Im not a fan of it, but I would be kind of surprised that it would not be doing well.. Then again there is Chima...
I actually haven't heard a lot of news about how LEGO Nexo Knights is doing in the shops, but then, I can't remember if we'd heard a lot of news of that sort about Ninjago by this time in 2011 either (the first real press release I remember that suggested Ninjago had hit it big was this one). There was a LOT of traffic for the LEGO Nexo Knights building event at my local TRU in February, but of course that's purely anecdotal. I am anxious to hear more about whether this theme's performance on TV and in the shops has been more like Ninjago or more like Chima.
My Nexo feeling was definitely negative - more or less thinking - I've read A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (9th grade I believe), and this is not what I imagined.
I think kids and adults alike would have much preferred a new take on the classic Medieval theme. It's very telling how much more my son prefers the CMF knight to the few Nexo Knight freebies we have acquired.
So far, only bought one: #70327. (A giant knight mech? Yes, may I have another?)
But I haven't been tempted to buy any of the sets for the shields because this website has them all: http://www.spyrius.org/nexo/?nexo=00010101101010110010101101010110b413
I was totally confused!
(Apparently TRU is so lazy they no longer put the set names in the flyer, just list as 'assorted LEGO sets'with just their TRU item numbers now.)
LEGO Elves Aira's Pegasus Sleigh #41077 26.39
LEGO Friends Heartlake Hot Airball #41097 15.99
LEGO Ultra Agents Hurricane Heist #70164 55.99
LEGO Ninjago Dojo Showdown #70756 21.59
LEGO Super Heroes The Hydra Fortress Smash #76041 34.38
More common are the super-reduced $0.03 markdowns at TRU. (Although, I have only ever got one of those.)
I'm surprised so many people still shop there. I guess if you can get the right discount at the right time, it might be worth it, but my local TRU doesn't have any better stock than any other store that is nearby (and like I said, it is out of the way for me), so it is too much effort to look for some of these deals. I'd rather have cash than a TRU giftcard at 20% off just because I don't get to a TRU very often.
TRU running a promotion right now:
"save $5 on your LEGO construction purchase of $30 or more use promo code #979378 at checkout (excludes LEGO Dimensions and Hard to Find)"
Got the Transporter for $50.99 after the $5 and then dropped it to $40.99 after redeeming a reward.
