Creator box change

Is anyone else annoyed they stopped putting the parts list on the outside of the creator boxes? That was a great feature, and I don't get why they got rid of it.

Which sets are you referring to? The new LEGO Creator Assembly Square definitely has the parts on the outside, and that's a 2017 set.

#31060 Airshow Aces, #31062 Robo Explorer #31058 Mighty Dinosaurs all no longer have the lists on them. I can't remember if #31059 Sunset Street Bike had it or not.

I thought it was just models with the "Experts" tag that showed the contents on the side.

Either way, you are able to see what parts are in which sets on brickset, or at least until the parts list become available.

All of the 3 in 1's had it. I was just handy instead of having to pull my phone out in the store and be a dork looking it up.

I suspect the change is probably the result of consumer testing. I imagine most kids and parents would barely take much notice of that sort of thing.

Obviously I can't speak for all AFOLs but I'm more likely to look at inventories online than in a shop as online inventories are easier to compare parts to rarity and parts owned etc. Also I'm the level of nerd that I don't give a damn about what random people in a shop think of my buying habits (and as most shops I tend to buy LEGO from these days have free wifi) I have no problem using my phone to check details if I really want to, though generally it's prices I'm checking not pieces ;-)

What do those boxes use the space for instead? Since the ones you mention are all smaller boxes, I wonder if space on the sides of the boxes was at a premium for displaying other info...

The best thing they were for in my opinion was for when I bought used stuff. I org the parts and check off each one I count on the package. Saves me from printing a couple of pages of color dense pages on my printer and using precious, overpriced ink from my cartridges! :)
