Whilst out walking with the wife last night, we happened to pass a small independent cake/sandwich shop.
In the window they were advertising children's birthday cakes for sale with the help of some small Lego sets/minifigures and some My Little Ponies.
The next 20 minutes was spent trying to explain to the wife why I had inexplicably burst out laughing.
The cake must have smelled delicious!!!

    Today is my birthday ...

Belated congratulations! Mine was yesterday! Unfortunately I didn't get any lego from anyone but myself. To celebrate I bought myself a couple of Kingdoms Jousts #10223. So now I've spent April's budget before March is even over!

Giving the Brick Bank build a break while I strip everything of my little LEGO street. Rearranging the current modulars to make room for the new one.

The last pieces for the LEGO Rock Band bus came from a BrickLink seller in the Netherlands yesterday, so I built it, only to find that a couple pieces I got a long time ago were the wrong color, and I ordered the wrong wheel rims!

Having watched Dawn of Justice last night, im sold on all the new Lego sets that tie in with it. What I'm not sold on is this movie'z portrayal of Lex Luther. He's cold and cunning Lex not the f-cking Riddler!

welcome in the club of wrong-orderers. that sucks, usually you notice it just after the order went on the post-way or when you unpack it.

How many of the new sets are there? Only 3, or? #76044 - #76046? There isn't a tag on the site to group them to the movie.

    Oh, so there is: http://brickset.com/sets/tag-Batmanvsuperman

Agreed on Lex being how I imagined Zuckerberg from the social network to be. He didn't work for me as LL.

In fact, the whole movie didn't work for me. Probably Snyders worst movie to date - only Gal as Wonder Woman worked imo.

Sorry, I don't want to post spoilers nor do any railing :)

    feeling a lot better today,

and just got news that my winnings on Quidco "Run Rabbit Run" Easter Money give away game are tracking.
witch when i can spend it will be used to buy more Lego.
now if only the other one's Easter game would give me a win, and not yet more Prize draw entries, as i not interested in the prize draw, a Weekend Break, in London dose not sound like my cup of tea, after all if i just had to go to London it is not that far away. as i been before. going again on a brake dose not interest me.

with luck i can get back to building lego soon but still not quite up to it.
    being ill can suck.

Was going to start the pet shop this week.

But I was rear ended by a Mini Cooper yesterday and I am now suffering from minor woman's whip lash! (Alan partridge reference there)

I have decided tonight I would sit with a belly full of co-codomol and watch a new hope instead. My neck really hurts tho :(

Haha that actually made me chuckle. I suppose not hehe. It's the new mini so I could forgive the model of an old one.

I like the look of the two creator cars out at the mo but I feel I need to contain my collection or I would basically end up buying far too many themes. I'm concentrating on UCS and modulars with some ideas sets when I feel the urge.

i am trying to do the same.
Ninjago, Nexo Knights, little bit of "City", Star Wars, any "Space" theme, Creator, Modulars, Dimensions, ideas are the main themes i buy. with any set's that i think would be good for Parts for MOC-ing with at a good price on the side..
but if there is a good D2C like #71006 and #71016 then i buy that to.

i try not to buy UCS as i dont have the room to display them.
however saying that the new death start, may be on my list.
and the Ghostbusters theme the ECTO 1 and ECTO 2 as well as the GBHQ are buth on my list.

i dont think i am doing a good job at keeping to a limited number of themes.
having said all that Nexo Knights is the only theme i am trying to own 100% of. and i am at 80% of what you can buy at this time. well that is sold in the UK. if it not sold in the uk i will ignore it.
  • Werewolf_pooWerewolf_poo Member Posts: 71
You don't seem to be doing a good job of condensing your collection after reading that haha. You say you don't get UCS for space reasons but modulars and GBHQ are pretty big wouldn't you say?

i say I only collect these themes but I have a wall*e, ecto 1, 2 complete sets of Simpsons CMF and #71006.

im also thinking I need the GBHQ now and even though I ruled out the sandcrawler as a play set, after watching a new hope tonight I really think I need it now. Hoping it has a slight reduction on it when May the fourth event comes around.

ive even started dabbling in buying to resell for money for future Lego purchases. I have a spare ecto 1, a Big Bang theory and a doctor who set. Got the last 2 with really good discounts recently at Amazon.  All of which I hope retire sooner rather than later to fund this years UCS sets.

well most of the UCS set have a normal size set of the same thing. the UCS TIE, has the normal TIE that is out at this time. and the only set's i thinking about that are the UCS like is the death star and maybe if i find the money from buying other set below RRP the Sandcrawler. when i said i dont have room for UCS, that is to say i dont have room for both UCS and D2C sets.

and at some point i need to find the money to buy more display space.

at last, as long last, the main plan for my big Pet Shop MOC is down in LDD.
it's only been in the works for 3 months. still it's not been my only project. there was my palace cinema MOC, and my still in the pipeline Deli Corner MOC (that is waiting for a 3 for 2 offer and me to have the cash to buy it. dam you Tesco.)
now i have to sort over 3000 lego parts, in to the right tub, before i can start the build. OR i could pore 3000 lego parts in to one tub and look for 1 part in 3000.
    Unmmm, NO!
i think i will stick with the sort them in to a system that i will know ware to look for the right tub for the right part.

and i still have a backlog of lego set's to build.
oh and a room that needs a good tidy up.

Watching my Lego budget for the next while slide gracefully down the toilet, in the wake of our drains needing major work. Thank goodness I've still got the Palace Cinema waiting for me. Also, today my Skeleton Guy and Warrior Woman that I bought before this happened arrived in the post, which is consoling. :)

yes i will most likely do a video when it is all said and done.
the videos i do of my MOC's that i post here are unlisted. so the only way to find them is by this forum.

dont know how long i going to take to build it. the MOC with the palace cinema was done in 3 to 4 days, build time. but i did not procrastinate on that build. dont know if this will go faster or slower. and there are some parts that still need work. stuff that i feel more happy building in real bricks then on LDD.

i ordered from this guy in russia on bricklink!

its 4 weeks now! eagerly awaiting
    #7641 city center
    #2505 garmadon fortress
    4x baseplate 48x48

i just need the baseplates and i can start with my firetemple moc, i will just make the temple closed from all 4 sides on a ground floor/asian garden which will connect to other modulars, pavement, benches, trees, asian gates included. soo looking forward!
i already did the temple grounds in MLcad for fiddling with the pavement tile layout (love it, i can mess with tile allocation the whole day, and its not getting boring)

    also
    did nab #8115 for 4€
I CAN MAKE THE COMBINED MODEL FROM #8112 AND #8115 NOW!!!

^ I brick linked a couple of things from Russia recently. It did take 4-6 weeks, plus I had to pay extra tax on one parcel, which unfortunately made it more expensive than had I bought it from the cheapest seller in Germany.

I won't be doing that again anytime soon!
  • brumeybrumey Member Posts: 1,002
ye.  also keen on the extra taxes. its just 1 parcel! only time will tell!
it was really cheap. but paypal somehow has other conversion rates than bricklink...
i ended paying more than i first (on bricklink) thought. if there is also this tax, also wont be doing that again! i ll see ...

    It's Friday!

After sorting out this messy corner last weekend, trying to make space for the brick bank by moving the Palace Cinema, I'll finally have the time to continue changing the layout and maybe even build the bank over the weekend.

    Previous mess:

    New [cleaned-up] mess:

Space for the brick bank next to the TH - currently some sort of lava flow:

Organized the layout on the flag mosaic on my floor. Put out all my road plates instead of just the ones that already had stuff built on them. Will include #41135, which I'm in the middle of building.

Since minidolls can't sit down, LEGO includes furniture with tiles, but the minis don't stay put on that either. So I'm going to Bricklink the furniture parts. One of my few gripes with sets I usually like.
