Visited the Lego store in Saarbrücken to pick up my 2017 calendars, and could't resist also buying some of the new 2017 sets and expanding my Christmas theme collection... I'm sure I can never have enough elves ;)

^It's this set I think. http://brickset.com/sets/40172-1/Brick-Calendar.  I saw a discussion elsewhere regarding this set on the forum.  There are pictures of the set in the thread about leaks.

Yes, the new #40172 Brick Calendar. Somebody found it yesterday in a UK Lego store and submitted a picture to The Brick Fan (see the leaks thread).
When visiting the Saarbrücken Lego store today I decided to look for it, and they had a built one on display. I liked the look of it (and the feeling of being one of the first people to buy it) so added it to my loot :)

Well, if they also have it here in the US, then I know what I'm getting for next week's Mini Batwing promo!

Ordered the Airjitzu flyers I was missing from Amazon last night.

Actually forget that, can you let me know how the A-Wing build goes? That's on my want list for next year. :-)

It's Avalor, actually. Elena of Avalor is a Disney Channel show that premiered this summer.

€141 worth of parts on Bricklink, brought as one order and then 3 additions. I'm just awaiting the crippling shipping and import fees now. :P

Had a couple things come in in the 11th hour this week. In this photo below, you will note one severely EFFED up box, which the Seller refunded nearly half of what I paid, I thought that was very, very generous. He was profusely thanked. Only cost me 37.00. The Cuckoo Cloud box looks weird because I already opened and built it...I really wanted it. WOOOT!

And this is a set I've wanted a while. Was looking for the right price. Got it. Hopefully it doesn't get re-issued before I get a chance to build it, cause then I'll have to decide whether to wait...

I've got the TIE, this and the Sandcrawler, now I have my sights set on Slave 1...

Poor packaging for shipment. Sad too, the thing was minty fresh when it shipped.

Used some of the cash I received as a gift to pick up #70901, 2x #30522 & 2 LBM CMF's. Without really feeling the packs I got Calculator Man & Lobster-Lovin' Batman.

@blogzilly....how was that packaged?  The seller would have had to crate that to prevent that kind of damage, lol.

It was sent in a crap shop at home oversized box with no support around it just some rolls of bubble wrap around the sides. The flaws in that are:

    1. Those boxes are shit to begin with.
    2. The more used they get the more shit they become, this was on its, hmmm, trip 3-4 I think.
    4. Items of this length need a box that has doubly ply, rigid cardboard, preferably virgin.
    5. If I were packing it (and I run my own eBay store where people pay top dollar for collectibles and I never skimp on shipping, in fact I use it as a selling tool) I would not let it rest against any side. I would get corner/side support and let air essentially be what protects it from any damage that might occur during a bad stack if it ended up on the bottom of someone's pile.

Here is a shot of it a little farther back showing it resting it the box and the box before I opened it.

And just because I think this matters, at least it does to me, here are some examples of how things should be wrapped when you sell them. And I just picked 4 shots I had easy access to. I have some wacky stuff I had to build with cardboard, glue, duct tape...but it takes time and probably a PDF format to explain. I have a few PDFs I made for Buyers to show them how to release their purchases, just can't find em.

Overkill? Maybe. But how else does a small shop stand out against the thousands of competing small shops and the giant e-Sellers?

This is how most boxes arrive to Hawaii. I envision every delivery person acting out their best "Ace Ventura" impression while being them to my house.

Got the following from the 30% off clearance at Target:

    - #70604 Tiger Widow Island; looks like it will go nicely with the lighthouse.
    - #31038 Changing Seasons; already had one, bought two more to have all three buildings built at once.
    - #75918 T-Rex Tracker; already had one, but there's nothing wrong with more T-Rexs... T-Rexes... T-Rexies...  more that one T-Rex!

LEGO haul - Boxing Day afternoon - Leicester Square
Lots of London buses for sale; lots of Snowglobes behind the tills for giveaways; no sign of Gingerbread Men; last Pet Shop on the shelves (but may be more in stock); London Skyline sold out, more expected Wednesday.
Spent more time in store than in queue :)

Visited my local LEGO store for the #30524 The Mini Batwing promo. Not much on sale, not much on clearance. Grabbed:

    - #70900 The Joker Balloon Escape
    - #70365 Battle Suit Axl
    - #70372 NEXO Powers pack. One pack; just curious.
    - #851345 Ninjago Playmat (on clearance, 50% off)

Afterward, stopped at Target (again) for non-LEGO business, but did the mandatory stop at the near-empty aisle and found one #75916 Dilophosaurus Ambush at 30% off. Already had one that I secured at 40% off earlier this year, but decided to grab it anyway.

My local Auchan supermarket recently started  stocking a limited range of polybags (1-2). Today they had #5002938 Stormtrooper Sergeant, so I picked up some:

Went around Walmarts and Targets; Walmart has good clearance aisles but most didn't have a good LEGO selection. The best was at a store that had the resistance transport at $45, which is a bit too high for my taste. Another store had some poly bags that I hadn't seen anyone else... Target wasn't much different and only found the TIE prototype at a decent price (never found it at 50% at Walmart).
