    I wish I can afford to have a backlog...
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,729
    Don't have much of one at the moment. That said, I have ordered City Square and another Cargo Train along with Dr Who and a few Dimension packs for the figures to my US address. Trying not to get too much at once as I am sure my family is already shaking their heads every time another box shows up for them to put into storage for me. In two to three years when I get back to the US I will probably have quite a few sets backlogged.

    My 5 yr old nephew came over yesterday and I showed him my 'magic Lego room' where I keep my stack of sets on deck for building. His jaw just dropped upon entering the large walk-in closet to see a few hundred boxes neatly lined and stacked up. In slow motion with eyes as wide as a saucer "You. Have. Got. To. Be. Kidding. Me!"
    You tease!

    To be honest, photos of collections of official sets do nothing for me.

    On the contrary, it's interesting to see that people have things they want to build, and hope to build, despite not being able to. There are people that will go out tomorrow and buy something new, despite the fact they've already got enough to keep them going for a couple of years. That's enthusiasm.

    Do you mean buying (LEGO) rocks, or getting LEGO in 14 pound increments? Yes, alcohol and the Internet don't mix. :)

    I built #41104 Pop Star Dressing Room, I designated several sets as gifts, and I was contacted on BrickLink about another. I have 4 #10692 LEGO Creative Bricks that I'll probably open for my own stockpile. I'll likely put #60090 Deep Sea Scuba Scooter with my underwater stuff. I'm inclined to build #41100 Heartlake Private Jet. I may renovate my airport to go with that. Come to think of it, I've been planning to renovate an RV MOC for awhile.

    I'm so excited - I actually have a backlog now! :D Sitting here eyeballing the Mountain Hut in its box, feeling like a kid with a brand new set again. I'm waiting for my partner to have a day off (and for us to get through various paperwork chores, sigh) so we can build it together.

    Still haven't gotten around to #41100. Probably will open #30115 at the same time.
    I made a checkerboard still haven't worked on chess pieces or gotten 2x2's out for checkers.
    I want to build a US flag mosaic large enough to have distinct stars. I once planned a massive one and got a lot of parts for it. This will be a manageable version to design and build.

    so i decided
    i need to get a better idea and handle on what my backlog looks like.

    the follow are any set that is unopened or part done but still have bag's left in it.

    not in the image as i forgot about them are
    6x Mixels #41541, #41544, #41538, #41537, #41543, #41548
    3x summer Fun #30397
    1x winter soldier # 6119216

    this is what it looks like.

    this is the biggest i have ever had my backlog,
    i should take a image of what my spare parts supply looks like.
    i should also catalog that spare parts supply to.

    Backlog... yeah I have one one them! I have more sets than just these, but these are the ones I actually still have tentative plans to build some day, instead of just storing them away for a giant scalping cash-in (http://brickset.com/sets/10219-1/Maersk-Train
    http://brickset.com/sets/10020-1/Santa-Fe-Super-Chief)

    Most of the back log is in the Star Wars theme; not coincidentally my favorite theme. I have a couple more sets in their box still unbuilt, but they are doubles of sets I have built. These sets are starting to intimidate me, because I'm seeing more and more sets I haven't built being EOL'ed AND surpassed by newer versions, some of which themselves having been EOL'ed (looking at you, AT-AT's). Undoubtedly, some of these sets might just have to move to the cash-in section, just because the market value of some of these is getting so high, it'll feel like I am destroying value by just opening the boxes...

    Here's my newest one, already on the back log, mostly due to time and size constraints.

    My hope is that in a couple of years, my son will appreciate the sets I've kept... Currently though, he's 5 weeks old (hence the time constraints :) )

    Oh in that case, nothing to see here folks =)

    I like seeing how others have stored or displayed their Lego, along with the spaces they have for building. It gives me a sense of proportion when thinking about my own Lego habits. I'm probably similar to others in the space I have to display (hardly any) and the area I can work in (dining room table) and the place I store my Lego (under-eaves closet). But I like to see alternates.

    My own list of stuff waiting to be built is pretty much all my big stuff (plus a couple I forgot I'd bought):

    10179 Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon 10221 Super Star Destroyer  10030 Imperial Star Destroyer 76042 The SHIELD Helicarrier 75060 Slave I 75095 TIE Fighter 10240 Red Five X-wing Starfighter 10248 Ferrari F40 76028 Darkseid Invasion

    My backlog is getting out of hand...

    #79014 Dol Guldur Battle

    And seeing as it hasn't arrived yet from the eBay seller, I don't foresee any change in the immediate future...

    The one between the Lego bags is Kwik-E-Mart, and the one in the closet is UCS tie fighter.

    My backlog is mostly unsorted parts in 4 25-gallon storage tubs, and a couple dozen partially assembled sets stored in zip-lock bags. Based on odd-ball parts, or combinations of parts, I've guesstimated 200 sets in those tubs, knowing that some are definitely incomplete. There's a 25-gallon tub full of Bionicle parts too, but I need acquire lots of part#2780 connector pegs, as these seem to be missing from a lot of my thrift-store Bionicle finds.

    Building or buying? Building is none existent (as aside from a few sets I'm purposely not building and polybags) everything else has been touched or built at some point and returned to storage.

    Buying, however.... *shudder*

    Looking through this thread makes me realize I still have much to do to catch most of you...

    First, I have the abandoned old 90s LEGO sets that I rescued from storage (I will make a new thread once I'm finish, in a couple of weeks) and that I am still in the processes of cleaning and whitening. Hopefully within the next two weeks I'll make a post about it, and definitely lots of photos:

    #6350 Pizza To Go
    #6402 Sidewalk Cafe
    #6345 Aerial Acrobats
    #6670 Wrecker
    #6277 Imperial Trading Post (I doubt I have all the pieces)
    #6552 Rocky River Retreat
    #6020 Magic Shop
    #6042 Dungeon Hunter
    *I am sure I have other sets, since I have a lot of Castle figures and the ladder for a fire truck, but we'll see

    Now, the sets that I have been accumulating, I mean, collecting in the past two years or so:

    #10186 General Grievous
    #75109 Obi-Wan Kenobi
    #75083 AT-DP
    #75106 Imperial Assault Carrier
    #76005 Spider-Man Daily Bugle Showdown
    #76013 Joker Steam Roller

    I have more sets but I do not plan on assembling them at the moment (Jabba's Palace, Rancor Pit, etc.). I first need to clean up and make space in my room. I also would like some City sets, like the stores and shops, but that's for the next year or so when I get to have a bit more disposable income.

    Wow @VorpalRyu and @xiahna  Nice backlog!  Little jealous you still have that list of modulars to go yet!  When you have a Lego room will you have room to display everything?

    @tallblocktoo, we're hoping to have enough room, the question is which room to convert... My preferred option is win the lotto & build a house with a dedicated Lego room, but Oz Lotteries has something against rigging it.

    My backlog.  Don't really have any "plan" at the moment:

    * The entire LOTR/Hobbit collection (I built all of these already when I parted out sets way back when, but kept one of each sealed for myself for later)
    * Simpson's House
    * Kwik-e-Mart
    * UCS Sandcrawler
    * #10188 Death Star
    * Ewok Village
    * UCS B-Wing
    * Brick Bank (probably next "big" set on my build list, as the rest of the Modulars are on display in my house
    * Ninjago Temple of Airjitsu
    * #70728 Battle of Ninjago City
    * #70505 Temple of Light
    * (really kicking myself for not keeping 1 of the 5 Fire Temples I sold off years ago)
    * about 5 random medium size city sets

    Looking at the lists here and realizing that my 'backlog' is a rather small pile compared to most...

    Backlog includes:

    Entire Winter 2016 Bionicle Lineup (sans #71310 who was built the day he was purchased)
    #42030 Remote-Controlled Volvo
    #70730 Chain Cycle Ambush
    #70734 Master Wu Dragon
    #70730 The King's Mech
