^Except for #4953 Fast Flyer (F-14 Tomcat), #5892 Sonic Boom (French Rafale) and my personal favorite #31039 Blue Power Jet (F-35 Lightening II).
The color schemes on those, combined with the lack of armaments, make it pretty clear that those particular aircraft have been repurposed from their wartime origins for civilian use (like many planes used in airshows with similarly colorful paint jobs). They don't qualify as "military" models anymore than a Jeep- or Hummer-style off-roader in Lego City does.

^Exactly, that's how Lego gets to skirt their own rule on 'no military'. Considering the F-35 only just entered service and declared combat ready by only 1 branch so far, so definitely no airshow version has ever been made or flown.

I assume you're joking but this is actually 100% true. A model of something that was designed for military use doesn't violate the warfare policy if it's plainly being used for something other than warfare. So fighter jets repurposed for air shows are fine, but a fully armed fighter jet bedecked in camo would be crossing a line. The same as how a LEGO City Jeep look-alike is fine as long as it's clearly based on a civilian Jeep rather than a military one. Or the same as how a rocket would be A-OK as long as it's delivering astronauts rather than a warhead. The idea that any vehicle designed for military use can never be anything but a military vehicle is silly.

Besides that, those are Creator sets, and unlike City, Creator sets do not necessarily occupy real-world or modern-day contexts.

    EDIT: Whoops, ninja'd.

Not necessarily a "series" or "theme" but one-off sets, here's a few "halfway there" sets:

    - Make the #10252 Volkswagen Beetle white, get rid of the stuff on the roof, and add a "53" sticker = The Love Bug.

    - Make the #31039 Blue Power Jet grey and add the upcoming #71248 Mission Impossible minifigure = Top Gun.

    - In the spirit of the upcoming #75159 The Death Star, replace the minifigures in the #70413 The Brick Bounty with a certain, famous gang of kids = The Goonies.

Now, seriously, I would love to see Thunderbirds (original, but will settle for the new "Are Go" series) and Stargate SG-1 themes.

I also want to add myself to all the historical series that many have suggested.

^ I'm pretty close to 16 historical CMFs.  To go with the costumed figures.

I am still hoping for a Futurama line...

I'm sure it's been said before by other people, but I would love some Star Trek Lego so much.

I don't care for Star Wars personally, but look at the sets thinking about all the ships, places, scenes from Star Trek that would make amazing Lego sets.

I'm sure my bank balance wouldn't be quite so happy to see Star Trek Lego though.

I also can't see it ever happening :(

Old school & newer for several sets (sorry for the repeats from previous posts):
    • Thundercats (Please!)
    • Power Rangers
    • Robotech
    • Transformers (yes, they're Kre-O)
    • Star Trek (yes, they're Kre-O)
    • Terminator (Please!)
    • Futurama (Please!)
    • Batman The Animated Series sets
    • The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
    • Pacific Rim
    • Hellboy (Please!)
    • The Flintstones
    • Planet of the Apes (Please!)
    One-shots (one set, etc.):
    • Law & Order (maybe crime scene and courtroom)
    • Scrubs (half a hospital floor)
    • Addams Family (the mansion)
    • The Munsters
    • King of the Hill
    • American Idol/America's Got Talent stage
I think that although 'any' property can provide enough for a set, that does not mean it's gonna be a good one.

^ok, Planet of the Apes would interest me...maybe Flintstones, too.....and Star Trek.

Lego could produce a lot of the other ideas without needing to pay for the license...unless of course we are just after the mini figures, which I'm sure is the motivating factor for many.

I'd love that, though I'm not sure what form would be best for realizing that. Obviously a lot of people would love minifigures, but I think brick-built characters might be the best option for recreating the characters' extremely diverse body proportions.

"What do you want to be when you grow up" theme, as a series of $10 small-box sets a la seasonal sets last year. Could feature a teacher, a nurse, a cook, a librarian, etc. at a place of their work.

... but it should skip policemen and firemen. Enough is enough. :-D

Any Family guy fans out here!?

Just quickly skimmed over this topic (100+ unread posts), but nobody has mentioned Family Guy. Now I know Southpark will never happen (even though I think it would be awesome), but I also love Family Guy, especially Stewie and Brian, my two favourite characters/duo from the show. Seeing what they did over at TLG with the Simpsons, I would love to see done with Family Guy. Imagine a time machine set with Stewie and Brian, or the entire house of the Griffins etc.

Chances of this happening? None if the show and humor are deemed too inappropriate.

@Shib mentioned Howl's Moving Castle, though I don't care for Dimensions (I don't have the game, or am interested in the add-on packs) I love the idea of a set based on that film/anime/cartoon.

I say this as an anime fan, anime is very niche.

i stand by my earlier statement, the best chance of any anime LEGO would be through Dimensions, and then it would likely be the better known anime like Ghibli films or Dragonball

I'd like to see a return of non-licensed Space and Pirates, plus some new City sub-themes that TLG haven't done before.

Not knocking the licensed stuff, which I often enjoy quite a bit, but I've always loved LEGO's originals. Classic Space, the first few years of Pirates and Castle, LEGOLAND sub-themes like Paradisa, etc.

I'm always ranting on about LEGO not having a windows "System".  But back in the 1958-67 era kids in continental Europe could go to their toy store and buy individual LEGO windows and doors from "214 1-10" Retailer Boxes at your local toy store.... ah those were the days!!  :-)

They may not have had a lot of specialty parts back then... but you could buy pretty much any windows or right/left doors to build what you wanted to.

Unfortunately today we have certain color windows in one size, but not others.  Too bad TLG didn't come out with a system (more window types too).... of say 5 window colors, and made them all the windows available those specific colors.

Whenever I see the Ole Kirk House model... I cringe at the fact that the smaller first floor windows are the back of headlight bricks.... instead of actual windows (like the 1x1x1 windows shown above in red and white).

Today we have so many colors of different parts... and nothing matches together!  :-(

I would really like to see a series of small "seasonal/vignette" style sets focusing on different countries and cultures from around the world. Also I think a make your own mosaic set offered through s&h would be awesome. You could download a pic to Legos website, pick from a few different sizes and effects. Lego would then send you the appropriate pieces and instructions to create your own mosaic.

Avatar: The Last Airbender & The Legend of Korra! Great shows made for adults even though they're aimed at kids, and there's so much material that is ripe for LEGO sets...vehicles, locations, detailed minifigures...and the classic good vs evil storyline. LEGO would (and should) chew it up

Yeah, as a modern architecture enthusiast, it would be great if there was a reasonable way to do angled clerestory windows, but you'd need different elements for different positions across the span, and even then you'd still be locked into that roof angle.

Re: colors, though, keep in mind, even in the real world, windows are typically not available in a lot of different colors. Lower end manufacturers might only have white, where higher end ones have wood, white, dark brown, maybe tan. Commercial windows often have black frames. So there isn't a giant range of colors available.

I agree about the little 1x1 windows on Ole Kirk's house, although at least they did that rather than not replicating them at all.

I would like to see a reboot of the Castle theme but with a classic Fairy Tale orientation. Ideally something fancy targeting AFOLs, but with playable features so kids could enjoy them too. Ideally not overly "disneyfied," with more of a classic romantic literature aesthetic. Examples might be Sleeping Beauty's castle, Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs in their forest cottage, Hansel & Gretel's candy house, Rapunzel in her tower, Little Red Riding Hood, The Firebird... I also think Alice in Wonderland would make some fantastic playsets/display models.
