@SumoLego I wish I was more like Wyldstyle Lucy!
And how about Iron Shark and Captain Hotdog as more Superhero/mascot mash-ups?

Actually, 'Sharquaman' may be making an appearance this evening.  And perhaps another surprise.

My own status update: went to Leeds. My lovely other half asked if I wanted anything from the Lego Shop. I had to say no because I have everything I want from current sets except for the horribly expensive ones, and I can't justify those right now. She nearly convinced me to get the Harley Quinn/Deadshot/Batman set, but there's no way I'm extending to the Suicide Squad -  I just don't want the Sewer Smash set.
    Still made me sad though.

Just wondering- why do you think those sets are based off of SS?
  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,575
^ Those sets are not so much 'based off' SS but when one of them has two of the current roster in it (Gotham City Cycle Chase) and the Sewer Smash set has THREE of them in it, it suggests things...

Just tell yourself that Harley is just Joker sidekick (LEGO even made sets with her well before SS, and she's obviously not wearing the same outfit), and Deadshot is from the comics- he doesn't look much like Will Smith. ;)

Walk over to your parts buckets with a Pick-A-Brick cup in your hands (any cup will do), and close your eyes. Randomly open drawers pick up handfulls of parts. WHen your cup is full, sit down, open your eyes, and build something. Let's say... a Mech.

Current roster is from the comic, not the film (although I bet that isn't by accident):

One day. I'm saving them for my boys. Still have every set in their boxes, along with the various polybags, and a few multiples. My sons' heads will explode the day we open them.

Status: a bit pee'd off. Enjoying my bank holiday weekend by building the UCS Slave I, that I've had waiting since May 4th, but it seems to be missing a 4x8 light bley plate. I've gone back through the book twice over to see if I could have made a mistake, but nope. It is not there.

Only option to keep going (while awaiting a replacement) is to take one out of my Fairground Mixer.

^ Do others worry that pieces are missing when building new sets? If I don't find a piece quickly I start to panic...

I've never actually had a missing piece though.

Yes occasionally needlessly though as generally I am just overlooking it or I have used the piece in another spot.  I believe I was missing a small piece once which I never bothered sourcing from Lego as it was common and I had one on hand.

I was missing a trans clear 1x1 round plate from Palace Cinema, but I didn't bother requesting it. But I was very surprised to find a piece was genuinely missing; normally what happens is that one of us gets all het up and then the thing turns up under another piece, or having rolled off somewhere...

My #10211 Grand Emporium came with the wrong flower piece, so I requested a replacement.

And my #31026 Bike Shop & Café came with a duplicated bag and missing a bag. Since it didn't came with numbered bag, I had to do a full inventory of the included parts and cross-reference it with the instructions part list to order the replacement pieces. That was fun!

Oh yikes that would be fun!  I suppose if it were some unique piece or detailing like that it would be more likely one would request a replacement especially if you plan on selling it at some point.  But of course just having it correct is ideal!

That's odd because it would mean both are missing - there's one that's used and one that's a spare. Something like that you'd expect to find in the corner of a bag, but both of them...?

I tend to dump all pieces into one big pile, so I don't panic quickly - sometimes it can take 5-10 minutes to find something in a big set.

I've had a couple of experiences of missing pieces, but nothing as big as a 4x8 plate. Very bizarre. Thankfully, the one I took from the Fairground Mixer was in the turning mechanism for the ride, which was made redundant anyway by the power functions. Stroke of luck this time.

    Cousins over yesterday.
7 year old girl happy with the set I got on sale for her awhile back. It is fun to put the people together first, or in this case the elf. She then asked for the "double legos". Well, that is where the word DUPLO came from. Got the tub out of the basement. She quickly built a house, but stacked the bricks on top of each other rather than interlocking them and was all annoyed when I tried to correct her engineering.
Her 3 year old sister had a T shirt that said "Science is for girls". Daddy already knew about #21110 Research Institute. I showed him #41116 Olivia's Exploration Car. I also said that TLG is making a point of making female minifigures in stereotypically male jobs generally.

I may have a new minifig among my list of favorites. Good parts, not overly complex printing, but incredibly clean, and love the blue/black combo.

My worse case was from a small Ninjago red bike set (bought new & MISB from a TRU clearance sale), which had 6 pieces of the 1x3 red plate missing .

Didn't bother asking TLG for replacement, just went to a local Lego shop and spent a few bucks to get them.

Reminds me of when I tried to buy Raptor Rampage from Amazon last year, it only took them 5 weeks to dispatch it.

But how weird... I had an equally odd dispatch notification from Amazon this morning that they had dispatched only 1 item in my 4 order item - because they waiting for the other 3 items to come back in stock.

Why is that odd? Because all 4 items were in stock when I ordered them and the 3 items that weren't dispatched are still in stock now. WTF Amazon!? Now I have to wait in for two parcels on 2 different days rather than wait in for one. Only reason I can think of (aside from laziness) is that the items are in different warehouses. Still...

Was the seller Amazon? As selecting "wrong size"/"defective" allows you to send the item back for free?

This makes me suspect error on our part, as one was certainly present and correct. I'd guess we mistook it for another single stud the instructions called for...

i also thought of sending it back for free! it was also amazon prime!

but amazon changed something in this regard this year! it was not amazon tough. but 3rd party seller offering amazon prime free shipping

    what a scam!

Ah, the dangers of using a 3rd party seller... Basically I only order if Amazon itself is the seller. The peace of mind is worth the extra cost to me.

Maybe it's more than people expect from Friends; the pastels and heart shaped electrons are to be expected

Mom found a lego city trucks board book for the 3 year old boy. I liked how that respected the importance of blue collar work rather than demeaning it in the name of jobs that require higher education.
