#79110 Silver Mine Shootout arrived from eBay today. Not sure why but I really like the Lone Ranger sets and have all but one now. I've not even seen the film (which is probably a good thing given how bad it's supposed to be!)

Its not that bad.  Great train scenes in it.

Thought I make use of the 'May The Fourth Be With You' SW offers.

It has been a while since I last bought a Lego set, so I cashed in my €20 worth of VIP points and bought #75096 The Sith Infiltrator, which currently is on sale at Lego [email protected] (10% discount for €98,99 instead of €109,99). I still think it is too bloody expensive, but with the extra VIP points I had gathered, I was finally willing to pull the trigger on this thing.

This will be my first Sith Infiltrator, I really liked the last one, but back in 2011 I was not collecting any SW Lego yet. At the time I was still on the fence of getting back into buying SW stuff, fearing there would be no end to it. Since I am no longer the Lego completist theme collector I was for a while, I bought my first SW Lego set in 2012, and ever since have gradually bought some more SW sets, in favour of other sets from other themes which I as a consequence had to turn down. SW has now pretty much become the primary focus of my Lego collecting habits.

The Minifigure line up of the 2011 version of the Sith Infiltrator seems slightly better to me with the inclusion of Padmé Amidala, and Captain Panaka, versus Anakin and R2-D2 in this one, which are both also included in #75092 Naboo Starfighter. But now I will finally have a Darth Maul minifig, as well as a Watto minifigure, and last but definitely not least, I think the best Sith Infiltrator Lego model TLG has designed so far. Though since the set is normally so ridiculously expensive it would have been nice if they had included those two minifigs (Padmé & Panaka) as well.

Anyway I am glad I finally ordered it, I also ordered #75141 at 10% discount. Really love the SW Rebels animated series, and Kanan's Swoop bike escape looks like a fun little set. Of course I will also receive the promo minifig and a SW ep.VII Poster with this order.

Thirteen Simpsons CMFs from series 2! They unexpectedly turned up in my local Tesco, which hasn't had CMFs for years that I can recall. Apparently they really want rid of them; they were on clearance for 60p, so I bought a couple out of curiosity and ended up so enamoured of Patty and Maggie that I went back and cleaned them out...

Not bad! 60p what is that at the moment!?! about 80cents I guess. Even if you are not into The simpsons, the torso's, legs and all other minifig props will find their use elsewhere. I suppose even the specially moulded Simpson heads can be used as props or in other ways in MOCs.

couldn't pull the trigger for 90€. was tempted but that still felt a bit overpriced even with the free may the 4th minifig. also I already own darth maul. the original one, but it doesn't look drastically different from the new one.

her child, yes. sadly. i am, no mater what others may say, no longer a child.
act like one from time to time? shore.
pass as a child. nope. and this is ware my problem is. i am running out of the get out of trouble free cards you start life with to use on my mother.

I knew that my "get out of jail free" cards were used up when my bags were packed before I could even take off my cap and gown ;) I have been slipping down the ranks of the family unit ever since. My father said to me after my first child was born: "I love ya kid, but you are no longer #1; that child in there is. Your time is over."

I went up on the totem pole when I had children - before that my brother the "perfect first born" (not my parents words, but they acted like it was) had all the glory. But I gave them grandchildren!

But after child number four, I think I'm off it now..!

I brought lots of parts from Bricklink. Metroliner fig parts, grey 1 x 1 round bricks (to replace the missing load from my #4512 set hopper); more parts to build a duplicate hopper from #4512, parts for another palm tree, a base plate, and some Monorail pieces.

Lol when I complained to my mother that she'd lied about children she said 'well you wouldn't have had any if I'd told the truth'. In other words I was conned into producing grandchildren for her. I don't think we ever had a totem pole. If we did I was used as it's foundation

Just ordered Technic #42043 Arocs from Amazon for £119.97, a 29% discount. Probably not going to see a better discount in the UK on this set. Just hope Amazon manages to deliver it undamaged!

There's a #10212 for sale on here. I'm on mobile so can't grab the link. He wants £400 for it...

Edit: Managed to grab the link:

However, I'm happy with The Tyridium...

I do have both UCS X-wings though :-)

As for recent purchases, there have been two birthdays this week (not mine). There's a ton of Elves and Nexo Knights need building this weekend!

Thanks @MaffyD. I would have jumped at the chance to buy that new at RRP, but can't justify paying aftermarket prices. Apart for the odd exclusive polybag, I'm limiting myself to current OT sets. And like you say, Tydirium is a great set and can hold its own on display with UCS sets.

After reading this thread it seems like The Lego Group has actually outsmarted the consumer here.  They didn't design and release Insult on Hoth to sell that set, they did it to sell a massive quantity of Ewok Villages.
  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,679
so that means that the death star should be totally dreadful in order to sell assault on hoth?

I actually really like Ewok village. Am I the only one who does?  it's the only star wars set we have and both of us love it. Granted it frequently has batman, scooby doo and dinosaurs invading but I think it's a really fun set. If it ever goes on offer at a decent price I will buy a second and make a much larger Ewok village

^Actually I bought it on May the 4th.  I have had my eye on it because I really like the trees and I have #8038 with two bunkers and Shuttle Tyderium which all can go together nicely but never really had anything push me to buy it (it is pretty expensive).  Like many others here I was hoping to like Hoth because I also have a lot of the older Hoth sets, but alas it wasn't to be.  With all the talk here about interest in Ewok Village and the length of time it has been out, it prompted me to get off the fence.

So my awesome wife found a GE #10211 on the local craigslist and was able to talk the guy down to $220 (from $250). She was going to surprise me on Father's Day but she forgot it was in the back of the car when we were loading groceries. I agreed to wait til Father's Day anyway since she is so awesome. Did I mention she's awesome?

I went to TRU looking for Disney minifigures but they had none. I almost bought the service station (60132) but I skipped since it price scanned for $109. While there I bought these though. Duplos for my youngest and the people pack for population density purposes.

Could you possibly tell me the measurements for the box? I'm trying to convince a friend to bring it back for me when he goes to the States.
  • DNADNA Member Posts: 89
Sure, it's not a big box. It measures 26 cm (10 and 1/4 inches) by 19 cm (7.5 inches) by 4.5 cm (slightly over 1 and 3/4 inches). I hope your friend can bring one back for you. It's a nice set. I like the dual printed faces on some of them.

Plus it's nice to have a baby in the mix

I hadn't realised that the baby's head was half-sized - that's adorable! :D No sign of it on the UK [email protected] or TRU yet.

EDIT: Oh, and I've just invested my Clubcard Boost vouchers in Jestro's Evil Mobile from Tesco Direct. I should be able to pick it up on Wednesday. Hey, maybe it'll even be in tomorrow; that happened last time I bought Lego from Tesco Direct...
