Its something one doesn't consider when one starts out the reintegration process by building small LEGO Dimensions sets and keeping them next to a TV in a closed off room. But as my passion for the lifestyle grew, so did the space needed to explore it. Then I realized that my worlds were colliding. I was building a Modular Building one time and Bennett, that's my son, he had an aggressive episode and he hurled it. I had to basically start over.
The way I built, mainly when I was the main adult around, changed a bit after that. I had to be sure to build in stages in those circumstances, and prep beforehand in a way so that I could move the space quickly and efficiently out of the way with minimal spillage and attend to him as fast as I could. It didn't always have to be small items, that depended greatly on his vibe, which I am keyed into pretty well. I would and do risk bigger items around him if he seems more calm.
This is an example of that. I posted it on my Instagram feed a while back. But it's the kind of thing I have to do when there is a possibility of Bennett becoming aggressive.
do try to look on the bright side when I can. Hey, at least I can build some stuff. At least he is only having around one episode each night, maybe 2 during weekend days, and while they are intense, I'm learning some things from this go round that are de-escalating them more quickly. And...at least he is alive (had a brain tumor removed at 21 months), hasn't put himself or anyone else in the hospital with these Hulk-outs, and he still lives with us (he is 9 years old). Any parent will understand...fear of maybe losing your kid, well, forever, or to the system, any system (unless it's LEGO! :) ), is a tangible thing that no parent wants to face ever. And we haven't. I drop to my knees daily and am thankful for that, believe me.

Back to it...I did build something Christmasy last night...something small...it was fun. I think these little vignette sets are delightful, I like them way more than this year's Holiday sets
I like building these sets as it's generally the only time I get to build over the Christmas period due to every other flat surface it the place having some kind of decoration on it.
I do have the Christmas train, set up round the base of our coffee table in our lounge and will be adding some of the same lights pictured below round the perimeter of the track just to give it a bit of sparkle while it's running as it's the only place that isn't very well lit (we don't have the main light on in December as it's mostly bright enough with all the Christmas lights on).:

Can't imagine what it's like in your situation but if there was ever a place full of friendly people who don't mind others having the occasional rant, this forum is it.
^^ Winter Cul-de-sac! Good term. I do love that big Christmas tree - wish it was in the Workshop set. I'm going to have to get started on my other Chrimbo sets after seeing all these - it'll be the first year I'll have opened them all so should look nice hopefully.
I forgot about that elves (without the capital E) add-on to the workshop - will crack that one open this year!
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ... have been looking for it over a year just to get a reasonable price! did exchange emails with the 75 year old seller for over 1 month. got it for 50€ in the end! so happy!
Looks quite atmospheric with only the track lights on.

#10249 maybe a redo of a older set. but it don't change the point that it looks awesome. i love that tree. wish there was a way to lock the little light in to a on mode with out having to hold it with your finger.
Put this together couple nights back. Made me hungry while building for some odd reason. Ate some cookies.

Was gonna post a pic of what I built last night but I've clogged this page like a dense turd in a small toilet and so...I'll just tell ya. Started building #4203 Excavator Transporter but realized I misplaced the large train car piece. How could I do that? I'll explain later. But I did build the Excavator and am now looking.
BTW...I love the Transporter trucks. I think I've built 6-7 of them. I dunno why they appeal to me.
