Family visiting in July, so some of the LEGO space has to get reined in.  Kiddo and I broke down a Minecraft crafting box and our AT-AT today.

Man, I can't wait to get a new place with a dedicated LEGO room.

My Saturday's going to be spent dismantling and sorting all my Lego before moving in with the girlfriend.. Unfortunately I can't take it all with me until I get a dedicated Lego room!
Bought a binder to keep all the instructions together, about 50 zip lock bags and Netflix to keep me entertained

^ complain, complain, complain! Get a new one, get that one returned for free and ask for compensation for the inconvenience (Amazon vouchers - about a tenner would do I think). But I know you already know this...

Lego belt buckle is made and seems pretty secure. After experimenting with some minifigs it looks like cragl will be required. 2 stuff just isn't enough clutch

Sorting through the latest thrift lot. #8635 Agents Mobile Command Center mixed with a Millennium Falcon, Vader's TIE Fighter, #8968 River Heist and a bunch of other stuff I have yet to identify.

It works!  I know thats not the right legs on iron man, just a test.  Going to make a set with black legs and white legs, the just change the body and head.  Not 100% perfect but im not cragling all my minifigs to plates :)

^ The ever-important question- how much?

Looks like mostly "meh" to me, but cheap LEGO parts are cheap LEGO parts...
  • VorpalRyuVorpalRyu Member Posts: 2,318
Yesterday, spent the better part of the first day of my 40th year hunting for Disney CMFs, unfortunately, to no avail. Then spent the rest of the day sorting out BrickLink wanted lists & moving parts of the collection into our future Lego room. Happy birthday to me...

Complete failure at finding desired Disney CMFs via feel method. Not sure what happened to my skills but could not find a Cheshire Cat to save my life.
  • brumeybrumey Member Posts: 1,002
    it happened.
i paid more than RRP for a set!
    #10228 haunted house

me thinks it will only rise in value!

Maybe you already tried, but this is what worked for me:
    - Look for minilegs; also, if you feel any accessory, discard.
    - If head has antenna (easy to feel) = Alien
    - If head has big ears (they stand out) = Stitch
    - No antenna, no big ears = Cheshire Cat :-)

    Status: Puzzled!

Opened #31026 Bike Shop & Café and 2/3 into sorting the pieces realized that two of the big bags have identical content (the one with the stairs) and, of course, one is missing :-(

I guess a call to customer service is in order.

Five hours into the 911 GT3RS build. Had a day off yesterday to get started and a bit of time tonight. Nearly finished box 1. Dug out #8853 thats now 28 years old for a size comparison!

Had a Lego dream, not the one about finding great sets at discounts. It was about realising there were extra German footballers and trying to complete collections for crazy money.

One was called Geber. Not sure where I got that name...

Feeling optimistic today :) Was organizing a couple shoe boxes of random parts and found a bag full of dark bluish 45 2x2 slopes with the danger stripe pattern.  I totally had forgotten I bought these many years ago. Kind of shocked at the price of some of the recent sales on Bricklink for such a small part (looks like they only were available on the UCS Y-Wing).

Someone over here recently bought the Nexo Knights Fortrex, and found some bags missing with multiples of 1 other bag. Looks to be an inside job at the packing line where the worker packed them this way so it will still pass the weighing check.

Maybe they had 1 or 2 unsatisfied employees. I wonder if the manufacturing is done in china.

^I think Lego helped fake the moon landing too.

Well, I decided to e-mail them yesterday about the issue and got a response this morning asking for more information. I sent them a list of all the parts missing, 140+ pieces. Waiting for a response.

The problem is that my working area (read: dining table) is covered with all the (nicely) sorted bricks and there is no space to work on a different set (I need my LEGO fix!).

I guess tomorrow I'll put the pieces in little ziplock bags (OK, cheap-knockoff brand), so I can work on other sets while I wait for this issue to be resolved.

Nobody is perfect, so as long as they send me the missing parts I am OK :-)

On the bright side: Who's ready to pick up (or order) their promo set tomorrow? I am taking a long lunch to drive to the LEGO store for it.

Just placed another five Bricklink orders for my LEGO Brand Store (Modular Building.) I have about a quarter left to design; back of the second floor and the entire top floor. This project has cost quite tons of money and time; hopefully it will be worth it in the end :)

WIP; not much, but it gives you a hint of what's to come otherwise there won't be surprises left when it's done ;)

My goal is to post it online August 2nd, I may have to drop '75827 - Ghostbusters, Firehouse Headquarters' and a couple of other sets from my August wishlist to cover the parts cost :/

a dream i had last night is buggling me:

its about the reggae ninja's (a red, yellow and green ninja) fighting against an evil 4 armed 2 headed jester, who is summoning all the monsters from the lego universe!

I just built my copy of #5004419 - Classic Knights Minifigure and realised it's missing a '4211135 - Roof Tile 1X2/45°' and an extra '383926 - Mini Handle.' My guess that is due to it having a resealable bag which is likely been hand packed or similar like most of the other larger promo kits. Missing a piece and an extra piece in one set; that is pretty cool and a first for me!

    my Lego status today is!

still paying back my mother the money i borrowed from her the last 4 months.
so no new lego buy's this week.
in other news. i have £130 of ("wishing to get") shelving in my ikea shopping Basket before shipping cost. (about £35) that is just a wish, as i have no cash to get it with.
again this is down to still paying back my mother.
of that is the cheap wight shelving that cost £18 for this.
so £130 is a lot of shelving. and it is sadly going to stay a wish. for the next about 3 months.

@SamJ I can recommend getting Lunar Boxes from Amazon; this size is £8.99 with free delivery. I bought them after reading a very detailed, glowing review on there from an AFOL with a massive collection and they've lived up to that promise.

It's very handy to be able to take out the small subdividers, because if you find you've got more of a particular part than you thought, you can just double the space you allot to it. I got them in order to sort the smallest pieces - at the moment I'm using them for any non-brick element that is 2x2 or smaller, and for bricks in 2x1 and 1x1 sizes. I probably won't use them for larger plates and bricks, but they're perfect for all the tiny bits. I could see them being very useful for minifigs too.
