I will be attending. If anybody is interested in anything I might be able to bid for them, as long as of course I don't want it. ;)

Probably stolen, I reckon they were seized as items relating to POC (proceeds of crime).

Whatever it is, I want some.

They did a good job displaying the sets, though I wonder what's in the bins.

So many retired sets. That video was like watching a big chunk of my wish list flash by with a big sign saying "this is what you missed" from before I came to my senses and reinstated myself with the hobby.
It's a really nice collection of sets that someone is going to be very happy with. Just a shame that someone had to have it go missing in the first place.

I"ll take the Town hall, the Yoda statue, The Haunted House and #10027 Train Engine Shed!

It's very possible that the sets were not stolen but were confiscated as part of a drug bust.

Also on the video the announcer said "Lego" vice "Legos". Must be a fan!

I'm in MA...DRAT!!!  And what kiki said LOL  I can't imagine what the shipping prices would be, then again, I've spent way too much on Lego recently so I probably shouldn't be bidding, period...

the kingdom castle? what's so special about it? I don't remember it being particularly pricy on the secondary market.

I sincerely doubt any of the desirable  ones will go cheap online. It will be interesting to watch.

Wow, what a haul! If only I was in Canada to check it out. Nothing really jumps out to me as a "must have" aside from the Republic Dropship & AT-OT, but it is still impressive.

Yeah, especially since Vancouver has a very large materialistic population. Lots of people willing to spend a lot of money on stuff. Ever since the Lego Movie came out, I've found a lot of people buying large Lego sets just for the sake of spending money.

Langley is also quite a commute from Vancouver, so there may be a few good deals if not a lot of people are willing to go there, ha ha.

After looking through the video I've come up with a list of sets worth mentioning with lowest BL price to get a sense of what to bid. From what the guy in the video said, these should all be new sets. I am willing to do bids for folks who are not in the area, though I may need to charge some sort of packing fee for my time if a bunch of people want in.

Also if bidders could please pay me asap if/when you win as its a lot of cash I'll be handing over, and obviously I would like to be getting that back, ha ha.

PM me with what sets you want with max bid and if you would like shipping quotes, message me with your country and state/province (Canadians, I need postal code).

Please note for when converting dollar value, all values are in CANADIAN dollars.

I'm always up in the air about online auctions (non-ebay), people seem to blast the price up and ignore the Auction % charge that gets tacked on as well.

Couple that with any shipping and you suddenly have your wallet stabbing you violently.

Woo, just looked at the bidding increments they posted. Gets crazy quick it seems.

@bobabricks - I'm signed up and got approved to bid online.  If I win anything would you be willing to pick it up and arrange shipping for me?  I'd of course be willing to make sure you are compensated for the effort!  :)

I signed up.  The lady called me all the way from BC to confirm my identity.  There is a 17% buyers premium and sales tax on top of the sale price plus shipping.  I'll be logged in an monitoring but I'm not sure with all the add-ons there will be much a deal to be had.

@bookmum - Based on some Google searching, it appears Mr. Smith was arrested as part of a drug investigation.

In the course of that investigation, a large amount of LEGO and other collectibles were uncovered in his home and at a storage facility. It was then determined those products had been stolen from a number of local retailers, who had reported a spike in LEGO-related thefts.

I don't know how Canadian police seizure laws work, but in the U.S. law enforcement is often allowed to seize and auction off items obtained in the commission of a crime. Usually it's vehicles and electronics. In this case, they are selling off a LEGO collection taken from a drug-dealing, shoplifting AFOL.

But did he join brickset just to literally brag about his crime? And he hadn't even built the sets! If you're going to nick lego (don't obviously) at least build it!!
