Hi all,

Apologies for missing last weeks draw, but here we are again back to the usual draw.

This week as it is Wintermas you can win  #30028 Christmas Wreath and a #30603 Mr Freeze

Usual rules apply just answer the question and 1st 59 get a number for a chance to win.

This weeks question is "What was your favourite ever Christmas present?"

Mine was a Scalextric set with a JPS Lotus 77 car.  It was a fantastic thrill and the smell of a sort of burning that the cars would give off still reminds me of Christmas. Oh but the number of arguments it caused as it was a joint present for me and my brother. Thinking about it now makes me want a Scalextric set again.

    When I was a child I once got the 4563 freight train. Man that was just sooooo awesome. I'm still very fond of that train and still got it.

    3 years ago my wife surprised me with a pair of handmade fur trimmed bison gloves. It was one gift in my life I had absolutely no idea I was getting but couldn't have been a better gift. It's -27 degrees C here in the middle of North America today so they are as relevant today as they were when I got them. 

    Although they do make it difficult to build Lego...

    Black Monarch Castle jointly given to me and my sister. By pooling our wishlist together we got a much bigger set than my parents could've afforded otherwise. There were other great sets other years and bikes and such but that giant castle stands out in my mind as the biggest 'O Wow!' Christmas moment.

    I got my first telescope when I was 7 and it opened my eyes and imagination toward space like never before. It still stands out as one of the best I've ever been fortunate enough to receive!

    One year I got the #75021 Republic Gunship inside a clothing box. That was a nice surprise!

    Ho ho ho.

    Definitely a bike. Always wanted a Raleigh chopper but ended up with a racer which I covered many, many miles on.

    One year I got the original NES with the Power Pad, and it came with Super Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, and World Class Track Meet. I got a lot of use out of that Nintendo.

    Toyota 4 Runner. Got it in 2004. Christmas present to myself. Yeah, those commercials with idiots buying cars at Christmas? True. :o

    My best christmas present was a parakeet when I was 10. It was also the worst because it died 6 months later.

    My first lego set #590 Engine Co. No. 9. I still have it but I had to buy some of more delicate pieces that didn't survive my childhood.

    Probably my first mp3, it was so cool to be able to listen any where all of a sudden. A select few Lego sets stand out but that mp3 had a greater effect.

    A couple of years ago my wife had painstakingly obtained the last 20 volumes of the 3x3 Eyes manga series I had collected during my childhood, but never completed. Having been out of print for well over a decade and knowing their availability, I suspect she ordered them from 20 different sellers...

    From Lego when I was a kid, probably #6285 Black Seas Barracuda and #6276 Eldorado Fortress. Those cannons really added an extra dimension. Somehow both managed to survive the endless volley of cannonballs they exchanged!

    Wow, that's a tough one. But for the porpoises of this forum I'm going to say #8880 Super Car.

    Wow, good one.  Either the Mr. Freeze action figure (from 1997's Batman and Robin) - could not find that one anywhere but my mom did - or a bunch of trading cards from that movie.  I would go grocery shopping with my dad and spend my allowance every week on a pack of those cards.  One week they were missing/sold out and I was bummed.  I received like 10 packs that Christmas.

    I can't decide which one I liked the most, as each was perfect at that point in time.

    #6080 King's Castle was my best ever Christmas present. It's one of the oldest I can remember receiving, and it's probably the reason why I'm on this forum today.

    By far my most favorite gift I ever got was the G.I. Joe aircraft carrier. It was amazing. I still have it in my dad's attic.

    #6980 Galaxy Commander, never expected it, never thought I would have a flagship set (they were always for other kids). Even my dad commented about how good it was when I finished it. Either that or my Grifter XL. But the galaxy commander has stood the test of time much better than the grifter.

    My favourite christmas present was the original Kenner Slave 1.
    I loved the Falcon but that ship was something different to everything that had gone before and it got swooshed about and played with more than any of my other Star Wars toys.

    Probably had some impact on the fact that when I first got back into Lego full time I overlooked Red Five and brought Slave 1 at RRP (something I have mild regret over due to the EOL of Red Five the following year).
