Managed to retrieve my Brick Bank from the Yodel depot, despite having no delivery card. It was due for delivery today, but going to my office instead of home (I thought I'd ordered it in plenty of time, but alas not) Yodels tracker showed it in the depot so with nothing more than my LEGO order confirmation printed out we went down and blagged it. Its sat in the LEGO room now awaiting space on the kitchen table to begin

Today is my birthday and for the first time ever I received LEGO from my wife. A book and a coffee mug, which is a start. I may never win the war, but I was victorious in today's battle.
    happy birthday.
hope you have/had a good day

I just realised how for gone down the Star Wars hole i have gone when the first thing that came into my head was the voice of Admiral Ackbar. I definitely need to broaden my horizons somewhat.

    @yodalicious
Happy Birthday and congratulations on getting you wife to buy you something Lego related.
Mine still refuses after restarting my fascination with a lego set for Christmas 2 years ago.

Edit: that doesn't mean that I don't buy sets with any money she gives me for birthdays though. :)

I love getting surprise Lego in the post! Today @Shib's prize from last month's building competition arrived - 30264, Frax's Phoenix Flyer! Have now hit the necessary tipping point to begin collecting Chima. :D

I'll check the Target toy section, why not? #41135 Livi's Pop Star House for $39.99! One of the sets I wanted on sale, got right on that. Pop Star collection completed.

Mom is preparing for an Easter egg hunt. Me: "Snapping plastic things together? Ick!" ;)

i have box stacking almost down to an art form.

i decided to build the mini, and just got done with stage 1 (bags 1).
now it time to take a time out.

re the classic box's there part of my spare parts stock for mocking with.
5 of them have been opened and the purple bag's removed. as i needed parts from that bag for my last MOC. they still have the other bag's still in there. unopened as it just more easy to stock them like that. i have 8 in all and only 1 is 100% un opened with 5 part opened and 2 100% unpacked so if i need more of X part i just go to the unopened bags.  but i placed them there as they do have unopened lego bags.

i should think about getting some sleep.

I opened and sorted 4 #10692, some for BrickLink inventory (stored in the boxes along with BL stock from other sets) and some for myself (put elsewhere with the rest of my collection).
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,354
Looks cool, which is good since Brick Bank is on my wantlist.
I'm also playing with LEGO while waiting on Easter dinner. Finishing some MOCs and organizing BL inventory first so I can have those out of the way before I open more boxes.

Turkey, chicken, duck, goose and guinea fowl in ours. All wrapped in bacon. Mmmm. Sadly no more progress on the Brick Bank though

Just opened my first Friends set, the 30205 polybag. Rather charmed by the minidoll, and now thinking about venturing into Elves... there's no end to it, is there?

Ah, so how does it relatively compare to your expectations of TFA?

(In that, not a comparison between TFA and BvS, but weighing your expectations vs. what was on screen.)

For TFA I left the theater excited and happy, then slowly was let down when mulling over the story and inevitably feel cheated. I feel it was poor concept but great execution, the opposite of BvS.

While I was disappointed with BvS half way through the movie and the last 1/3 sealed it. They just had to cram in the big bad and convolute it all. Snyder screwed up bad just like JJ, but in a different way. The movie needed better writing and direction. Though I did like Wonder Woman and Affleck as Bruce Wayne. But Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor was annoying beyond heck.

Feeling happy about buidling the Dr Who ideas set. Thankfully there were no stickers.

Woah hold up.  You didn't like TFA?  Why?  I mean TFA did everything I was hoping for as a star wars fan.  In fact I wish JJ would dierect the rest of the star wars movies to come out.

^You mean aside from being a carbon copy of A New Hope complete with Deathstar and trench run? Other than the renamed Tatooine and Hoth settings? JJ is the rehash master of our generation, he did it to Trek and now he did the same to SW.

Agreed. Betcha the next movie has a large-scale land battle in it...

We should probably redirect the TFA discussion to the TFA thread.

    http://bricksetforum.com/discussion/22161/star-wars-episode-vii-the-force-awakens-spoiler-alert#latest

I don't think they'll probably be enough interest to start a separate BvS thread.  Frankly, the Turducken discussion is much more interesting.

Nah I mean the two movies were similar but they were different in other ways.  They were similar just because they were both FRICKIN star wars movies.  sorry if that came out rude, it's hard to tell on these threads.

Just picked up the 75095 TIE Fighter at Walmart that I had ordered on sale a few days back. Was a little nervous as some folks indicated Walmart just sticks labels on the box itself and ships it that way. Fortunately the clerk brought out a HUGE shipping box that was 2/3 filled with air bags. The Lego box itself is in perfect condition :) Perhaps getting it shipped to the store for pickup has a different packing process than having it shipped to your home?

^Received my UCS TIE in a perfectly sized shipping box for a ship to home order. There was no room for padding, air bags or even bubble wrap. It was completely tight on all edges and I had to flip the box upside down just to slide the set box out. Box was darned near immaculate.

^ No Yularen minifig faceprints on the box?  Disappointing.

Tonight I've been sat watching my 14 year old step daughter build some sets from her birthday. Getting so excited at the cool bits in the set then moaning about all the stickers, bringing them to me to do.

I've just read through 58 new comments...

Shout out to the "my cousin vinny" reference. What a great movie.

TFA was proper fan service, it was close in many ways to a new hope but it has laid the groundwork for some decent sequels.

i love bb8 for example......I even got him (dunno why I think he is male) tattooed on my arm on Saturday morning.

Mr. eanair found the double VIP points delivery I had 'hidden' - because I'm crap at hiding anything.
So because I'm crap at lying he found out that the Toy & Grocery Shop that I had told him was all I got during 2xVIP points was actually a lie.
And because karmas a bitch I've gotten tonsilitis for the 2nd time in a month - and I feel way too crappy to make any of the sets I bought.
I really should treat myself to even a small set to make myself feel better. Yes I should.

Was sick and tired yesterday, but still got some LEGO activity in. A small MOC, organized BL inventory and processed a couple sales, first 2 bags of #41106. Finishing the 2nd was a stretch, would've done more if I was feeling better.

    PS
I feel so childish for buying LEGO sets instead of alcoholic beverages.

I put in a parts order to Lego for a few things that my kids have either broken or have lost and subsequently vanished into the ether. I seem to do this about 2-3 times a year. Used a combination of Bricklink and Bricks and Pieces trying to find the best price.

I used to love Kragling everything. God bless the Kragle. I did however promise my 8 year-old I would stop.
