<Legolas> You have my bow! </Legolas>

Seriously, I spy a #6286 in one of those pictures...considering it will have shooting cannons and I recently held one in the Vault on the LIT, I would pitch in $1100 for the chance to take that as my share of the loot*. Too bad I can't make it in person, but I met a nice couple from Belgium named Fredrick and Elena, who I don't think are Brickset members, but I feel like they should know about this, too!

*And maybe a Multi-Core Magnetizer, Message Intercept Base, and classic roadplates, if he has them (he probably does).

Catch? Belgian police haven't gained a good reputation recently for catching obvious criminals.

...do you think the police would be suspicious on discovering a gang of 80 people travelling abroad with large amounts of cash and empty suitcases?
Just need to keep the cash amount under $10,000.00 per person.

@legomental Why did you let your wife bring her saucepan?!?
@bobabricks I like where this plan is going - I appear to be getting dibs on a #10221 also.
In other news, do you think the police would be suspicious on discovering a gang of 80 people travelling abroad with large amounts of cash and empty suitcases?

Seriously if you're getting a 10179 AND a 10221 what am I getting apart from clobbered with a saucepan? I'm demanding a new plan!

@legomental maybe Gary will be nice enough to bring you a couple HO cars to play with in the hospital. You may not be able to build a set after being clobbered...

    Let's try this...

Maybe we should be acting out our own Brickset version of the Italian Job in Lego UCS Minis. We'll call it the Belgian Job.

But are we going to have some snazzy small cars to do it with? :)

^Small snazzy cars won't be able to hold a lot of Lego!

Whatsmatt only wants 2 boxes (albeit expensive ones) and bandit778 only wants the box so no need

I've devised an updated plan. I'm bringing my 10 tonner, which although slow, will probably fit the rest of the collection

^Is that the bus that ends up over the cliff at the end? ;-)

I'd forgotten about that. Hopefully not with 77k of lego on board!

Now we are getting close to the cliffhanger (literally in this case), does that mean we all get to sing along to "we are the lego preservation society" while the credits roll?

Maybe if we started a Brickset pool with each of our life savings we could purchase it...
Can you imagine explaining that one to the other half? 'Honey I've just pooled our life savings with a bunch of AFOL'S I've never met to take a trip to Belgium for a week of packing and dividing up lego, you don't mind do you?'

I suspect a cast iron saucepan might connect with my head

I'm still game it's an amazing collection
I personally would have to explain to my mother what happened to the $1097  I made over the summer. I'd be like " hey mom I'm going to  Belgium with a bunch of AFOLs  that I don't know to buy a ton ad Lego."

Would be a very amusing getaway situation. Imagine dozens of police officers shaking all the delivery trucks in Belgium looking for the one that rattled from thousands of pounds of Lego pieces.

If there is a movie there must be Lego sets to go with it all as well!  Can't wait!  Can't wait Brickset member minifigs!

I'm in luck if they do, with the release of Sloth from The Goonies they won't have to make a new part for my head. :P

Vaguely on topic - the announcement has ended, do we know what the result was, has it sold?
  • legoprodslegoprods SpainMember Posts: 445
Deos anyone know how you can contact the seller?
  • bobabricksbobabricks Vancouver, BC, CanadaMember Posts: 1,842
@legoprods that wasn't part of the plan. :/ I think we were just gonna show up.

Im sure that if one was to win the auction, contact info would be given.

I'm guessing there is now an auction for some premium Ikea shelving units.  €80,000   pickup only.

Yeah it might be sold, but who bought it....that's our next plan, so if bobabricks comes up with a new map, it's still on.

Most of Luxembourg is in that perimeter.  I already feel lost.

What about Liechtenstein?!?!  I've got the death sentence on 11 municipalities of Liechtenstein.  I'll be careful...
