And I forgot, I also picked up #75087 Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter because of rule 1, I wanted Ventress, I liked the original clone wars cartoon, and had a money off voucher. Can't bring myself to pick up #75158 for Ahsoka though. Maybe after I have watched Season 2 of Rebels.

At the start of the year, I was only focussed on Star Wars, Ideas, and CMFs that I liked the look of, having only recently come out of my dark age. Fast forward to late November:
    • I now have almost as many unbuilt Star Wars sets as built ones
    • I have many more CMFs
    • I now own most of the modulars
    • The 2 current fairground sets
    • Most of the Pirates 3 theme (just need #70411 for a sensible price)
    • Some classic pirates sets I foolishly let go of as a teenager
    • And multiple bricklink parts orders for a pirate MOC.
So, I set myself 2 rules:
    1. No more lego until late next year (unless it gets marked as retiring and is on the wanted list)
    2. No Rogue One sets until I have seen the film and they are discounted.

Now, thanks to Lego's bungled Star Wars A-Wing pilot offer (it is not applied to all Stars wars sets when it should be), Tesco's 1/3 off madness, FOMO, and @vizzitor's coupon kindness I now have incoming:
I have nowhere to store these, let alone display these.... Roof is full of the sets bought earlier in the year. I may have a problem, beyond being broke.

    Just. One. More. Brick.
Glad to hear you made good use of the voucher. Also glad to hear I'm not the only one with both a major Lego addiction and a huge problem with storage and display.

On my own purchasing front, I've made a completely nostalgia fueled Dimensions purchase from Amazon this morning of #71244 Sonic, #71256 Gremlins and #71258 E.T.

I definitely have a major problem. I've played the actual game once for an hour about 3 months ago now and have completely filled a shelf in my bookshelf with Dimensions stuff.

@BillyBricks84 Did you go to the Madison one? I left 3 on the shelves. I only took what I needed for myself and LUGmates.

@brumey, we're not even playing the game, just getting the packs for minifigures & parts....my wallet is definitely a couple of degrees warmer for it, but there's only a few we need now, mostly unreleased packs. We were lucky with the latest batch, for some reason they were put up on [email protected] for ridiculous prices for about two weeks there, so I got both story packs for AU$15.99 (I just wanted the doors from the Ghostbusters one). Also picked up several Mission Impossible & Adventure Time level packs for the minifigure arms.

17 of these beauties. Now, I can't wait to get home to open them and see who else I need...

These still haven't shown up on the island. I'm hoping after the new year I can find some.
  • YodaliciousYodalicious Member Posts: 1,366
^ Only found them at one Target here so far and they were almost completely cleaned out. The hanging box was from the Batman movie, but all of the bags were Disney CMFs...

...at first glance. For whatever reason, someone had left/hidden the Batman movie ones behind the Disney ones. (Or more likely, a Target employee relocated the Disney ones from somewhere else in the store and just put them on the hangers.)

No, I went to the one in Elgin, IL. It looked like you had cleared the store out that you had visited but apparently not. The store I went to had only one left.

I was proud of myself for not buying some of the sets that had great prices but that I ultimately wasn't interested in for the parts or the sets as a whole.

Had ordered #75096 Sith Infiltrator to get it before it retired (paid mostly with VIP points, as it's RRP is ridiculous, especially in Benelux) and to qualify for #5005156 Gingerbread Man and #5004408 Rebel A-wing Pilot.
Of course TLG managed to only send me Gingerbread Man... Very happy to have managed to get it before it ran out at [email protected] EU but not nice that they still managed to forget to include the A-wing Pilot even after I had contacted them about this promo not applying correctly on their **** website.

Have contacted CS once more to get this fixed...

I am on a buying ban :(  It's expensive to submit my life story to the government in the hopes I can stay in the country.  I like this thread, I can live vicariously through you all.
*fistbump of solidarity* It's not fun, is it? In our house it's my partner; we're still working on getting evidence together to apply for his PR certificate, and after that the real (expensive) fun of the citizenship process can begin... lots of waiting, anxiety, and papers EVERYWHERE...

Indirectly, it resulted in a lot of Lego splurging this year as we expected to apply sooner than we've actually been able to, and therefore didn't make any travel plans (because we assumed his passport would be in a bureaucratic pile somewhere in the Home Office), so the holiday money went into the De-Stressing With Lego fund instead.

    Next year: restraint!!! Economising!!!

I may just have bought a lot of cut-price retiring Nexo Knights to save for those thin times... Beastmaster's Chaos Chariot, a couple of Chaos Catapults, and the Knighton Battle Blaster.

My local Tesco didn't have much of a selection on display but they did have #70349 Ruina's Lock and Roller on the shelf for £15.

It would have been rude not to pick this set up and partake of 1/3 off, especially as it's one of the few Nexo knights sets that I have on my wanted list.

And I did. eBay. 73.50 shipped. Not terrible.

Just dawned on me...I don't really have a huge amount of Star Wars LEGO. Wonder why?

    Contemplate, I must.

    Showed some restraint this week:

#60134 Fun in the park for 17,34€ (60% off RRP, Amazon.fr)
And since Bol.com sent me a 5€ voucher with no minimum spend required I went for some Nexo wave 3 stuff...

Always gotta worry about my bill. Natch.

Of course, I did a little digging, and realized there be a lot of repeats in the Star Wars line...like everything else I guess. I had a Sail Barge from 06 I guess? Gave it to my son a while back. Maybe I'll look at the one from a few years ago. I just want to get it fairly cheaply, like everything else. But aftermarket Star Wars tends to be the most expensive of all the LEGO.

Hey...I may have just answered my own question. DOH.

I love the SW theme for getting me back into LEGO, but damn that slope isn't just slippery, it's high powered suction removing every last iota of financial self control.
For years I've been trying to extricate myself from the fangs of completionism in regards to SW, and what have I achieved... well, I can proudly say that I have refrained from buying numerous polybags over the last 5-6 years.

And have refused to purchase the re-released Death Star (woot woot)

Here's what my SW display looked like back in 2010...

@bendybadger you are just the sweetest.  Thanks, the sentiment is (really really) appreciated.

@catwrangler, you are too right!  The anxiety is a terrible thing, and it's resulted in a somewhat tumultuous and disorganised household with lots of Lego, Christmas and SO MUCH PAPER everywhere.  I'm in the second half of the prior 5 years before PR.  Best of luck to you and your partner, I hope it all goes smoothly.

I will say that my next buy if I can pull the cash together in the next 2 days is the 10240 Red Five X-Wing, something I've wanted for a while but have been looking for the right price. 250 shipped has been the best I could find right now but that was the upper limit of my target price so I'll take it. I'm at 167.00 as far as funds towards the purchase. Just need to generate the rest.

Got #60051 High Speed Passenger Train from Target for $120 after Red Card and 20% off. Then went next door to Best Buy and found #30227 First Order Star Destroyer polybags for $1, picked up 10 and left a bunch - going to drop back in today to see if they restock.
  • blogzillyblogzilly Member Posts: 598
Oh, almost forgot. Added these to the haul this weekend. Though considering exchanging the train cause the box is banged up (you can't see it in the photo).

Oh yeah, but I did some soul searching on the issue and realized dust is a friend I need only to embrace...
Actually, all those sets were taking down years ago and washed by hand and boxed up. My new LEGO room is half the size, so now my sets are rotated frequently enough and I can avoid getting too friendly with dust :)

Saw all the new technic sets in a store today, but refrained from buying any, although I do like the looks of #42064...

Called into TRU to get some last-minute presents and picked myself up #75162 today.

I bought all the OT sets from Series 1 and 2 but skipped Series 3 completely. So glad TLG released another OT starfighter in Series 4. Looks great on its stand with the rest of my collection :)

I only have him thanks to @bendybadger :) BTW I need to steal him back. My elves are lonely XD

On another note exceptional Score at a garage sale.
    $40 for both #31012 AND #3843.
Not new but from what @VorpalRyu is figuring they are complete and in near new condition. The light brick even still works!! :D
I think I'm doing well at the moment, too bad our bank account doesn't seem to agree. HAHA

Right, need to revisit my earlier "Possibly last Lego purchase for 2016" statement from 2 posts up. Let's rephrase it to "Possibly last Lego purchase from TLG for 2016"...

Had already forgotten I ordered this LEGO Certified Professional set last week:

@blogzilly You can order them from the cathedral's website here. Order window opens again in January - they also ship to the US.
There's both a small (the one in my picture) and a larger 2128 pieces one available.

And you might want to start following the A Comprehensive List of LEGO Certified Professional Sets? thread ;)

Oh...just officially ordered me the 10240 X-Wing...I got the money together in the 11th hour before the dude who was selling it left for Christmas vacation. I'm excited. 250.00. Only fifty over retail on New Sealed including shipping? Oh yeahhhhh...in my world that's a bargain.
