Do the $29.99 sets meet the $30 threshold at TRU for the free poly?
  • josekaleljosekalel Member Posts: 682
For as much as I want Ahsoka, I think getting the #76057 Ultimate Bridge Battle is a better deal.

Really want to know that too...

Might depend on your store but it worked for me.  I purchased 2x first order generals and 4x Awing pilots for 4.99 each totaling 29.94 and I was able to get a 5th awing pilot for free.  I also checked out at the customer service register because that is where they kept the polybags.

Like others have mentioned, I was able to clean up on the deals at TRU today. For the purchase of 1 Rebel Frigate and a couple 1st Order Generals, I received the $25.00 gift card, the Cops and Robbers minifig set and the A-wing pilot. I had an additional coupon for 15% off purchase of $100.00 that they would not let me use.

See if they have them in-stock at your TRU first.

Then you can get the A-Wing pilot when $30 or more is purchased.

Also, if you want to spend over $100, use the $25 gc promo when $100 is spent.

The tru I went to had no freebies whatsoever lol. No minifig for bricktober,  no polybags or anything.

I picked up #66548 Ninjago Rock Roader and the #5004393 Cole minifig at my local tru.  They did not want to give me the 20% off, but finally agreed to do it.  They had a limit of one per person at my store for the Rock Reader with tru extras.  No limit was posted for the minifig.

^^ I had the same situation. It was easy to point the sign hanging in front of the set showing the 20% off price. There is a different set number for TRU exclusive Rock Roader box, I assume it also has a different UPC/barcode and that is why it didn't ring up right.

@YogaFett2 Thank you very much for the heads up.  It's a good deal when stack with items already on sale, plus any discounted gift cards one may have left.  I used CMFs as fillers since my items are less than $19 required.

Will work well with the SW Polys...

Nice! There's also 20% off all Ninjago, Elves, and Speed Champions sets this week (both in-store and online), so I'm definitely going to be going to Toys 'R' Us to take advantage of these deals.

I'll probably be getting #70596 since it's a Toys 'R' Us exclusive, not marked up from RRP, and the last Ninjago set on my wish list for this year besides exclusives from other stores.

Does anybody knows if the free Ninjago Cole minifigure works with pickup at store orders?

Did not see it mentioned, but eBay is having a Flash Sale, 15 off 60, paypal required.  Sale ends at 9pm PST.

For example, at the TRU eBay store, #60096 (Deep Sea Base) would be $45 with free shipping.

What are the details to this? Is it TRU only, or is this any purchase of 60 or more? Where does the discount show up?

I actually wrote more than I did and then trimmed it all down because I got the impression folks think I'm too wordy with my posts.  ^_^

Anyway, I actually used my coupon at Target's eBay store but picked the Deep Sea because that's the biggest bang for the buck at exactly $60.

Bang for the buck is the way to go, if the set as a whole isn't appealing as much as it's contents are.

I planned on building my set. Good to get it one at roughly 30% off.

I may ask my bro to get that Deep Sea set now!

Thanks, how do you find when eBay does a flash sale (sorry for my ignorance but it is the first time I have seen this), it is just under 'Daily deals and 'Sales and events' then??

  • busumoe1busumoe1 Member Posts: 194
For me, I check deals websites daily.  And eBay spams me twice a day every day.  I tolerated that because I used to get really good deals with eBay Bucks stacking on top of discounted gift cards and paid with rolled eBay GC.  Only these coupon deals are worth my time on eBay now.

Went by TRU today & was able to get the $10 gift card for $75 deal. Not nearly as good as the $25 gift card for $100 they had going but I didn't have the money last week. They had a whole bin of the catalogs right by the entrance so theoretically you could keep coming back and getting a new coupon.

Since my catalog came in the mail it also had a save $15 on $100 coupon on the front cover. I was able to get both promotions by splitting my purchases into two separate transactions.

The clerk was very helpful in making sure I got my rewards card scanned for both transactions. However, even though I qualified for the A-Wing pilot and Cole promos, nothing seemed to show up on the screen. So I went over to CS & once I showed them the Lego page which shows a $30 purchase to qualify for the promo items they handed over both. Without checking my receipt.

The store was so crowded I cannot even imagine the horror of trying to go there on BF or during December, even though I have rewards to use.

Yep. That's why I always ask first at the CS, which is my first stop after entering a TRU.
If they don't have it, check with electronics/games. They have drawers which may contain some of the promos.
Lastly, check the other register stands. They keep them there too.

If there isn't a promo available, out the door I go.

I went to get the SW Advent Calendar and Cole today with some Rewards dollars and Credit Card discount, and they had jacked the price up on the Calendar to $44.99.  That was pretty annoying.

Is that a chicken suit guy or a zombie? Cause he just won't die..
I have an issue with BOGO 40% from TRU since many sets seem to be at about a 15-20% mark up over RRP.
If you do your homework, there may be some good deals, but Target.com really has some good deals going on now.

Buy one get one 40% off sounds like an OK deal, but last week's 20% off Ninjago, Nexo Knights, City, and Elves suited my needs better since the sets I needed from TRU (#70596 and #70326) are not similar in price. Plus an exclusive Ninjago minifigure is much more desirable to me than a chicken suit guy who was widely available for just $3 three years ago.

I was in my local(ish) TRU last Friday... there was a sale tag on a Dimensions Play Pack display: TUESDAY ONLY - 3 for $25, usual price $11.99 each. They honored it! (and subsequently took the tags down, haha!) Added a few more packs to my Sons Birthday & Christmas XBOX One surprise. Picked up Emmet, Wonder Woman, and Superman. :D Happy Daddy.

I did NOT, however, see anything I wanted for $30 or more in order to get the free Ninjago &/or Star Wars minifigure promotion. :(

YMMV, most TRUs only allow one promo per purchase.

I know. One way around it is buying one or more of the Polys (a big YMMV) and get another poly for meeting the minimum purchase.

I'm not sure if TRU recently relaxed the rules or maybe it's just an exception during the shopping season.  I've been able to stack multiple promos and the cashiers are bending over backwards to help you.

I'm not as well known among the TRU circles to be known as the Lego-Price-Match guy but that's how I do 90% of my purchases in-store.  So while the employees don't recognize me (maybe that's a good thing), I recognized the usual long-term employees who run the customer service counters.  In the past they would hesitate to stack promos.  It was a big no-no to price match and use a coupon.  Yet recently, while they may not suggest to me what I can do to stack the promos, they would politely ask if there are any coupons before they hit the subtotal key.

I've been able to stack Price-match + Star Wars Poly + Friends Poly + "$10GC for $75 purchase" (and I paid for it all with my discounted gift cards).  That specific transaction equates to 60% off the RRP and get two free poly bags.

The 10 GC for 75 promo ends 11/19, in-store only.  The coupon was easier to find earlier in the week, but I can't find it right now.  Perhaps someone else can help.

Well I found #30448 Spider-man Vs Alien Symbiote in the Chicagoland area and they are on an end caps as well in the LEGO aisle (check all end caps in the LEGO aisle as well (though I still would say if you do not see them, ask CS to ensure they do not have them in the stockroom still).
