@bobabricks, you could use Rebrickable.com, create a private project, then choose to import LXF file. From there you can use Rebrickable to export the results to BrickLink. The added advantage is that if the brick don't currently exist as far as Rebrickable knows, it will give you a list & ask if you want to change those parts.

@bobabricks - Very nice. I've been binge watching AT for the past week and I was actually thinking about doing a build of this as well, for once the Dimensions figs come out. I might take some inspiration from your work here.

Me: I'm about to start building the case for DFB Soccer minifigs, can you double check first on the Germany flag's colors being Black, Yellow, Red?

Girlfriend: You don't even like Soccer! But yeah just checked on Google and those are the colors.

2 days later... after finishing said case.

Me: I got the flag colors wrong! They are Black, Red and then Yellow!!!

    Girlfriend: Haha... was google wrong??

Me: OMG *shakes fist in air*

Finally getting around to the Javelin and Darkseid's Invasion:

  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,577

Well, it looks good, but Darkseid falls off it too easily. That cannon has some serious range! Nearly took my daughter's eye out! Beware:

Also, my youngest got hold of the minifigs:

    Seats for all three heroes:

Although, to be honest, only one of them actually needs one...

^ Oops. There are four heroes in this set. I suppose Hawkman wouldn't want to be cooped up! Dad pun! Very weak pun. Almost not a pun. Anyway...

The shape is getting there now:

And the trans blue and white colour scheme is giving me some serious Classic Space vibes.

    Ta da!

There are some excellent techniques on display in this set. I won't spoil the build for others who might buy this, but the nose is very interesting, the wings are cool, the Super Jumper mechanism actually works! There may even be space for all four heroes inside - if Hawkman took his wings off, or Batman or Wonder Woman joined in.

Heartily recommended, especially as it's a bit cheaper at the moment!

Right, off to watch a superhero movie now!

^^Nice! I have the original 2005 yellow one (got it when I was about 12). I waited months for it to arrive by DHL and I was so miffed when I found out R2 had no body! Glad to see they've remedied that problem in later revisions. Though, that said, I don't remember R4 having a body in the films!

This has been on the cards for some time now and finally got around to designing it, a rural fire appliance based loosely on a SACFS 34. That's an appliance with 3000L water tank with 4WD, used by the South Australian Country Fire Service.

^ That looks ace. Clean lines, beefy looking with a great rear end!

That wasn't intended as a euphemism, but somehow it got there!

@Bricklover18 Isn't that just a touch annoying being in front of the screen like that?
  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,577
^ I changed mine around so that the largest were all at one side and put it at the edge of my TV. That way it didn't stick up into the screen. Aesthetically, it's not quite as appealing, but I would really hate my TV to be obscured.
  • Bricklover18Bricklover18 Member Posts: 722
@bobabricks it's not that bad actually, and the tv isn't used that much so it's not distracting.

Had a little time this morning so I built #31010. I chose the main build of the treehouse, which was enjoyable. Up next is to finish #75059, which is probably 80ish percent complete.

still working on #8635 Mobile Command Center. Got a good start on #8633 Speedboat Rescue and #8968 River Heist. All three are jumbled together in the same lot, along with a bunch of Millennium Falcon parts, making it a bit of a challenge.

Looks great, but what is an "Overlord Dragon"? Is it a character from Ninjago that hasn't been released as a set yet?
  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,577

Scratch that, just did a better Google and I'm guessing it's from the 'Overlord' Japanese fantasy light novel/manga/anime...

  • BillyBricks84BillyBricks84 Member Posts: 355
After making time randomly over the last few weeks, I was finally able to finish #75059. The Sandcrawler has definitely had the most detail to it of any set I have put together so far. I love the winches, especially the one that folds up from the main section of the vehicle and can reach over either side to pick up items. Building this helped to reinforce for me how much my brain just doesn't work like that of someone who designs these sets because I would have never come up with some of the intricate combinations of technic and regular bricks to create these movable parts. I wish the booklet had more information about the actual design process instead of the brief interview about the Sandcrawler in general.

I think it's the overlord at the end of season 2 of ninjago. the character was released, but in his tripod form at the end of season 3.

building the carousel, taken me a year to get the parts together, wasn't prepared to spend stupid money on either the green base or the sound brick so covered a grey base in green plates, which gives it extra strength, and replaced sound brick with standard bricks- conclusion, i hate it! i'm building and checking the motor after each stage and it works ok then bits fall off and down the gaps in the base so you have to lift the whole lot to get the bits out and rebuild again, then when you think you've cracked it again the motor still works but it doesn't spin properly- got to the stage where i don't want to finish it now, so have decided to put it away until winter and start again.
really disappointed as i was looking forward to this build, but seriously considered binning it a couple of times.
I will finish it but when i'm not so mad with it !

Still waiting on parts for Mortesv's Nebulon-B and Rebel transport models but I did receive enough parts for the scale 1/250 Millennium Falcon. I should post a photo of it beside an old #4488 that I have. The size is about the same but the detail is extremely different.

@ecmo47 if that is your design I would love a few more pictures from different angles to work out how it is built. I grabbed a clearance copy of that microfighter with intentions of doing something like that but haven't got around to it yet. That one looks great!
  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,577
    ^ seconded!
  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,577

After a bit of a google (and noticing mortesv mentioned) I did a quick Google and I reckon the Millennium Falcon comes from Tim Goddard - photos on flickr - with "the cockpit from the microfighters set and ... the cockpit tube a bit longer".

Ooh, just found @ecmo47 posting further down the thread. Thanks for sharing on here as well!

  • ecmo47ecmo47 Member Posts: 2,101
Yes, the MF is basically Tim Goddard's modified by Mortesv and then by me. Since the plans are part of Nebulon B package produced and sold by Cjd223, it would not be cool to post them separately. I'll post a few more pictures and you can reverse engineer all you want.

    part way done with #70321
just 1 bag left to go.
for the size of the box it comes in it not as big as would of liked but it still a nice sized model. and i found the build to this point to be fun.
then again i find i have a big week point for nexo knights.
i don't know if it's linked to the point that it reminds me of "Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light" or that it is that it was the 1st new theme to be made by lego after i came out of my dark age and there for can get all of it's set's and under RRP. or why i find my self unable to stop my self from loving Nexo Knights.

anyhow i will finish the build later.

^Looking good! I still need another 1200 parts or so...
  • ecmo47ecmo47 Member Posts: 2,101
My last order finally got shipped so I may be able to start the Neb in a week or so. I think I have the parts for a 2nd transport so may crank out another one in the mean time. Should be MUCH easier now that I have a physical reference. The LDD was a floating part nightmare!
