If it was for my 'private' collection I wouldn't have bought it... I would have only asked for pictures.

^ Ah.  That is a salient point.  I suppose that means if I ask for pictures, it could be for your 'private' collection.

Two separate trips to walmart this week netted me a #70728 for $59 and a #75100 for $19.   Not too bad!

Wife needed to stop into the local Walmart tonight to pick up a birthday card.  I almost didn't go in as this Walmart doesn't even have a decent selection of regularly priced Lego, let alone any decent clearance items.  I figured I would stop in to see if they had any of the new Star Wars sets in stock.  Not surprisingly, no dice there, but they had an all new clearance aisle set up and tucked away on the bottom shelf was the elusive 109.99 Millenium Falcon.  Box was in rough shape, but they gave me an extra 10% off.  104 with tax.

Add to that a Toys 'R Us packaging error in my favor today.  I ordered 60066 from the Creator sale last week which was just a little $6 Swamp police starter set.  I got 60067 instead (Helicopter Pursuit).  A good Lego day!

Picked this up a few months ago and haven't really had a chance to go through it all but so far I've identified the following:

    158 Level Crossing
182 Train set with Motor (motor not working)
    335 Transport Truck
    497 Galaxy Explorer (90% complete)
    580 Brickyard
    6801 Rocket Sled
    6821 Geological Inspection (80%)
    6833 Shuttle Craft
    6880 Surface Explorer (70%)

Still got a lot more to sort through but having difficulties identifying Technic sets!

    Pretty good haul for Free!!!

Just started collecting again about a month ago so I've been buying random lots on ebay and restoring them. I found a lot that the bounty hunter ship in and a few other small sets and bunch of mini figures mixed with all the parts for $40. From the pics you really couldn't tell how many there were or what was in there. I was able to make out mostly clone troopers, Ahsoka and two astromechs. I got the lot in the mail today and opened it up and the first mini figure to fall out was an aayla secura mini fig, all total I ended up with a bunch of clone troopers, a few jedi and some snow troopers, 52 minifigures in all, plus all the extra stuff all for $40, I was pretty stoked.

Picked up #76006 for $20 shipped in mint condition with all minifigs. War Machine alone costs $15 and Iron Man is usually another $6. So the figures alone made this a great buy

It certainly is, I was over the moon with the gift. I left the store some excellent online feedback and I'm always in so I'm sure my next visit will be to spend my VIP points. I was also pleasantly surprised to see the inclusion of multiple polybags, two of which I intended to get online (Poes X-Wing and Admiral Yularen).

Goes to show how different the availabilty can be in different retail channels.  Aside from one or two SH and Ninjago polys, the US Lego Store don't have any!

And how are there still Yularens hanging around?  They were gone from my local store on the same day!

So I found a slave 1 6079 or whatever the second version of bobs fetts with the boba fett minifigures for $5 auction or $35 buy it now with $13 shipping. Asked the seller if they could adjust the price so it was 45 total. They didnt respond until after I went to bed to notify me they marked shipping to $10. When I got up someone else had bid, removing the buy it now. When I apologized for not buying it before someone had bid the seller didnt understand the buy it now was gone, and when I sent them screenshots they were extremely apologetic (??) and told me to bid until I was the highest bidder and they would sell it to me for $20 free shipping. I became the highest bidder at 18.27 and they gave it to me for that price. So by asking to has a three dollar adjustment I saved myself $30. Yay?

I bought a whole box of old 80s and 90s service/supplemental bags for a very low price. It has over 60 bags with everything from replacement 9 volt boxes for the light&sound sets, to flags, to pneumatic cilinders, to turntables.

Don't kow yet what to do with it, but certainly a nice buy.

Bought a huge box of mixed Lego from a charity shop. Loads of figures and bits of of other stuff, star wars, HP, agents, alien cops stuff etc etc. Paid £45 for the lot, found some complete CMFs I didn't have, sleepy guy, butchers x2 and a crash test dummy from S1. Also spotted a half built #3222. Haven't sorted it all fully yet, I am happy already though.

Found a Juniors suitcase (the kind in what I think of as the Iron Man colourscheme) in a charity shop for £4.25 - I don't know what was originally in it, but I think I got about 125 parts including some nice ambulance pieces, an R2D2 minifigure, assorted green bricks (always happy to see more greens; one day I know I'm going to need it for foliage), and a few pieces I'd never seen before.

The Navy Exchange is running a BOGO 40% off toys (including Lego). My husband price matched #42008 with TRUs price and paired it with #42042 and ended up getting them both for around $140. Somehow the system took the 40% off 42042 (even though it was the more expensive of the 2) and so it was a few dollars cheaper than it should have been, but I'm not complaining! :)

I found a large vintage technic set in charity shop yesterday. Thought I'd get it as a project for hubby as it wasn't complete. It was #8880 Super Car which is supposed to be over 1000 pieces. It was boxed with instructions. Once I got home discovered after quick look that the wheels were wrong for car. Phoned charity shop and assistant said they had another set in bought by same guy, so I went back to see if the right wheels were in that box. They weren't but I bought the new set too. It was #8868 Air Tech Claw Rig. After spending the afternoon checking both sets we've decided that the set in the 8880 box is actually #8865 the Test Car, not the Super Car at all. Oh well, One box with instructions on sale soon. ( The other set is pretty complete).

Air Tech Claw rig is a cool set in its own right. Disappointed for you about the #8880. That set was a fun build.
  • AdelecAdelec Member Posts: 171
Yes, it was a bit disappointing, and somewhere there may be a Super car in a Test Car box! Still as you say the Air Claw rig looks interesting and so far most of the pieces are there.

Jealousy of others? Slippery slope... you should be happy for those who can afford Lego and enjoy it like it is.

Like I said, I post here too. I have had my fair share of bargains etc, my collection is based on bargains. I can't help but be a little envious of someone getting umpteen polybags for nothing though. I'm not here hating on people that's for sure.

My wife was in town and I needed some Stay-puft Dimension sets so I asked her to swing by Gamestop and see what they had. I also told her to ask if they had any of those Ironman promo thingy's left. They only had one Dimension set left, but gave her 3 Gun mounting systems on check-out! Eight dollar purchase, $100.00 worth of Free-bees. Ain't she great!

To get to the bottom you were what, swimming around in them? That's just depraved.

Found an empty #10531 tub at Goodwill yesterday. Searched around a bit and found the bricks had been dumped in a cardboard box full of large MegaBlocks, so I picked that up too. Happy to find #10531 is complete with all the Disney clubhouse character bricks.

Also found a couple dozen Quatro bricks and a brand new #8665, and #10667 with a bunch of extra parts, including a 4.5v train motor. Not too bad for $20 total.

Visited a toy fair locally in Norwich and came away with a hoard of Lego. Found the following sets, all complete - #661, Spirit of St Louis, #614 Digger, #8020 Technic Universal set, a complete set of the Weetabix promotional buildings (2 x houses & Windmill), a set of 1960's trees, set #226 building beams with names and the main piece a rather scruffy but complete #250 Esso Bedford Tanker. Also got a Pirates of the Caribbean polybag (30131).

Excited to have found Emma's House (#41095) at Amazon Warehouse for ~$39. Good condition upon arrival, just the inspection sticker slapped on the box, which doesn't phase me. At that price, good enough to finally justify purchase.
