I remember when all you had to choose from was Rock, Pop, Classical & Country.
"What kind of music do you usually have here?"
"Oh, we got both kinds. We got country *and* western."
Yes! I immediately thought Blues Brothers when I read the original post. Glad I wasn't the only one.

In the coming weeks I'm planning to buy 4 of the smaller baseplates, as those are still missing from my upcoming lego christmas village moc. It's gonna be roughly the same size as the very old table in my room where I'm building it on. I should also buy some of the classic lego pine trees from bricklink sometime soon, and a lot of 2x4 white plates [SNOW :)]
so long story short, not buying anything right now, but planning to buy a lot of things later on :P

I've finally caved in (no, @MattsWhat not a #10237 Tower of Orthanc... Yet...) and dipped my toes into the Technic theme for the first time, given that Amazon currently have some great deals.
I've ordered both #42039 24 Hours Race Car (£73.99) and #8293 Motor Set (£21.99), as I'm a huge Le Mans / Prototype / GT racing fan and I've been hankering for this set for a long time.
Of course, even us LEGO System builders are used to Technic parts in nearly all sets nowadays, but I'm really looking forward to a full Technic build, which I expect will be a lot more "fiddly" than I am used to!

Chris, there are some available on BL from European sellers for good prices, in fact, very good prices... You'll pay a bit for postage, but you might get one for close to RRP. Have a look here:

John Lewis in store might be worth a look, I know Brent Cross had nearly the entire Movie line a couple of weeks back and Welwyn have loads aswell. Liverpool One JL definitely had 70802 3-4 weeks back as well.

well after asking, (read as begging.) my mother who i food shop with.
she let me borrow the money to get #60119 from sainsburys today for £16.66.
i only think i got away with this as it was in the shop right there and then, i may have also use "puppy eyes no jutsu".
Note, as this is borrowed money and not from my lego fund. this dose not count as me buying more when i dont have the money. i still tapped out and i think my luck on borrowing from the bank of mum and dad, may also be tapped out.

so no @All_That_Rocks this don't count.
side note picked up (as planned.) the last 2 CMF from S15 that i needed. at £1 each, that i had set aside £3 to buy last week. and 1 superhero Bart for £1. with the £1 i had save with the price drop. (edit, wish i had superhero millhouse to go with him, but can not win them all. but will keep an eye open for him.)

I was late to the party with Chima, and have been trying to catch up with the sets that most caught my eye. Luckily, most of the sets can be found for less than retail still, but I did end up picking up the Lion Chi Temple which was the only one I couldn't find cheap. I also picked up a couple of the Ninjago vehicles that are currently on sale at [email protected]
  • datsunrobbiedatsunrobbie Member Posts: 1,819
^YMMV, but Barnes and Noble has been running a lot of Chima sets at 50% here in CT
  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,679
couldn't find lion chi temple cheap either. got one for about 10% more than rrp.

Just bought Ketar: Creature of Stone and Pohatu: Uniter of Stone from this year's Bionicle range. I had been holding off on buying the last three Toa and Creatures... but rumors about poor sales for Bionicle spooked me, and I felt like building something new anyway. Now this year's Tahu, Onua, and their respective Creatures are the only Bionicle sets I have yet to get.

    Slave I - £152.99
    2 Disney CMFs - £4.98
Resistance X-Wing Microfighter - FREE (with O2 Priority)
First Order Stormtrooper and poster - FREE

Also used £30 of VIP points so I brought the price down to just under £130. Very happy!

  • mr.pigglesmr.piggles Member Posts: 325
Battle on Takodana as a present, and a couple Disney CMF because I have no reasoned that I'd like to find Donald and Daisy. Next time I need to just preorder the whole series instead of chicken picking a couple and then eventually getting the rest anyway.

Another Bricklink order, for some tools, parts for my TTX version of a #10219 Maersk container well car, a green baseplate, some Metroliner minifig parts and some bits to expand my monorail!

I'm contemplating putting an order in for the Ewok Village too, I can't see it lasting too much longer at retail.  The May 4th deal is hardly groundbreaking though, 10% and a poor TFA figure.  Guess I've got a few days to make a decision.

Neither my local Lego store or the one up the road at Disneyland has had the Sandcrawler in a while. Which I guess is good because it helped me wait for the May 4th double points!

Just placed my order, they say 30 days. So 30 days to have buyer's remorse I guess. :-)

Caved and went for the Ewok Village when I was in Liverpool earlier. Not the most exciting set but if and when it retires I'd be gutted if I didn't grab it when I could.
  • YodaliciousYodalicious Member Posts: 1,366
The Ewok Village is quite the fun play set. My son switches between it truly being an Ewok Village and it being a hideout for the bad guys when he's playing with his Swamp Police sets. Overall, a set I'm very happy we added to our collection.
