I'm working from home today, so looking forward to finishing a little early and having fun with my daughters, setting up all the track for #60052 and sending my first LEGO train off on her maiden run. :-)
I scoured the house earlier for as many AAA rechargeable batteries as I could find and have spent the day ensuring they're all nicely charged up.
I'm jealous, mine will have to stay in the box until my new room is complete.
It won't be able to stay up for long, as I'm going to have to use the living room floor and I don't see my partner liking that for long... I'm getting rumblings about how long my Minecraft display has been hogging the dining table... ;-)

@SumoLego My nickname all my friends and family call me by is 'Bone'. A lot of folks, outside of work, don't even know my real name.

Atleast it's not 'Koko'.  Unless your real name is Koko.  In that case, that would be the most ironic thing ever.  Real ironic, not Alanis Morissette ironic.

    Don'tcha think?

The birthday celebration continues with a quick stop at the Lego store :) Dr. Who set was 20% off and Dimensions pack was 50% off. Plus got another free Nexo Knight promo.

My LEGO status is I'm sorting a bunch of pieces. Just finished building An Unexpected Gathering, which may be one of my favorite LEGO sets of all time, noodling around looking at some reference stuff, marveling at the massive talent of so many people and trying to figure out just how to concept up something I am thinking about taking to a design phase to see if it is good enough to build for IDEAS. That one is a ways off, but now I'm just in taking notes and roughs.

Yep, just the 8th icon along in the comment editor - the 'file' one. You can upload pictures from your hard drive or link them from another host like Flickr, Imgur, etc.

Lego status: enjoying my holiday and trying to ignore all the brickwatch/brickmerge/... alerts of Amazon UK price matching Argos etc.
Amazon have now shipped my Dr Strange and Mystery Machine sets I ordered at the start of September, so at least that to look forward to. Now they just need to get some boxes of the Mystery Mansion so they can ship that backorder too...

@stlux Wow really? I feel bad for all of you living outside the US when it comes to shopping. I order from Amazon I have it two days.
Don't be - those aren't normal delivery times. Amazon will do next day delivery on most items, even if it has to come from the other side of Europe; they manage same evening delivery on some things.

@blogzilly A couple of years ago Walmar had many of the LOTR and Hobbit sets on sale, I wish I had gotten that one...The lesson I learned is, if you don't like the property but it's a good/nice/interesting set at a really good price, buy it.

@blogzilly No need to feel sorry for us. Or at least those of us with easy access to Amazon UK/DE/FR/IT. Echoing @TigerMoth we can easily get next day delivery anywhere, even though for myself I chose the free delivery and get my items usually after 3 days; Amazon Prime is not worth it for me as in my country I don't have access to most of what it offers.
In this particular case Amazon UK was price matching 1 of the local retailers, and lots of Lego went TooS. They finally received a new batch for 2 of the sets I ordered back then, now waiting for 2 more. Getting them for a good price is more important to me than getting them quickly :)

As opposed to Amazon AU which is pointless, no Lego, no toys, no other stuff, just books...

Ironic that I want girl lego because of boy scout experience, but interested in Adventure Camp. Target Cartwheel plus redcard is a good deal. I have the money for #41121 Rafting and #41122 Tree House (got #41120 Archery awhile ago). I want to fit them together, but don't see how from the pictures. Maybe it will be obvious when I actually build them and get out some of my own pieces to go with them.

@KingAlanI I don't think it so off the tracks to get Friends sets if your a guy. I bought three amusement park sets and will get more and am in the process of slowly converting them into something I like, fitting them together, changing colors, coming up with themes, etc. Thought very much about doing something similar to the camp stuff.

There are a ton of great nuggets in Friends that just aren't finding their way to City, and they are so DIFFERENT than Police and Fire. I want that School Bus in the Heartlake School...

    @blogzilly
I agree with you. I like a lot of friends stuff and don't mind that. I just found it funny that in this particular case I got the idea from a guy thing.
Amusement Park looks cool and I may get some later on sale.
Yes, CITY is very focused on police and fire (with some other vehicles, and nonurban things like Volcano Explorers), while Friends has more variety.
Sometimes Friends sets go with other sets on the same topic. #41092 Stephanie's Pizzeria was one of the first things I got after my dark age, to combine with #10036 Pizza To Go. I also have #30115 Jungle Boat and #6508 Wave Racer.
I like Pop Star because of my Lady Gaga phase; #41104 Dressing Room was another early purchase.
I haven't been interested in any Elves or Disney Princess sets, but I have kept some minidolls for Friends scenes.
As a BrickLink seller I'm open to LEGO I'm not personally interested in.

I reckon it would be hard to find a 'I'd never buy a friends set because I'm a bloke' chap who doesn't want the Hot Dog Stand! Go on admit it. You want it. Ha ha.

That hotdog stand is on my wish list since I saw the first pictures of it. Had higher priorities so far this year buying sets I worry will retire soon, but it will definitely be mine this year!

The hot dog stand is great. I did pick it up. Opened it already and am figuring out if I need to order parts (probably do) in order to change some of the look. I will probably combine it with a balloon stand and BBQ or something...maybe.

Bit of LEGO haul today. Popped into TKMaxx and found a couple of storage bricks, 2x4 in orange and 2x1 in grey and a copy of the Brick Wheels book. Then later on Sainsburys had last years Halloween set and the last three CMF series 16 I needed. Good days shopping.

#41129 would go with the hot dog vendor in #60134 Fun in the Park.
Costume piece CMFs are popular, so it makes sense to see that in minidolls and/or regular production too.

My fave 3 (in no particular order of preference) are:
    Ice Queen
    Cute Little Devil
Babysitter (coz of the lickle baby minifig)

@Legopants - I agree with you on the Cute Little Devil because he really is cute :-)
I kind of like the Cyborg too - her blue hair is pretty cool. And, yeah, the baby is soooo sweet :-)

All in all, I think this series is one of the better ones - some really great minifigs. Already looking forward to S17 :-))

Well, I've been in the office, working, since 08:00 on Saturday, with a few hours break for sleep, so I'm going to pop along the DLR up to the Stratford store to just have a quick browse before heading home.
I *might* pick up #853609 and #853610 Skin Packs, but that'll do... :-)

I often buy for resale/parting out if I see a good deal on LEGO I don't want myself. Is that what you mean? Do you mean having it handy in case you do get interested?

Got both my parcels from Amazon yesterday, so the Red Skull Sub and Dr. Strange set are in my wardrobe, awaiting a time of great need. But I let myself open the minifig I also bought to hit the free postage threshold on our new DVD drive, so now I have the Dog Show Winner...

Correct...in several occasions I have regretted not getting a set, which I later 'started liking' or realized that might have been a good buy (again, so many good sets during Walmart's clearances).

Finally have a complete collection of a particular theme. Thanks @llanowarsoldier

Kinda shocked, but glad they came!
I don't have all the little ones. Looks like #40107 is missing from that photo.

After looking at the WV subtheme on Brickset it says the original Holiday Train is part of the theme:( Sadly I am missing that one.

Yeah, there's always another (unless you try to complete discontinued themes, which is often impossible).

Spent most of the weekend on Lego 'admin', nowhere near bricks :(

on the plus side it means the main jobs now are building like mad and making cakes (Lego themed of course)

I do have 2 sets of 40107, for some reason it wasn't in the photo when I took it.

I missed the Holiday train too, it was already EOL when I started collecting the Winter series so not going to pay EOL price for it.

This weekend I have been going through my fabuland and building some of the sets because I would like to put some pictures of them on the forum. (Is there a fabuland thread anywhere on the forum?). Anyway here is a taster.
