It has been a day for B&P and BL today... Ordered more bally 2x2 tiles for my modular street and also some nice red parts to change the colours of some of the gondolas of my Ferris Wheel.
do you think that B&P will be close this year like it was last year?
  • HugeYellowBrickHugeYellowBrick Member Posts: 496
    Probably, yes.
  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,712
red is already by far the dominating color in my collection (after black, grey, white if you consider them colors) so I doubt I will feel the need to get more for my ferris wheel.

getting the brick bank and I should get a free santa too. my first one.

    So more Nexo Knights today:

    - #70325 Infernox Captures the Queen (needed the Queen to keep the King in line, and the set connects with #70316 Jestro's Evil Mobile, so it had to be bought).
    - #70330 Ultimate Clay
    - #70331 Ultimate Macy
    - #70332 Ultimate Aaron
    - #853515 Knights Army-Building Set (arrived from S@H today)
    - #853516 Monsters Army-Building Set (arrived from S@H today)

Want to add that on Thanksgiving week I bought an iPad (kinda big deal as ALL my devices are Microsoft) just for the LEGO apps, in particular the Merlok 2.0 game... so now I'm collecting the power shields (I know that the images can be found online, but that's no fun, expensive, but not fun).

Bought the technic claas tractor today. The first technic set I bought since coming out of dark ages. As a kid the technic sets where my favorit but somehow the new technic lego always did push me off. I didn't like that the bricks are no longer easily compatible with normal lego, and also the storys I read about friction in the mechanics where not encouraging. The "old" technic lego never had any friction no matter how complicated you made your own builds. But seeing this tractor on display in the shop and on sale pulled me over to give the new technic lego at least a try. It does look absolutely awesome and the mechanics seem very interesting. I can not wait to start building it though I should finish the brick bank first. But i am not sure I can wait for that:)

I love the military stuff, but shame Lego don't do it.

This Kazi stuff is pretty good and cheap, bought this after really enjoying building the Panzer IV.

Got a Tiger tank coming soon.

I have quite a few photos from Brick Live I would like to share, is there a limit to how many I can upload.

I had to look these up and I'm interested.
Ever tried to convert them into a Lego built model?

However, they have some blatant Lego ripoffs.

i dont think there is a lego set that is 100% like this one.
prove me wrong but it like some of the lego ones but it not 100% the same. it feel like a mix of old school police and new school police. yes it a lego clone but it not a 1 to 1 copy like some people we can name.

it the UK one that is £79.99.
so question is ware did the 40% come from?

The question might be why the USA RRP on Brickset is $59.99. An error perhaps?
Online reviews from when the set was launched earlier this year mention an $89.99 RRP as does S@H US currently:

Seems like the set was overpriced in all markets ;)

Kitchen table after opening the boxes delivered while away for work:

Most of the sets are for my two boys; either for them to build and play with or to be given as presents when invited to birthday parties. We usually stock up on smaller sets when the best deals are to be had in the run-up to St Nick's and Christmas. Most of the stuff was at least 50% off RRP as wel. So I'm not hoarding. At. All.

    Completing the Nexo Knights collection:
    #70341+ 2x#70319 as I couldn't resist £10/£12.50 prices at Asda, #70315, #70322 and #70316 off Amazon UK and a bunch of the smaller ones - #70310, #70311 and #70318.

    Birthday party buffer stock:
    - The 3 smallest volcano sets: Volcano #60120, #60121 and #60122 to mirror what the boys got from St Nicholas.
    - #60107 Fire ladder truck + #60105 Fire ATV: Classic gateway drug to get other kids hooked on LEGO...
    - 2x31032 Red Creatures: since my favourite Future Flyer #31034 was not available at the set price point I bought this other set from the what I consider a very strong line up of creator sets this year.

    - A dimensions starter set for PS3 for 25 EUR at Bol.com (30 EUR Black friday offer + a 5 EUR off voucher I'd forgotten about) + 2x the Portal 2 Dimensions set. One for me and one for my nephew who are both huge LEGO and Portal 2 fans.

    - Swooshability and dogfights around the table: #75150 A-Wing+Vader's Tie and a bunch of micro's (Tie Adv/Resistance X-wing/Wookiee gunship) for the boys.

    - Missing from the picture are another #75150 and #75103 1st Order Transporter for £40 each (Asda; still in the boot of the car at time of photo)  and the #60134 Fun in the park  for 17.74 EUR from Amazon.fr delivered today.

All relatively small sets and not at all collectible but the focus is on play in this house. And I must say I thoroughly enjoy the building sessions together with my two lads.
    cool.
mmm out of interest, can you tell us what the RRP is for all the set's you got and what the real cost you payed for them all?

Original US msrp was $79.99. TRU was having a special 40% off certain sets this weekend. So after the 5 buck email coupon it brought it to $48.99 before tax.

Thought I shouldn't bore everyone to death with prices but since you're asking:

#70314 Beast Master's Chaos Chariot £12.50/14,97€ from Asda (RRP 34,99€)
    #70319 Macy's Thunder Mace £10.00/11,98€ from Asda (RRP 19,99€)
    #70315 Clay's Rumble Blade 30,23 € from Amazon.fr (RRP 44,99€)
    #70322 Axl's Tower Carrier 40,33 € from Amazon.fr (RRP 89,99€)
    #70316 Jestro's Evil Mobile 31,61 €/£26.72 from Amazon.co.uk (RRP 59,99€)
    #70310 Knighton Battle Blaster (2x), #70311 Chaos Catapult (2x), #70318 (2x) 5,99 € each (9,99€ RRP)

    #60120 Volcano Starter Set (2x) 5,33 € (3 for 2 offer at Kruitvat.be, 9,99€ RRP)
    #60121 Volcano Exploration Truck £10.91/12,58 € (RRP 19,99€)
    #60122 Volcano Crawler £15.29/17,62 € (RRP 19,99€)

    #60107 Fire Ladder Truck 10,00 from Kruitvat.be (RRP 19,99€)
    #60105 Fire ATV 3,19 € from Kruitvat.be (RRP 5.99€)

    #31032 Red Creatures £10.53/12,13€ from Amazon.co.uk (RRP 14,99€)

    #60122 Starter Pack PS3 25€ Bol.com (RRP 99,99€)
    #71203 Portal 2 Level Pack 15,00€ Carrefour 2-for-1 (RRP 29,99€)
    #75150 Vader's TIE Advanced vs. A-wing 70,28€ from Amazon.fr (RRP 109,99€)
    #75150 Vader's TIE Advanced vs. A-wing £40.00€/47,91€ from Asda (RRP 109,99€)
#75103 First Order Transporter £40.00€/47,91€ from Asda (RRP 99,99€)

#60134 Fun in the Park 17,91€ from Amazon.fr (RRP 44,99€)

Thought is was a good occasion to start keeping track of what sets we own and what price these were bought for. Ultimately the price in euro matters to me; RRP's are the ones from Lego S@H for Benelux so a bit on the high side. Lego and their market segmentation...

Just bought myself from the Mosaic machine at Leicester Square after realising that I could still get a snow globe as well as the gingerbread man. Not convinced about the quality of the picture but rather bizarrely the image that gets emailed out looks far more accurate than the print out.

@starwars4ever Didn't take any pictures in the shop of the other sets, if that's what you mean. I reasoned that as official pictures for all sets they had instore are already available, taking extra pictures would not add anything. Might be wrong though ;)

Posts: "I really shouldn't buy any more Lego this year, especially not big stuff..."

Two hours later: um... I kept to the second part of that self-admonition, at least? I have just purchased two #70311, a #70310 and a #70314 in Tesco's sale. If you're into army building I heartily recommend buying multiples of #70311; £3.31 for two minifigs (one from each faction) plus a catapult, with some useful pieces in the first year villain colourscheme, is an absolute bargain.

At least I used a voucher code to get 500 extra Clubcard points, and I finally bought that cordless vacuum cleaner we've been needing for ages...

A retired SW set (#75050), a current SW set (#75106) and a SW set from the future (#75168). I have brought balance to the force?
Also a 3rd #40223 Snowglobe TLG sent me to compensate for an earlier one where the box was partially smashed. And some random Friends polybags :)

^Something tells me you and I did not shop at the same Farm and Fleet today, otherwise I don't think I would have been able to get a copy of #75157

I also stopped at Target and got #76057 Bridge Battle and #41175 Elves' Lava Cave. The CS person had no problem price matching with Target's website, but when I wanted to use the $25 off $100 coupon, she said she couldn't include that because I had matched the online price. I told her that if I ordered online for store pickup, the coupon would apply. She confirmed that would work, so I asked her to put the sets aside for a moment.

Ten minutes later, my online order had gone through from my phone. I showed her the receipt and she said we would have to wait on the back room to fulfill the order, which could be awhile. I figured maybe we should ask someone else about this, so the manager came over and got everything sorted so I wouldn't have to wait possibly a few hours for items that were two feet away.

Anyway, for two sets that have a pre-tax RRP of $140, I was able to get them for $75.48 before tax (46% off). I figure it was worth the wait.
