the 1 function they need to perform for 2 seconds.

After cropping my images, I usually resize them to 15-18%, ending up with an image 150-250KB in size, before posting it here.

I'm a bit miffed - second trip to the local Dreamland store this year to see if they had any 2017 sets. No such luck, still a lot of empty shelves, and only 3 2017 Friends sets (which they already had out in December). I want my Batman CMFs! Luckily they're only a few km away from me...

Finished building my Xmas present of the corner deli. I'm not the worlds slowest builder, I was waiting for daughter to go back to school! Problem is I am trying to do a typical January diet and building a deli means I just want to go to Costas and buy an overpriced unhealthy sandwich! Good thing I never did get the hot dog truck...

@sid3windr I didn't bother yet visiting a Maxi Toys/Intertoys/Dreamland/etc this year, as their websites still only have the 2017 Nexo Knights/Star Wars/Friends sets listed. No sign yet of City/Creator/Technic/TLBM in Benelux.
So save yourself from having to look at plastic junk (everything else apart from Lego) a 3rd time and check their website before you visit their store again ;)

@stlux I actually checked the site but hoped (ahem assumed) they might not coincide with the store content. I could go to Fun and get CMF for the same price I guess (assuming again, that they are out there already) but I got a Dreamland gift certificate so... :P

Thanks for the tip though, I'll check online first :) I think they are somewhat preparing as half of the LEGO shelves were empty...

After doing some shopping at Ikea for a couple of Linnmons (tables) to replace my current LEGO setup that uses all of my folding tables, I decided to visit the nearby LEGO store. While deciding on whether I would go over there, I realized that I had never been inside a LEGO store before. Ever. I didn't purchase anything, but it was still a good experience.

Kinda late to the party for New Years resolutions, but I think I have came up with a few:
    1) Try to earn enough money for the Assembly Square ( not sure if this is a good Idea as I don't collect Modulars.)

    2) Try to buy a MacBook. I'm soon going to college, so I need a good computer.

    3) Try not to stress a to about buying new LEGO sets. They always come out with a lot, and sometimes I just overthink which set I want.

I should be able to accomplish all of these as long as they don't make a UCS Millennium Falcon.
    ;D

P.S. Do you want to know who the best builder is? Look at the second word.

    Have a happy day everyone.
