    I think this was $275.00 well spent... now I just need to figure out how to less-modularize it.

    ^ Yupper.  He also had a Fire Brigade and a Parisian Restaurant.  Pretty reasonable prices, but I've got multiples of both.

    Instead of putting the Town Hall in line with the other modulars, it's going to be a stand-alone building.  Thus, the 48x48 footprint won't look quite right.

    I have two town hall sets. I'd like to eventually do something  like that. I assume two should be at least a good start.

    It may be. Sometimes I think I breathe enough random drug dust throughout the day in the pharmacy it has to affect me somehow =)

    Went Salisbury fire station's "first Sunday of the month" car boot sale before I went to work and picked up 10 Lego poly-bags:-
    2 x #5625 plus #30008 #4899 #7798 #30083 #30012 #30042 #7799 #8033 all 10 for the grand sum of, (after a bit of a haggle), £18 and the best bit is I didn't have any of these in my poly-bag collection, but I do now :)
    (On a none Lego note my son picked up a massive box of Warhammer 40k stuff for £40 plus a Ork Stomper for a fiver from a different seller which he sold on Facebook for £38 + postage)

    Was in the local Kmart today and they had a bunch of old stock out on the shelves. However, most of them were close to full price but were hanging out on the top-top shelf. They had a #60036, #60035, #31026 among others. Some of the boxes didn't look that great though.

    After years and years of being absent in the great world of Lego i'm finally back.

    In a few days i'll be having a son, and decided a few weeks ago to have a look at toys already and what's all out there. And saw the same day a post of just a few minutes old in a local Facebookgroup of an Lady selling her sons Lego for 350,- CHF

    Only a few pictures of sorted boxes and a pile of books, but hey why not. Asked her if i could take it along in the train, which she deemed impossible, so borrowed a car and to my disappointed only saw like 20 bags and no sorting boxes, from small plastic bags going up to the known big blue IKEA bags filled with all kinds of things, a few partials but mostly everything nicely separated and mixed all parts regardless of size or series. And a stack with instructions of about 40cm high, no guarantees on all pieces being there, and unfortunately no minifigures except 30 set of legs a few torso's and a few has but still a of of personal items like weapons, hats etc..(he used them as soldiers and burned them in the war.....) So yeah, but still seemed like a good deal.

    First sorted at color, then every color into diff categories into 170 storageboxes i got from IKEA in the cheapest sets possible, because piling on the floor made the house impossible. And then decided to start with Bionicle since they are so easy to get together and build (Really enjoyed the Rockoh K3) After about 7 sets i had a huge pile left of Bionicle parts but no more instructions, so of to Starwars something i been looking for to do for all my life but never serious enough to actually start doing, sorting sets together ain't fun and takes a lot of time, but building sets together with my wife makes up for al of it. And while sorting came to this site, which is of huge help (thanks all) By now i'm out of Star wars instructions, but have a nice set if i may say so myself. So wondering if i should start with the technics sets, City, Spacepolice or some of the 70's/80's set for 4+ :D There's still tons of pieces left (forsure another 10.000 i think) of all sets build up to now i'm missing about 30 simple standard pieces that can be caught for just a few cents, and the rest is used but all still in good shape.

    So can i brag about this sale, yeah i surely think so :)

    And it will take years before the boy can play with it, but daddy had his fun already, and i'm really looking forward to especially buy a lot of the bigger Star Wars sets, since they are a true pleasure to build and enjoy. And i would love your help in the end in recognising some parts for if i have sets left in the remaining bricks after i have gone by the rest of the instructions.

    I sometimes wonder if it's worse to hear people who actually have no clue and often fail to adres their problem correctly, or having to deal with the managers on the bigger IT projects, who believe that adding one function is 5 seconds of work (hey i only am asking for an extra button) not knowing that it already demands 3 extra tables in the db for such functionality.

    I found two each of the below sets for 70% off at my local Target a couple months ago.

    #70746 Condrai Copter Attack ($9 ea.)
    #70748 Titanium Dragon ($12 ea.)
    #70749 Enter the Serpent ($18 ea.)

    After walking halfway to the register with one of each, I put them all back because I decided a bunch of random parts I didn't necessarily want weren't worth $50 and because someone else would likely get better use out of them as sets.

    No Transporter in the Walmarts nearby, but one that is gonna be close to where I'm going to go tomorrow has it for $21 (according to BrickSeek), so I'll check it out.

    I just do not understand why people continue to sell these collections at such low prices.
    A quick internet search shows just how much some of this lego is worth.
    The Knight Bus alone is selling for what you paid for the whole bundle....
    The Eiffel Tower is priced at 10 times the amount you paid for the bundle???

    Just like Sprinkleotter said, don't know, don't care, quick money, no hassle with sending sets etc.. I'm still building things and sorting of my lot from weeks ago, and indeed if i would put a picture of what i've build so far on Ricardo/Ebay and all remaining stuff i could go on a very nice holiday of the profit (Not happening, tho i might sell the bionicle stuff to just get the investment back, and have all the rest for free) And i found mine in a local facebook group. Ebay and such attract way to much people, local groups and such in my opinion have a lot of sellers whom have no clue, act quick, offer cash and immediate pick up and you can get so much for so little money.

    And lets not forget that most of these huge lots are often a huge mess, a bunch of bags with loose tiles and a pile of books and no-one who guarantees that a single thing is complete. We don't mind the sorting and ordering some missing parts, but if i look at the time and the difference in value after everything is sorted it's financially actually a better deal to spend that time on working and just ordering complete sets, my lot is way over 20.000 pieces and hardly any piece connected to another and all mixed up, we actually have the time and can use the money since this or next week our baby will be coming. But i doubt if i ever would do this again. If you take the time along than most lots are indeed no more or less than a huge pile with a fair kilo price.

    Usually when I have purchased bulk lots it is for the pieces for me. I don't have time to assemble sets.

    Good point.  Sometimes even when I know I got really good value on a CL lot, I wish I hadn't bought it, because I'm too lazy to do the work to realize the value from it.  People sometimes forget to attach $$$ to their time in doing the cost analysis on these things, myself included. 

    Although, I'd definitely put the work in for most of the scores I read about in this thread!

    when finding it, all those childhood memories popped up. sometimes as a child, i was browsing the lego catalogue for hours. pointing out sets i might want. 
    this set was on my list. cool figs, asthetically pleasing looks!
