Pentagon Row Grand Opening - Northern Viginia, USA

Anybody here going tomorrow, Oct. 1st? I'm planning on lining up early to make sure I'm one of the first few that get the Lego Store Model. Let me know you're going!

My brother and I are planning to be there! We're excited—it's the first time we've gotten to attend a Lego Store grand opening event.

I plan on being there. Still trying to decide what time to get there.

I was going to try and make it but figure it is not someplace I want to be with a six year old tomorrow.  Going to hit Potomac Mills instead, figure that place should be fairly empty comparatively.  I wanted the store model just not bad enough to brave the crowds.

Yup, store openings are tough with children under ten or so. Long waits get to everyone, especially the little ones. What I can never figure out is why don't they just open an hour or two earlier instead of making 300 plus people in line all wait another hour or two or three to get in. It makes no sense to waste the time of all those fine folks. In Charlotte they did not allow chairs in the line, and it was an awfully hard floor. I convinced the head of security to allow my folding chair in because I can't get up off the floor with two replaced knees and can't stand for three hours. It is discrimination against those with disabilities, so if you need a chair, let them know why. And why in heck they would ask a pregnant woman to stand for three hours is just beyond me. If they don't want to tie up traffic flow inside the building, let the folks in the LEGO store before the other stores open. That would do a lot to lessen congestion inside.

Here 2 hours before opening and line is about 50 long. Didn't do an exact count.

Yep. That's what I estimated. A mix of dads and moms, a sprinkling of kids, and probably a lot of Bricksetters :).

Women behind me are bashing speculators. They actually started telling the "Little Timmy" story!!!!

Update: activity has picked up - line is back to the escalators. I'm guessing about 100 deep now.

Only two Bricksetters here or only two commenting? Anyone wants to say hi, I'm in a blue Abraham Lincoln T-shirt and a fedora.

Update: line now looks to be all the way back to the Ritz (and they made us compress it so it is even deeper).  I'd guess at 200 now.

Store is open :). They are taking about 20-30 people in the store at a time. Limit of one store per person.

Line me has now wrapped the corner and it is al the way back nearly at Victoria's Secrets.

Oh and to be clear -- the store is in the mall, and not in Pentagon Row, which is the open "town center" development next door. It's on the first floor near the center of the mall, across from Sephora. And actually there are two other makeup stores next door as well. What a strange mix...!

I'm here, but I got here around 9:50 so I'm way towards the back of the line. May not be leaving with a LEGO store; we'll see.

Supposedly 300 or 400 depending on who you talk to. 400 per the sign on the store.

Made it out. Unlike most other people I didn't go with one large item, I got some advent calendars and other small stuff.

Congrats to both of you.  I had my son with me so I wasn't going to wait.  Seemed very organized though.

Any word on what the minifigs might be tomorrow?

Store setup was well done.  A little bit of extra room in the front.  Kind of crowded toward the back.  I could see it getting quite crowded on a busy day.

They had had some Force Awakens sets on sale in a display piece...also the Flash Speeder.

I ended up getting the LEGO store set! There were still a lot left when my brother and I got to the front of the line. We also got the Holiday Countdown Calendar freebie, the Bucket Wheel Excavator, two Nexo Knights Ultimate sets, and a Pick-A-Brick cup full of Mixels joints (should have a lot of fun with those)

I also ended up with the Lego Store set as well as the Christmas Creator 24 in 1 set. I picked up the US Capitol Achitecture set as well as the Star Wars Advent Calendar. Decent haul for the trip! Store is relatively small, but the staff was remarkably friendly and helpful!
