getting the brick bank and I should get a free santa too. my first one.
- #70325 Infernox Captures the Queen (needed the Queen to keep the King in line, and the set connects with #70316 Jestro's Evil Mobile, so it had to be bought).
- #70330 Ultimate Clay
- #70331 Ultimate Macy
- #70332 Ultimate Aaron
- #853515 Knights Army-Building Set (arrived from S@H today)
- #853516 Monsters Army-Building Set (arrived from S@H today)
Want to add that on Thanksgiving week I bought an iPad (kinda big deal as ALL my devices are Microsoft) just for the LEGO apps, in particular the Merlok 2.0 game... so now I'm collecting the power shields (I know that the images can be found online, but that's no fun, expensive, but not fun).
LEGO #42038 "Arctic Truck"
@ £29.99 (50% off)
this is a RETIRED PRODUCT on lego.com
i have no idea if i will ever get this item.
this is a shot in the dark will it ever turn up order.
lets wait and see.
Just bought and built a Kazi M1 Abrhams tank.=, only 40.00 GBP
Would like to upload some photos, cant figure it out anyone help ?
Got some photos of Brick Live from NEC Birmingham would like to post as well.
I love the military stuff, but shame Lego don't do it.
This Kazi stuff is pretty good and cheap, bought this after really enjoying building the Panzer IV.
Got a Tiger tank coming soon.
I have quite a few photos from Brick Live I would like to share, is there a limit to how many I can upload.
Meanwhile, this weeks haul is a little...excessive. Amazonian sales, eBay finds and dumb luck have me buying more than usual of late. But I also got rid of some stuff (non LEGO collectibles) so I've got the discretionary right now. ;)
The Naboo Starfighter was in the shot from last weeks stuff. I thought I grabbed the TIE Prototype off the 'integration shelf' (where sets come in to get filed into Ze Collection), but didn't. But the TIE was what I got this week. And I opened and built one of the GS sets already, so it's not in the pic, can't recall the name.
This will probably be it for a while unless I sell something else before Christmas.
Ever tried to convert them into a Lego built model?
However, they have some blatant Lego ripoffs.
Case in point:
i dont think there is a lego set that is 100% like this one.
prove me wrong but it like some of the lego ones but it not 100% the same. it feel like a mix of old school police and new school police. yes it a lego clone but it not a 1 to 1 copy like some people we can name.
it the UK one that is £79.99.
so question is ware did the 40% come from?
Most of the sets are for my two boys; either for them to build and play with or to be given as presents when invited to birthday parties. We usually stock up on smaller sets when the best deals are to be had in the run-up to St Nick's and Christmas. Most of the stuff was at least 50% off RRP as wel. So I'm not hoarding. At. All.
Completing the Nexo Knights collection:
#70341+ 2x#70319 as I couldn't resist £10/£12.50 prices at Asda, #70315, #70322 and #70316 off Amazon UK and a bunch of the smaller ones - #70310, #70311 and #70318.
Birthday party buffer stock:
- The 3 smallest volcano sets: Volcano #60120, #60121 and #60122 to mirror what the boys got from St Nicholas.
- #60107 Fire ladder truck + #60105 Fire ATV: Classic gateway drug to get other kids hooked on LEGO...
- 2x31032 Red Creatures: since my favourite Future Flyer #31034 was not available at the set price point I bought this other set from the what I consider a very strong line up of creator sets this year.
- A dimensions starter set for PS3 for 25 EUR at Bol.com (30 EUR Black friday offer + a 5 EUR off voucher I'd forgotten about) + 2x the Portal 2 Dimensions set. One for me and one for my nephew who are both huge LEGO and Portal 2 fans.
- Swooshability and dogfights around the table: #75150 A-Wing+Vader's Tie and a bunch of micro's (Tie Adv/Resistance X-wing/Wookiee gunship) for the boys.
- Missing from the picture are another #75150 and #75103 1st Order Transporter for £40 each (Asda; still in the boot of the car at time of photo) and the #60134 Fun in the park for 17.74 EUR from Amazon.fr delivered today.
All relatively small sets and not at all collectible but the focus is on play in this house. And I must say I thoroughly enjoy the building sessions together with my two lads.
Online reviews from when the set was launched earlier this year mention an $89.99 RRP as does S@H US currently:
Seems like the set was overpriced in all markets ;)
mmm out of interest, can you tell us what the RRP is for all the set's you got and what the real cost you payed for them all?
And the random bricks I ordered to qualify for said snowglobes ;)
Thought is was a good occasion to start keeping track of what sets we own and what price these were bought for. Ultimately the price in euro matters to me; RRP's are the ones from Lego S@H for Benelux so a bit on the high side. Lego and their market segmentation...
my dam brain keeps reading buying as building.
Amazon UK sometimes has the book on special for £5 if that helps.
Have put Yoda's Starfighter together now and will post a picture in the What are you building right now? thread.
#70603 RRP £24.99 Payed £15.66, Saved 37.30% off RRP.
#75152 RRP £29.99 Payed £18.80, Saved 37.30% off RRP.
#75155 RRP £69.99 Payed £41.69. Saved 40.43% off RRP.
and now i have to stop looking at lego set's again. until after christmas!
well until after new-year if no one gives me cash as a gift.
yes TESCO have good deal's on take a look.
Two hours later: um... I kept to the second part of that self-admonition, at least? I have just purchased two #70311, a #70310 and a #70314 in Tesco's sale. If you're into army building I heartily recommend buying multiples of #70311; £3.31 for two minifigs (one from each faction) plus a catapult, with some useful pieces in the first year villain colourscheme, is an absolute bargain.
At least I used a voucher code to get 500 extra Clubcard points, and I finally bought that cordless vacuum cleaner we've been needing for ages...
Also a 3rd #40223 Snowglobe TLG sent me to compensate for an earlier one where the box was partially smashed. And some random Friends polybags :)
I also stopped at Target and got #76057 Bridge Battle and #41175 Elves' Lava Cave. The CS person had no problem price matching with Target's website, but when I wanted to use the $25 off $100 coupon, she said she couldn't include that because I had matched the online price. I told her that if I ordered online for store pickup, the coupon would apply. She confirmed that would work, so I asked her to put the sets aside for a moment.
Ten minutes later, my online order had gone through from my phone. I showed her the receipt and she said we would have to wait on the back room to fulfill the order, which could be awhile. I figured maybe we should ask someone else about this, so the manager came over and got everything sorted so I wouldn't have to wait possibly a few hours for items that were two feet away.
Anyway, for two sets that have a pre-tax RRP of $140, I was able to get them for $75.48 before tax (46% off). I figure it was worth the wait.
- #70338 Ultimate General Magmar: This completes my Ultimate Nexo Knights collection.
- #10693 Creative Supplement: 20% off at Target; my very first Classic box. Looking forward to build the "other" Yellow Submarine.
- #79106 Cavalry Builder Set and #79107 Comanche Camp: Arrived from eBay today; this completes my Lone Ranger collection.
- 7 The LEGO Batman Movie CMF minifigures: Series completed!
