Paypal on Bricklink

Hi,

Quick question.  I'm still fairly newb at the new Bricklink (2.0).  I placed two orders, and would like to send payment via Paypal.  Okay, maybe this question is actually more about Paypal...

Do I want to select "goods and services" or "friends and family"?  I don't want to rip off the seller of the "fee" associated with the goods and services option, but I have a feeling that is the appropriate choice (and the way to have some protection of the purchase on my end)...and maybe the sellers expect that Paypal will take a cut?

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Always pay with Goods and Services, otherwise you don't get any buyers protection.  It is customary on Bricklink to do so.  The majority of sellers expect it and if not, they will charge an extra fee for taking paypal.

Always good and service so you have paypal protection. Some sellers will even charge you the paypal fees (even though it is against paypal T&C). Don't feel like you are ripping off the seller, that is the way to go.

It is only against PayPal's T&C in some countries (including the US).

Besides what others have mentioned, another thing to note is that when you pay as friends and family, the seller will not get your shipping address, nor will you automatically get a tracking number added to your payment, so it messes up the whole process.

The seller will get your shipping address from BrickLink, so it's not that they won't have it at all, but now they will have to prepare a shipping label manually, and will also have to send you the tracking into manually. While some buyers do choose friends and family, which means no PP fee to the seller, I rather pay the fee and have an easier workflow.
