    Damn! I was ordering #75038 from Walmart and it started dropping stock while filling it out and then went out of stock right when I hit confirm.
    Then Target dropped the train station #60050, which was online only. It went unavailable then was removed from website while I was on the phone with them. No idea if they plan to add it back later or if it's no longer being sold by Target.

    Nothing special, just looked as sale items for LEGO at target.com on Sunday. It is possible that prices changed as some were changing on Sunday though (or items sold out at Target.com).

    @YogaFett2
    Target.com has better deals than their stores. The clerk said I could only price match one of an item per day. That's not so hard with so much to choose from - got one each #70600, #70312, #41174, #41180, #41068, #41172 and 6 #30474.
    The #41172 is a Christmas gift for a 7 year old cousin; it's similar value to the DUPLO I got younger cousins and goes with other Elves sets I got her before.
    Part out value of #70600 is more like 2.66x, still near the top of the list, but the minifig prices went down a bit and I listed some of the regular pieces below average.

    For what I can tell, in store is 20% off RRP, while some items on the website are 36% (20% over 20%).

    The Target store by the office also had the Ghost Rider set at $15.99, so I ordered it on the website with pickup at store... $12.79.

    Lucky there are 5 targets within my daily commute, so I just found one that had all the sets I wanted and did a store pickup from the website.

    I went to TRU and made them price match the Ghost Rider set for me,which was about 50% discount from their shelf price. They refer to me as "the Lego guy who price matches everything". $12.79 is a great price for that set.

    It's great being known as "the LEGO guy" amongst the community. Whenever the subject comes up in conversation, my wife and pre-teen daughter, both let out a collective sigh, and walk away.

     Do target stores price match their online deals?
  • krankkrank USMember Posts: 26
    Target stores and target.com are actually competing against each other... So always check the target.com, target store, and target app prices as all 3 can differ.
    You can use price match to ensure you get the lowest price. However, you can't apply cartwheel against an item you price match if you're relying on a cartwheel coupon.
    I don't like waiting for shipping, so I just go to the store, pickup the item(s), take it directly to customer service then price match and checkout there. Note that you have 14 days to price match, so you can even bring a receipt in and apply it afterwards (should always check other deals are still active that were applied at the time of purchase or might not be worth adjusting).
  • krankkrank USMember Posts: 26
    For example #75038 was $35.99 on target.com but was $33.xx on target app couple days ago (changed now).
    Red card also gives you 90 days to return items (apart from the 5% discount), which can be nice if you're wanting to play it safe but unsure if a better deal is around the corner.
    Another tip: if you have a baby registry you can use it for Lego in store (not online) for another 15% off.

     Do target stores price match their online deals?
    Depends, sometimes yes sometimes no.  From my experience the "policy" is they won't if out of stock on line.   The only thing for sure is there will be a bunch of double talking bs involved, lol

    @JooTog @ryjay Went to one today and the customer service man did it without a flinch. I asked if someone already did it with Lego stuff today and he said he does it all day lol.

    It is the first day of the 10 days of deals at Target.  Text PLAY to 827438 to have the coupon delivered to your phone.  Coupon excludes LEGO, Cards Against Humanity, Joking Hazard game and Hoverboards.

    ....and the hot dog cart is down to $19.19

    If lego has taught us anything during 2016,  it is to never buy early...everything will be at least 20% within weeks.

    Actually I'd say that hotdog one is about as low as target will make it unless you get very lucky. At $19.19 that's 20% mark down plus a 20% sale (36% off RRP). That's as good as it usually gets with target sales unless it's some special discount or you find it in clearance or manage to stack some other coupon/discount with it.
    With red card that's already a 39.2% discount (or 45.28% if target employee too).

    I know this sounds boring in comparison but green baseplates are $6.39 in store. If you go through as many as we do (44 plates of ballasted train track later) this is almost as exciting as Trader Joe's having puff pastry. What? Some of us have other interests.

    @Jenni I just got 36 of them to augment my winter village so the base plate being on sale was the best part for me as well.

    @Rakul 36?! That is so good to know for when my husband asks about my dozen :). I'm getting some in LUGbulk but it's never enough. Shame the tan ones aren't on sale but nice that the stores round here stocked up, I've never seen so many on the shelf.

    Got the Propeller Plane for $11 and Carbon Freezing Chamber for $16. Good times.

    Just noticed this today, if your GPS is on on your phone and you walk into Target you cant access target.com and search for lego.  You can only access target.com/mobile and lego is "not found" .  Turn off GPS and then can access target.com.  I also deleted cartwheel ap which wants the GPS on.

    Discovered this because my daughter wanted the hot dog van at the $23.99 in store, but I told her it was $19.19 on line.  Tried pulling it up to price match and couldn't..."Lego Friends sets not found", nor Lego Star Wars.   Hmmmmm.......

    @ryjay Yeah they also detect their wifi to do stuff too. e.g. my wife always had trouble accessing target site in the store unless she switches from phone network to target wifi then it works. When she leaves it works on phone network again. Didn't happen for my phone though.

    The #30474 reindeer poly is free with $24.99 purchase starting tomorrow (see ad). I'll post this over on the Polys in the Wild thread, too, since I know folks were coming up empty handed.

     I had them price match their online price. For a moment though their site was acting up on my phone. I just closed the page and google searched the sets again and it was fine after.

    I have GPS turned off on my phone anyway - even if not worried about spying, it uses battery.
    Last day if the say, had to go on principle even though today's weather sucked. Got #41118 , #41172 , #41174 , #70312 , #70600
    The clerk was slow about doing the price match. Why can't they just make the store and website prices the same in the first place? Are they hoping people won't know or won't bother.
    Having to load up the redcard debit card first adds to the running around.
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Rochester, NYMember Posts: 1,861
    There have been times where I bought a set on sale only to see it on an bigger sale later. Many of these were Friends sets. I didn't have budget space for amusement park anyway.

    On November 13th, I ordered a 75150 TIE/A-Wing through Target.com. It arrived at my apartment on November 16. The box was severely dented and the flap had obviously been re-taped. Bags 1 and 4 (the ones with minifigs) were missing. Four days later and twice contacting customer support, I still don't have the return label I was promised. They won't ship a replacement until they receive the original one.

    I am furious.

    I thought one could take such items into a store to get their money back, or do stores only handle in store purchases?

    It looks like I'm going to have to go to the nearest store location, which is a hassle for me to get to. It's completely unacceptable that the return shipping service would be so inept that they can't even handle sending me one e-mail.

    As long as it's sold in-store, you can return it.  I bought a Ninjago Lloyd Green Dragon set along with the SW Sandcrawler a couple weeks ago and the Sandcrawler crushed the smaller set in shipping.  I took it into Target and exchanged it for a brand new box.  No questions asked.
  • GIR3691GIR3691 Member Posts: 658
    I was able to exchange it in store. Still annoyed that their online return is so worthless. Wouldn't have had to waste 90 minutes of my day if they just sent the stupid return label.

    Until the 23rd (the day before Thanksgiving), free #30447 Reindeer with a $24.99 or more set
    Target.com has a #60090 with a >=$34.99 set instead.

    Can it be combined with price match and can someone get small sets adding up to $25? That's what I did with a similar offer for #30350 and #30396.

    These sets just above $24.99 are already good deals for parting out:
    #70315 is $25.59 online, part out value about $63.
    #41067 is $39.99 part value $89

    * 30447 is Captain America's Motorcycle, Reindeer is #30474

    Service desk clerk couldn't find any, but I saw one out of place on the shelves and got that with a 41167.
    Overheard electronics desk staff talking about the promo, I'll talk to them tomorrow, but it was near closing this time.
