I support this. I own...a couple (yeah, let's go with "a couple"...that sounds like a reasonable number that isn't too far from the truth [cough...seven, I own seven])...to do the same thing. I started construction of the larger, modular-styled, Avengers tower this week.
You have me beat as I only have 5.  I used 2 and a half to make a 7 floor building including a larger lobby.  Other 2 sets are stored away incase I want to modify it some more one day.  Definitely a fun set to mod.  Make sure to share a picture when you are done with yours.

To each their own, but I'm not going to complain about it. We all know that was a little too good to be true. The only thing that put me off was the canceled order without any notification. I also received a message this morning informing me of what happened though.  And with that, all is right in my world.

I agree, I actually told them several times if it was a mistake just own up and say that.  I only got irritated when they told me I canceled it and then left me on hold forever after changing their story several times.

We received the explanatory email this morning too.  When we ordered I didn't question the price.  I thought that Amazon was liquidating the set for some reason, like the ones left over from the prime day sale or damaged boxes.   I hadn't considered an algorithm misfire, learn something new everyday :)

I wonder if they evaluate purchase histories to identify possible re-sellers.

I have to imagine they evaluate purchase history for just about any customer service matter but this seems to be pure pricing mistake.  I haven't heard of anyone that actually had one ship at that price.

A friend that ordered one for me got a shipping notice.  Says it will arrive tomorrow, so we'll see.  Out of 6 people (including myself) that made orders, hers was the only one not cancelled.  Was the only one bought without Prime, and the other 5 were all made from my work location so it is possible the IP showed up the same for all the orders but the were 5 different accounts, addresses, and credit cards so if they cancelled for same IP they are really getting anal.

I got mine. I think one of the third party sellers had it at that price and triggered Amazon's auto pricing bots. It happens from time to time.

MF 75105 on sale for $119.99 (20% off). Is this set worth it if I have the most recent one?  I'm kinda a conpletionist and a good way for me to get BB-8 and older Han. Thoughts?
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
^I'm guessing that set will be the only way to get an Old Han for a long time, if ever. But BB-8 has already appeared in multiple other sets and probably will in more to come, so he shouldn't be the deciding factor. The other notables from that set are the 2 Kanjiklub gangsters, but they can be bought for cheap on Bricklink.

But in terms of the MF ship itself vs. 7965, I much prefer 7965. The builds are close to identical, but the appearance suffers for 75105 with weathered look they were going for.

legoleppy With all the new movies lined up, I think they will be making versions of MF for years and years to come.

But 20% off is a nice deal. I mean, it's not 27%, but still good. If you will find joy in it, grab it!

I am in MD. I'm assuming they are $74 in store? If so I'm going tomorrow. Online they matched amazons price. Does anyone have a side by side with the 2 MF?

Check the Walmart app to see if there is any in stock at your local store.  If there is great, if not find one near you that has them for $74, and have them price match in store, they will usually do this. Brickseek is also a great source to see if a certain set is in stock at your local store.  Good luck!

I bought the new Millennium Falcon for $104 from Amazon Warehouse Deals. The box will be banged up, but I'm just happy to have a good deal on the set! Stores near me never have great clearance, so I really don't think I'll be able to get a better price.

FYI they still have a few at this price on Warehouse Deals for anyone interested.

They can get it to me the next day when I went through the buying process. Does that mean it's in Stock?  It's still 119

It may be, you never know about Walmart stock. I'd call the store or check brick seek.

According to the Walmart app, they have them in Stock but still listed at 119. How do I get the MF for $74?
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
That is an in store clearance price. Not online. Check your local store(s)

I also received my UCS TIE Fighter today. The box was in surprisingly good condition.

Probably save this one for Christmas time building :)

Walmart doesn't have consistent clearance pricing. It's up to the store. I found the Hulkbuster set for $15 today at one and at the next Walmart is was full price.

^that sums it up. Every Walmart is different.
  • cloaked7cloaked7 Member Posts: 1,448
^  Walmart will price match with competitors, but not with other Walmarts.  :-)  I live close to a couple of them and frequent both and will see lots of items priced differently from store to store.  And, yeah... mark downs are very store specific.  It's that way with Kroger Marketplace too.
  • not12fallnot12fall Member Posts: 65
I hate dealing with walmart.  I was in one in Orlando and tried to price match with amazon.  They did the whole, "we don't match prime pricing."  Then I pulled up Walmart .com and tried to get that price, which was the same as the Amazon price.  Manager wanted me to put it in the online shopping cart in order to "know what to charge" me.  She was trying to make me pay for shipping, so I had to argue with her that Walmart has free pick up at store and I was already standing in the store.  Wasn't until I threatened to return the ice cream that was softening as she tried to put me through the hoops before she honored the online price.  However, the clearance pricing I was getting closer to home was really good. So, I find myself continuing to walk through the door despite the awful customer service.  But I won't go back to that Orlando store.

yoyo.com (affiliate of Amazon) has what appears to be a LEGO Star Wars promo going on. Keep an eye on the prices, but most appear to be around or under retail + a 15% off if you buy two or more sets  (max discount appears to be $40)

The $22.49 power functions are sold out but they are supposed to get more stock in a few days so check back. Earlier today, a different seller had them for $25, which is still a decent price.

While pricey it appears LEGO has the right idea of the SW calendar: a good amount of figures and droids.. now if it were just 25-30 USD...
