@stlux I get a bit jealous too, then I remember I'm not into Christmas that much and it goes away haha

@Yodalicious I'd rather have more Bats than IMs...I think it has to do with the cape.

I admire your willpower! Unfortunately it has been proven over and over again that when it comes to Lego, I have none... :(

Received my order for the #30601 Scooby-Doo polybag today to now really really complete the theme. Unless I decide I consider the Haunted Hollywood movie as part of the theme and need to get that as well...
Oh who am I kidding, no way I have the willpower to refrain from buying the blu-ray...
  • josekaleljosekalel Member Posts: 683
@stlux it's not about willpower, it's more about me not really caring about Christmas themed stuff that much. Plus, I am not in that AFOL stage where I get sets even if I don't like the themes (no offense to anyone), and also the fact that I do not have much disposable income anymore.

Same here. Love Lego but Christmas theme holds no real interest for me... well except being able to sell stuff on.

Walmart didn't have much, #60072 for less than $7, and saw #40125 for $9.84...

Stopped by my local LEGO store last night and (finally) grabbed #71006 The Simpsons House and one more Snowglobe :-) Used my points to pay for it.

Also got the free, coupon-less calendar. I guess I should grab a set of Prismacolor colored pencils before the end of the year ;-)

Just used the Nectar points (converted into Ebay vouchers) I've been stacking up this year to order Clay's Rumble Blade. I'd been holding out to put them towards a Fortrex, but a couple of auctions during the time the Fortrex was going fairly cheap didn't work out, so I decided to pick up a soon-to-retire set I know I'd kick myself if I missed out on... only 35p with all the vouchers taken into account! :)

I bought a Fortrex!!! The Tesco 3-for-2 hath given and the Tesco 3-for-2 hath taken away (from my bank account), but I didn't get silly with the amount of money I spent and I'm pleased with how it averaged out. As well as the Fortrex, I'm getting Axl's Tower Carrier and Ghostbusters Ecto-1 & 2, and adding them to the stash of sets I'll dole out to myself during 2017, when, I expect to be buying very little Lego due to other expenses.

Just ordered a VW #10252 and will get another free snow globe. Wanted one of these bugs for a while, and a recent complaint to Lego CS about a PAB order that never arrived saw me get 500 vip points for an apology. That coupled with a £5 off voucher from a kind soul on the forum mean that 10252 and the snow globe cost me £40. And i may sell on the snow globe to reduce the price of the VW more... all in all you have to say that Lego CS are ace.

Caved and bought the Battle for Takodana or however its spelled for $35 on Amazon. The minifigs alone are worth that much and almost all the bricks are good for MOCs.

Having said 'we will never do star wars lego' (even though I'm a total Star Wars film addict) guess what I've just bought for Christmas? !!

Took the kids round toys r us to write their Christmas lists and the 6 year old was engrossed in it so I've bought some battle packs in the 3 for 2 and I just know that's opened the flood gates and my wallet for 2017!

    8 CMF S15 - 4 Shark and 4 Frightening Knight
Was in the Titus Avenue Wegmans, rarely there anymore and can't get S15 at Target (so I'm not missing out on Target discounts)
Shark is the only S15 fig still worth it for resale at MSRP. I want Frightening Knight for army building and it's not available much cheaper online.
Opened but complete case, and I only found 3 Shark. It's easy to find and I double checked. Maybe it's a collation error, maybe TLG change the collation. I found 1 in a nearly finished case from another shelf.

^ This inspired me to finally break down and buy myself the Batman from the Tumbler. It's the last of the "recent" ones I need. I've waited long enough. Merry Christmas to me.

Had to stop buying Lego this week until Dec 25 as my wife was getting unhappy that I was "making her life difficult by buying so much Lego and complicating her search for Christmas presents".
    1. I would be happy with a gift card
    2. I'd be happy with buying something myself, using her credit card if she'd insist, and for her to wrap it
    3. I have 663 items on my Amazon wish lists, of which only a handful are Lego related...
However apparently none of the above options are good enough, so being a good husband I'll just have to refrain from buying (a lot of) Lego in the next 3 weeks.

Didn't prevent me from getting the below print from the talented @Catanas, as I'm pretty sure my wife is not getting me this for Christmas ;)

Lego Batman is the best Batman!
Why do wives and many other family members (some friends too) have such a fear or aversion to use online checklists to get us what we want for Christmas? I tell folks all the time to use Wish Lists or come here and check Wanted Lists to see what I want.

You would think spouses, of ALL people (with the BFD the bridal registry is when the wedding is being maneuvered, I mean planned) would "get it".

To be fair to my better half, the main reason she doesn't buy my Lego herself is that she knows I can usually get it cheaper at some point or another.
I guess I'm one of the lucky ones where Lego is concerned as the boss is quite happy to give me a budget and get what I want over a period of time, as long as she gets to wrap it up and give it to me for Christmas.

Not breaking my promise to my wife yet of not buying Lego for the next 3 weeks, but TLG's CS is shipping me an extra snowglobe after I complained that one of them arrived partially crushed. First time I had a TLG parcel arrive partially damaged, even though the box was filled with airbags. The box of #40223 seems a bit more flimsy than usual though. Fortunately Lego CS saved the day!

^ It is a flimsy box - opening it nearly ripped the side on mine, until I noticed how thin the cardboard was and became extra careful.

I noticed that the star wars advent calendar has now sold out, luckily I managed to get one. I have just bought a 2015 one as well, does anyone know how far back they started selling star wars advent calendars ? is it just the last 2 so far ?

That blue car looks like one from a City set I built recently. Damn what was it??? The car might have been a towed car. Crap I can't remember but it was a second vehicle.

Never bought the entire set. Got The Joker from it a while ago. I very, VERY rarely buy sets that don't conform to the minifig world. In fact, the only 2 I've purchased since coming out of my dark ages were Architecture sets and that was because I visited the real locations on a vacation.

That's a problem with gift giving in general, particularly for hobby items - that the recipient is likely to know the market and their own collection better. Heck, it's a problem with society in general that people are often unwilling to be practical.

Check the invoice when it gets sent to you. I placed an order which dropped below £60 using the free catalog voucher (down to £56.78). The basket clearly showed the Snowglobe still there but it was dropped from the order! I'm still waiting for customer services to sort the issue out! Lots of silence so far :(

Thanks to a member of the forum (who I won't name) I now own a second modular Pet Shop and a Cuusoo BTTF DeLorean, which I didn't buy first time around for some reason.

Also now own the DK Ninjago Book with Sensei Wu figure, and from Sainsburys the off-road 4x4 in the city line.

i should be ok. it's the VIP points that drop the order to under £60.
at this time it still showing on my "ORDER STATUS". and i am keeping a close eye on it.
if it do vanish. i will be kicking up a stink like no one has ever seen before.

on my e-mail i got, the prices show as 55.61 for the toy shop and 7.87 for Santa.
that come to 63.48 then VIP is removed. so i should be ok.

i will keep a close eye on it. if it show up ok then it give are 1 more point of info to work out if it the over all Price before or after VIP that is the cut off.

@SeanTheCollector, odd, never happened to me, I dropped the #75105 to less than half price with VIP points when I ordered it, still got free shipping, same with another order, VIP points reduced my payable figure to $85, the free gift with purchase was $90 spend, still got my FGWT... The only issue I've had with [email protected] is they cancelled my #21305 order.

I have said a couple of times here that I don't care about the Nexo Knights theme. But this keeps happening:

    That's today's purchase.

Bought #70324 Merlok's Library 2.0 back in October followed by #70317 The Fortrex (hey! they connect with each other; I had to!). In November got #70316 Jestro's Evil Mobile because, well, Jestro, followed by #70321 General Magmar's Siege Machine of Doom.

Oh, and 10 minutes ago ordered #70323 Jestro's Volcano Lair on Amazon (21% off) *sigh*

I just received my second LESTER minifig! The one on the left, I won at the London store opening. The one on the right is actually a reproduction purchased on eBay. The parts are real LEGO parts but the printing is custom. However, I can't tell them apart!! What I can tell apart is the price difference since I only paid £18 for the reproduction!
