    Thanks to my latest BL orders from Australia and Belgium I can finally assemble #7189 Mill Village Raid.



    I think this is all, except for 5 minifigs that I ordered today from a seller in Canada. I just can't decide about the two goats... they were in the usual price of 25 dollars each and still sealed. Will I cut open the sealed baggies to display those cute goats or not? Oh, dilemma's!

    They can be a little more difficult. The main issue is the sheer amount of pieces and time needed!

    Just finished the Caterham last night.   Its a beauty however it does have some rather delicate sections.  Definitely not suitable for play without losing a few bits.  That said mine will only be on display as I would imagine most will be.  Would have loved to have functional steering.

    I started building the Dr. Strange set yesterday. It's pretty fragile while in progress (especially that central window) so I think they pitched the age range (starting at 7) about right, but once you get towards the end of the main structure it starts to feel sturdier.

    Lots of lovely details in it (I especially enjoyed seeing how they designed the bookcases, since I put some in an MOC recently and the set has a better way of stopping the books falling out), and so far the highlight is building the eldritch Lovecraftian horror - LOVE that tentacle monster! :D

    Last night we had a look inside the Palace Cinema and it doesn't look like it'll be too hard to build the monster into the screen, but I think I'll keep the Dr. Strange set intact for Hallowe'en and put some spooky lighting in...

    ^ I'm using the set as a template for a portal monster in one of my windows.  Clearance pool 'noodles' at Target should make for serviceable tentacles...

    Currently building my Green Grocer, the only Lepin set I own. Brick quality surprisingly decent, though the colour coordination in the instruction booklet is terrible (tan becomes gold halfway through the books, and dark red and dark brown look exactly the same). In short, it feels like I'm building actual Lego. Noticed that there are tiny gaps between each brick though, so if you lit up the building you'd probably see light filtering through.

    I think the colours in Lego printed instructions for CC and GG (or any set older than these) are just as bad, though TLG had come a long way as they have improved on it within the past few years.

    My Lego bricks can also see light through the gaps so it's not just a Lepin thing.

    Just finished building #60131 "Crooks Island". I picked up the set cheaply in a bargain bin at Tesco. I was delighted with some of the parts used in the set: some interesting Olive pieces, a printed Wanted poster tile, a nice rock face piece, some nice crook minifigs, and many other useful parts. Overall a small but interesting build. Yes it came with another helicopter but even that was well designed.

    The bridge is made from the bases of the SW Collectable Figures packs that came in late 1999 and early 2000 if memory serves right. Kid me didn't know the collection method but he sure loved to take things apart. Now I am using a mix of both personalities (the one that cares sets and minifigures and the other that takes unwanted sets apart). That is indeed the Age of Ultron Hydra Fortress assault reporposed in the SW universe, in the right side the Empire is waiting (look at the MG nest and the wall) it's time to role out and destroy some militias left over from the CW on the left bank.

    Good choice @stlux - I love that set! I've actually just washed my #7824 set for the first time - it is one of my rare childhood sets that I never took apart and, as it's has been together for a good 30 years now, was overdue a good clean! I've not put it back together, but have a vague plan to try and 'winterfy' it in time for running the new Winter Train around the Christmas tree...

    Finishing #41122, got a replacement part a few days ago and this was the first time I got around to building. Might start #41121 afterwarwtr6ds ; already have #41120

    Started (and finished) building the #10228 Haunted House yesterday. It was my first "big" building (I don't have any of the modulars, and the other buildings I've built are either facades or don't have interiors). Building the windows got a little repetitive, but they did vary a little bit so it wasn't too bad.

    Just built #41177 The Precious Crystal Mine. Fun set, and a lot nicer looking than I anticipated from the official pics and box art. :)

    For fun, after building it I put together a LEGO Elves trolley problem. Because that gap in the tracks fits a mini-doll a little too nicely.

    This past week I put together the RV and the yacht from #31052 Vacation Getaways (two different sets). They both look great, but hands down to the RV.

    Also built #10244 Fairground Mixer. Like it a lot... and easier to store too!

    I don't think I'll be building anything this week as I'll be out of town next week... which means no build next week either.

    I did finish both 41122 and 41121 that evening.

    The overall appearance of both sets is a great match. Details like the tree design are similar; for 41121, the fire pit stands out. However, I wish there was enough open space in the Tree House river for a raft. Due to the bridges, they look too hard to expand with more plates.

    It was nice to have an extra tent cover; I even built another tent with the same pieces in (mostly) different colors. However, I wish the end flaps stayed shut on their own.

    Friends can go nicely with similarly themed regular LEGO, in this case CMF S16 Hiker. (Ironically, it was Boy Scout camp experience that got me interested in these girl camp sets)

    They were both good deals once marked down.

    The overall 41121 build was straightforward but not too easy.

    I liked the signpost in Rafting that pointed to both the Tree House and Archery Range, and displayed the sets so as to make that sign accurate.

    My latest build was the Red Skull's Sub, which was interesting throughout and good for picking up SNOT ideas. I was impressed with how sturdy the framework was from early on in the build; I suppose the fins might be a bit vulnerable, but it feels like the main body would survive boisterous play from the target audience. 

    In the end I only applied the sticker that goes on top of the cab (wheelhouse? what would you call that in a submarine?); I would've liked the Hydra logo on the sides but I didn't like how, if I re-used the parts, it would probably be at an odd angle. I also felt like the doors of the prisoner chamber didn't really need those energy bar stickers; again, I was thinking about future uses for the pieces. The Red Skull will just have to be subtle for once in his life. :P

    The finished model is really sleek and cool looking; I think it called out to me in the first place because it reminds me of old Space Police stuff with all the black and trans red. You get a great figure selection, too. So, um, it appears that I now collect Marvel Superheroes, which I had never intended to do. Oops?

    That's a good set. I particularly like the rear end and prow. As for collecting Marvel now, I hear that disposable income is overrated!

    Hi all, I am new to this forum, but have been collecting Lego for a very long time! I have just finished a 10187-1: Volkswagen Beetle but in brown/tan as opposed to the two hues of blue. I say finished, I still need to source the head lights and hub caps. I am currently building the below (well slowly sourcing parts for them).. 10240-1: Red Five X-wing Starfighter (97% of parts now) 10174-1: Imperial AT-ST (90% of parts now) 10242-1: Mini Cooper MK VII in Black (60% of parts now) A Lego Sculpture of a man pushing a ball (a forget where the moc is from) (40% of parts now) 21100-1: Shinkai 6500 Submarine (40% of parts now) 21101-1: Hayabusa (40% of parts now) 398-1: USS Constellation (65% of parts now) 21104-1: NASA Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover (1 part to find) A Lego model of my house! I tend to buy a lot of sets, but don’t get around to building them. Instead I seem to gain more satisfaction from building alternate sets from parts that I source via bricklink. I was once an owner of a Taj Mahal, but I could not justify keeping it when offered £750 for it! Thanks TF
