    Kinda random but just came from a Destiny match in which Mark Stafford was on the opposition. Game crashed and didn't get to add him as a friend though.

    Happy about my most recent box opening:

    Neat glue separation, no rips or bent cardboard. Can't think of any way this could be better. All with one small knife.
    What's everyone else's box opening method (if any)?

    I try my hardest to preserve the boxes. I think the speed building games commonly held at brick conventions are evil- they don't let you open the boxes beforehand.

    Harry Potter world, spread across the two Universal parks in Orlando.  So wishing I hadn't been in the dark world when HP was out.  Even more upset that my oldest might actually have gotten into Lego if I'd bought some of those HP sets.

    On another note, who has got any of the large HP sets to trade?  New theme coming up...

    This is my feeling as well. Sorting takes forever! I go through phases of sorting and then I get bored....!

    Ouch! That's like my moving house experience. I find my sets from Amazon are always well-packaged and treated respectfully. Prime membership might be the key there maybe (At least in the UK)?

    I slit tape seals with a pocketknife; I'll push down on the tab of smaller boxes. I just recycle boxes - I flatten them with a finger along the glue seam and use a box cutter to break the bigger ones into halves or quarters. Clean and simple all around.

    @KingAlanI I soaked it in hot soapy water for a while. Some of it was really dirty. I then scrubbed it as best I could. I put it in my disposable pan and added peroxide until it was just about covered. I let it sit in the sun for 4 hours or so, stirring it every hour. 

    I'm curious to see if the faded yellow comes back.

    Sounds like a usual cleaning process before the H2O2, good to know

    just finished stage/bag's 10 of GBHQ.
    i could build it faster but i trying to take my time with it.
    also trying to work out how to display it.
    i have some ideas. but other stuff may have to be moved.
    in other news i placed a order for "Technic #42043 Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245 Truck"
    so part from some Technic set's i got back in 2008 or so. i have not had a lot of experience with Technic. should i buy some small and midsize set's before trying the #42043 or jump in head first at the deep end?

    i waiting for a better deal on the BWE.
    £30 off is good.  but i know that there will be better offers later on. 
    i hoping for £120 or better for the BWE.

    i had a look at the Instructions for #42043 online and it looks like a long hard build.

    Bought Brick Depot's "The Lego Neighborhood" book from Barnes and Noble today.  Fun little book to dip into and looking forwad to building the modulars this autumn.

    Their service is good, I get free replacements for 2 of the 3 sets.

    Going to our nearest LEGO Store for the first time tomorrow!

    I'm not actually sure there's anything I want at the moment, but I'll definitely be picking up the VIP Creator Tiger for my daughter.

    Watch this space to see if I manage to come out of the store without anything for myself...

    true i am bad at saving up cash. but i can and do save up from time to time.
    GBHQ has been on my planned to buy this month for the last 5 months.
    could i have got it sooner if i got no other lego set's with in that 5 months? well yes. i could have.

    Just so chuffed for the ladies, they fought so hard to stay in with a chance, the Dutch were so impressive in attack but Hinch was incredible. What a great result.

    That's pretty impressive - going to a Lego shop planning to buy nothing but pick up a freebie. Not giving you good odds on that one, especially if it's your first visit to the Lego Store. It's worse than an Apple Store for infectious expenditure!

    Just to close the loop from my post about instruction storage a week ago.

    Here's the final product: large and medium instructions with accompany small instructions (e.g. trains) in the large boxes, small and extra-small (e.g. polybags) in small boxes.

    @snowhitie post enticed me to add the tabs with the set numbers.

    I've been doing some organizing myself. Regrettably it is just emptying my study/library  to make room for my husband's office when he starts his own business in a couple of months. seeing all this space kind of just wants me to take it up and make it into a Lego room. Does he really need  an office?

    You'd probably find it a better introduction to Technic than the Arocs because the mechanisms aren't so complicated or deeply embedded.
