@DarthMorl looks brilliant, I picked it up on the weekend and can't wait to find the time to put it together.

It's a great build, really like all the little details and some of the hidden touches

Had to take mine down at the weekend to make room for the Sandcrawler, which we are building right now. It's a brilliant set.

Just about done Bricklinking Green Grocer in lime...however, I am having a hard time tracking down 1x8 in lime. I am hoping the "Volcano Explorer" sets have some 1x8s...fingers crossed.

I would love to see pics of that. It sounds like a fun color.
loved the sand green original color, but was not going to pay the "price". might change the awning accent to red...don't know yet.

yeah, the ewok village is one of my favorite sets, but trying to do a town theme layout, so star wars doesn't necessarily fit in.

Would you be opposed to just using a mixture of 1x6s, 1x4s and 1x2s? Many people do that not only because they're easier to find but also to keep costs down.
will probably do that as a last resort. as a previous poster reported, might have a lead on some 1x8s.

Nice lime green colour scheme, this immediately popped into my head when I saw it, ha ha.

I attempted to replicate MisaQa's Peacock MOC for my wife for mother's day. I couldn't figure out how she did the tail because the instructions wouldn't load. My wife actually had a hand in the design  by suggesting the hinge piece to get the tail to look right. That makes it even cooler in my book because we worked to together to finish this project. Here's a comparison between MisaQa's and mine. I alternated some gold parts into the design to illustrate the Peacock's association with Hera, QUEEN of the Gods. Happy Mother's Day!!!!

Just finished building a London themed Maze in LDD. Have ordered the parts now so will have to wait before I can physically build it. Though people might like to see the LDD design so here are a few screen grabs. The blue part represents the River Thames, the curved section through the trees is St. James' Park (at least it was in my mind when I designed it), the grey thing sitting on the 'water' is supposed to be HMS Belfast, the tall grey building in the corner represents Canary Wharf and the building in the middle is obviously Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

There is also an Earth Blue 1x1 Brick with a Transparent 1x1 Round Plate on top. You can probably guess what that is.

    What do you people think?

Looks cool. Like the Big Ben + Parliament building in microscale.

Me thinks it's time to get back into computers and have a look at the LDD program. Between Google and Blocks, I'm starting to favor Mocs over sets(except CREATOR, my favorite!). It's really stressful to make things the old fashion way. That LDD makes life easier I take it...

@mcleod4568 You should do a nasty Lambeth Bridge roundabout with traps to replicate the scene in national lampoon's European vacation =)

Err, I must be very slow, but what does the EB 1x1 with Trans 1x1 round plate represent?

I changed the awning on mine to dark red anyway - looks much better.  My mother always used to say 'blue and green should never be seen' and I thought they clashed on green grocer.

I am trying to build a few sets before putting them up for sale. In the process I really did fall in love with them, so now the idea of parting with them is a bit harder. But given that I have "doubles" should make it easier to process.

building the mistery mansion. nice level of details. the purple fits surprisingly well, especially adjacent to the reddish brown, though I think more dark bley should have been used instead of light bley.

As @Fauch said, it is the stand and internal frame work for my bricklinked DS2. Have been meaning to make a start on it since I took the SSD apart last year (needed some of the parts), but having enough spare time to sort and build always seemed to elude me somehow.
    @Legoboy
A UCS Naboo starfighter that big would be a set worth having, especially if it came with all those lovely chrome pieces.

In a dilemma as to what way to do the brickwork of Wayne Manor for my UCS Batcave expansion...I'm committed to having 2 floors worth of Wayne Manor with a brick build (rather than struts/columns and tiled plates), but do I go to town on masonry bricks for almost all blockwork or use mainly flat faced standard bricks with a mix of masonry brick patches here and there like the Ghostbuster Firehouse has on its bottom layers? Opinions please before I place a big bricklink order (there's not a huge amount in it on cost as the masonry bricks are plentiful and 9p each in medium dark flesh/nougat with a few dark red thown in to patch it up a bit).

I think most Lego builders have gone through an instruction manual at some point and seen x2 and perhaps groaned  a little bit. I know I have.
Then I saw the x2 after this.

So built one before I carry on with the outer shell so I don't have to do one after the other.

^ And we have a winner. Blimey, that was quick! Thought the purple and green would send people in another direction!

Fab plane by the way - liked the way they got the angles on the wings. Still not sure about Black Panther's head piece. My son loves it though!

Had a little help really, just got back from shopping and had picked this set up as I liked the look of the plane and the purple stripes on the wings, believe it or not there are not many sets with the 1x6 purple tile in them.

^ Well, if you own the set that's not fair! :-)

I have no idea how rare any particular piece/colour combo is - I just don't have the time to look! Joker sets must have some of them...

    Imperial Hotel.

Learning that for the large sets where the parts are not in numbered bags, it really really makes sense to spend some time up front sorting!  :-)

^ @Don - enjoy the build!  I found this to be the 2nd best of the Architecture builds.

(FallingWater will always be my favorite, as it brought me out of my building 'Dark Age'.  And I built 6 or 7 of them over the years for various people.)

  • JudgeChuckJudgeChuck UKMember Posts: 1,093
I have just finished #42039 24 Hours Race Car with #8293 Motor Set, which has been my very first Technic build.
I have to say that I am very impressed. The model itself looks amazing and is surprisingly big. The amount of detail in the mechanicals is superb.
I think this will have to stay on display for some while, as I'm not looking forward to taking it apart!
Dismantling large LEGO System sets is bad enough, but all those Technic pins will drive me round the twist! ;-)
  • bandit778bandit778 Docking Bay 94. Member Posts: 1,934
    @JudgeChuck
Although not quite as nice as the main build, the 'B' model for this is quite a nice build for this set as well.
