I want very much to win this one!
I don't even want to know how many hours I spent playing that game. Runners up include Super Mario 3, the original Super Mario Kart on SNES, Galaga and Lode Runner.
It was a few days after christmas, late at night, dark and raining outside, for some reason i was home alone, so I powered it up and put in on.
It was our first foray into the new generation of consoles (had owned spectrums, atari stfm, ps1, megadrives etc).
The opening sequence just blew me away. The slow motion flips, leaps, spins in the combats. The animation of water and banners in the breeze. The sounds. Standing on battlements and watching the siege occurring in the distance. Plus a cinematic wrap around story (far superior to the dross of the actual movie of the same name). I was just wowed.
After that, God of War. The same jaw dropping experience, particularly the huge scale of the panoramas such as when you first climb onto the titan to reach the city on its back. :oO
And of course, Muppet Racemania! LOVE that game. Wish they would update it.
(But i also have a soft spot for some of those very old platform games).
Anybody ever play Banjo Kazooie or Banjo Tooie? Those are runners up.
Anyone else here like RTSes?
Not a great gamer anymore but I used to love Myst and Black and White. You can tell I wasnt really into to much action in my games ;) although I was playing a lot of 'Crash bandicoot' as well...
@legomatt you convinced me, I'm going to see if I can find that prince of Persia game.
