The #60097 is 36% off now and has gotta drive people nuts that bought it for retail, then again it may be that cheap because few bought it for retail. Wonder how much lower it will go on Amazon.

Also #60052 Cargo train is 123.99 (38% off)
#31050 Corner Deli is 30.64 (23% off)- though yoyo.com has a promo right now where it is 32.51 and you can get another 20% with a promo code.
#31048 Lakeside Lodge is 25.24, but also is available in the 20% promo code so you can get that one for 2 around 20.

Reminder that yoyo.com right now has a bunch of themes on a promo for 20% off a set. No limit to the promo and you can buy apparently as many sets as you like and get that promo, but only for select sets. Expires on 5/30

Ahh, it appears Walmart has some sales going on and Amazon is price matching.
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
City square was also available for $107 at yoyo some months back and I think can be had at jet.com for sub $100 if you buy multiples. It was grossly overpriced to begin with, though around $100 is a good value for the set. I'm still waiting on 50% or better for the deli.

Yeah, got a couple of #60097 when it was $107. I'm not sure we will see the mini mod type Creator sets for 50% though.. maybe 40% around BF this year, if it will occur.. Or maybe if yoyo.com allows promo codes to stack again in err. The best I have seen so far for the Corner Deli is 26 and change via yoyo.com

I almost willing to bet money some of us will see the creator mini mod sets for 50% off or more. With the way LEGO has been pumping out sets and the way Wal-Mart has been putting stuff on clearance I'm just gonna bide my time. Heck, even Amazon is putting a ton of stuff on pretty steep discount lately. There is simply too much stuff to stock and expect it to sell at full price. LEGO fatigue may be setting in for many buyers. That said, you can also get 3 corner deli's for ~$25.15 each at jet.com if you are a new customer (or just create a new account). If you factor tax that you aren't having to pay, that is a 40% discount right there.

madforLEGO Not to derail the thread (which NEVER happens on Brickset), but as someone who bought a lot of City sets for my son, I could never justify the $190 price tag for City Square. It's a set that has a lot of cool elements, but...

    1. For my son, I could never justify it. He has tons of cars/trucks/stores from the rest of the city line.

    2. As a collector, it didn't offer any big display value.

Overall, I feel like this is the Assault on Hoth (#75098) of the City line.

Agreed. I would not buy it for 190 either. But unlike the Assault on the wallet Hoth this set can be put on sale. I think for its price now it is a good deal though (even at 122).

Not trying to sound snide here, but if you just want the two figs then why not save more than 50 and buy them off of bricklink?

I've been perusing jet.com lately in conjunction with amazon.com.  Typically jet.com has the same discounts amazon does; but they have an additional "discount" which you can select by waiving free returns - it typically saves another $1-$3 USD.
  • erequenaerequena Member Posts: 52
Also, Jet has 15% on a number of orders for first time consumers, if you have an AMEX card you may have a $10 cashback on $50 purchase and sometimes they mail a 15% off 3 orders for existing costumers, it's actually a good place for LEGO offers if you can mix some of those offers with a sale price (for example, I purchased the cargo train for about $95 after cashback)

If they are the same two figures I want, I could understand the desire for the set at $50 plus you get other figures and pieces. I've looked into it because I mainly want Daphne and Velma to complete the gang, but combined they would cost about $30, so you could save another $20 by buying them individually compared to the $50 idea, even though the cheapest I've seen is $63. So by the looks of that, I will definitely pick them up individually.

I get your point, and agree with the concept.  But, sometimes I want my stuff more quickly than the apparently standard 2+ weeks it takes a Bricklink seller to get things to my door.

yoyo.com (affiliated with Amazon) is having another buy 3+ LEGO sets and get 20% off promo. Select sets found on yoyo.com including Creator, City, Friends, Juniors, Technic and Duplo. Max Discount is 50 USD

Some sets on the promo are also on discount already so this promo stacks on that price.
