  Have you ever seen the Bionicle Squid ammo and Shadow Leeches? Those  things could readily pass for fruit snacks.

  I think @mpfirnhaber has a bit more of a specific question than what was on my thread, but I guess it could be a tangent.
  
  
  and I've heard from many people, including Sascha (owner of magicbricks) that these are test strikes rather than special colors for model shops, though some special red parts could be test strikes that also happen to be model shop parts... If that makes sense...
  
  I'm sure if ou dig a little deeper, there is something out there stated by Lego whether or not these are factory tests.
