At least around here (southern WI), most Target LEGO clearance just does not last long. I always have a far better chance of stuff lingering at Walmarts in this region. The only luck I have ever have at Target is when seasonal polybags are left over, and that's only because I know what day that markdown is coming.

Yeah, all the clearance is gone at my store, except for a few items on the endcaps. The main shelves are filled with new sets - Friends Amusement Park and the new Nexo Knights Ultimates look cool, but not at full retail. redcard discount is 5% like VIP, without waiting to use points or needing to do so in $5 increments, but S@H has promos.

The targets in my area are pretty much cleared out, only crappy discounts remain (25% off beach hut, $10 off avengers tower, etc.)
  • wagnerml2wagnerml2 Member Posts: 1,376
Picked up two #75106 Imperial Assault Carriers last night for $65 each.  Was surprised.  Haven't seen this one discounted at any other target in our area.

My observations on the last two Target clearance was confirmed today, they tend to pull the 30% off clearance rather than sell it at 50%.  I have noticed that a lot of the mid-priced Ninjago sets that were 30% like Morro Dragon or Titan Mech Battle have virtually no inventory in the last couple of weeks, and today they were putting up the new sets, and I saw them put any leftover clearance Lego in carts along with other clearance items that had not sold!

My question, where do those unsold Lego sets go?  Back to a central warehouse to be sold online?  Back to Lego?  To Ross's/TJ Maxx right next door to be sold at a markup?

Are you sure they weren't moving them to another area in the store? My local Target sets up a clearance area in the seasonal toys (e.g. pool toys, yard games) aisle. As best I can tell, the remaining clearance stock is now on that aisle. Unfortunately, it's still at 30% off, which is a change from how they've done things the past few years.

Target does donate to Goodwill. If they're no longer on the shelves, it's possible they went there.

Missed all the clearance at the local Target. :/ That deal ^ is crazy.

Also this is a little offtopic, but in general does anybody know where Target puts their CMF's? I haven't been able to find any the last couple years.
  • matticus_bricksmatticus_bricks Member Posts: 651
@BrownRiceMafia It seems to vary from store to store, and in my experience, from series to series where a store will actually put their CMFs. At my store, I've always seen them hung on a vertical rack at the end of one of the Lego aisles, but I've also seen them on pegs in the checkout lanes. I've never seen it personally, but I've read that they sometimes put a box out on the electronics counter. Oh, and around the holidays they sometimes have a display in the stocking stuffers area.

ok thanks, that's really helpful. I wasn't sure where to look before so I kinda wandered up and down the toy section and then gave up. Interesting that they'd put them in electronics...

Best deal I saw at any Target was that ^ #60071 for $13.98

That is always where I've seen them in my Targets when the series are first released.  Any later shipments end up on the lego shelve or a hanger box

    Wow. Nice City pickups @dthomp408.

All of these clearance threads are making me want to save up this year for summer clearance (and gas money driving around to all of them)!

My target moved a ton of toys to salvage.  They were taking them off the shelf with the last markdown being at 30% to 50% for some Lego.  Some random toys were 70-75% but no Lego.
  • tamamahmtamamahm Member Posts: 1,987
I am wondering if mine did similar... I went yesterday, and the toy clearance area was empty...far more empty than if people went through and bought everything. Pricing on the empty shelves still said 50%.
  • red237red237 Member Posts: 334
Ours said 30 or 50, and were being packed up today. Lots of new stuff out.

    If they're MSRP'd at $11.99, they should be ~$3.60.

You don't need a smartphone or the app to take advantage of the cartwheel deals.
    Start here http://cartwheel.target.com,
where you can create an account and log in via computer, add the deals to your list, and then print out your cartwheel barcode. My wife 'laminated' hers with packing tape, and has been using it for months this way. Works just as well as the app version on my phone.

Noticed today Target stores have a few Jurassic World sets on clearance.  #75918 ($69) now down to $48.98 and #75917 Raptor Rampage ($49) now down to $34.98.  The other 3 sets in this theme were regular price still.

Does this vary by region? For me, it shows up with a normal price of $76.99 but is only 10% off (~$69).
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
^Yes that's the showing correctly then. It's supposed to be $99.99 RRP, so $69.99 is 30% off.

It is a good price regardless where you get it (though with a red card you get a bit more off), I just cannot buy it right now even though that is a good price. I hope to see prices like that around Christmas.
  • ryjayryjay Member Posts: 1,004
Darn...the shuttle in my area shows reg $99, sale $89....still too much for it
  • ryjayryjay Member Posts: 1,004
The Ewok Village is also down to $225 with the 10% sale on line.  Add another 5% off from the red card gets it down pretty good for those interested.

2 CMF S12 bags in a box of random stuff in the trading card aisle. Piggy Guy and Spooky Girl are still valuable, and I'm personally interested in many others. They ring up at $4.89 instead of $3.99. Customer service worker wouldn't override. In the confusion, I forget to scan a non-LEGO Cartwheel barcode. The service desk person who handled that did change the price on S12. Ended up with Prospector and Battle Goddess.

Also saw 1 S15 bag lying around, felt like Tribal Woman which I don't need more of.

Cartwheel has 20% off #75116 Finn or #75117 Kylo Ren, expiring on the 24th, also 20% off Friends Adventure Camp ( #41120 #41121 #41122 ) expiring October 1st. I already have Archery, might get Rafting and/or Tree House. Reminds me of summer camp like Pop Star and my Lady Gaga phase.

That 20% off on Nexo Knights appears to be from their previous prices; I'm seeing #70314 Beast Master's Chariot for $19.19, for example. I'm still browsing through the sale list on the target.com site, and even seeing 20% off list on #70322, which was new just last month. There's also a whole bunch of other themes, too; as well as Minecraft I'm seeing 20% off City sets, as well as some Super Heroes discounts (although not quite matching TRU's 20% off this week).
  • DedgeckoDedgecko Member Posts: 798
Yep, looks like NK is at about 30-33% off series one stuff on target.com.  All of series 2 is %20 off, --- Except the ultimates :(
