Obi Wan vs Grievous is down to $17.98 at most stores if you can find it. Great price for that set. I hate the prequels but am looking forward to building grievous.

I went to my nearest target, but they had it at $48 (30% off). Not that enticing...

    Lucky!

I wonder if this is at ALL Targets tho...
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
It isn't.  Clearance, at least at WM and Target, is very different store to store.  Usually seems to be based on store size (if they have room to hang onto stuff longer) and the income level of the area the store is in.  At least that is what I've found.

Normally, the clearance stuff is either discretionary, or if it doesn't appear on the newest plan-o-gram for the Lego section.  Most toy section folks at Target and Wal-Mart are pretty aware to move the old product.

Although TRU has smartened-up and now has 'flex' sections on their 'hard' plan-o-gram to accommodate the zombie sets that TRU tends to have in stock well past their retirement.  (Agents, Hobbit)

I wish TRU had The Zombie sets but they were 'Target' Exclusives ;) (yes I know that is not what you meant)

IMO It really is a crapshoot a lot of time to find clearance LEGO. Usually by the time you hear about LEGO on clearance many sites are either sold out, or those sets do not have a clearance price (at least by me) and you cannot always trust sites like brickseek either because the stocks are usually off, OR someone beats you to the punch because they can run to the store earlier than you can. I would call first, but never sure how committed the CS, or dept, folks are to tell you the truth and not just say 'yeah we have them' or 'no we do not' to get you off the phone.

I wish I could find such sets but I gave up going out to constantly look for them at this point, it just wastes gas and puts more wear and tear on my vehicle for what is a slim chance in my area to find them unless I stumble on them during a regular shopping trip.

I am very excited. I shockingly managed to find a Friends mall for a bit over $60! I was quite happy, since I had been wanting one at clearance from Walmart, and never could locate one.

^^My local store actually had a bunch of the shelf this weekend. Musta found some stock in the back corner. Might be worth checking the DPCI...

Use the DPCI checker on brickfinder...when I checked for the Ninjago Legos most of the stores in my area had clearance prices...
  • Sethro3Sethro3 Member Posts: 1,015
YMMV, yet again. Checking my local targets for those sets online show full price or not available at all. It listed the clearance price next to it at some, but zero on hand. Which I've never seen them at that price any time I've been in there considering I go there multiple times per week and always check the LEGO aisle. So typically I don't much stock into clearance anymore around me. It never seems to actually be at that price when it is everywhere else.

Does anyone know Will target match TRU on CMFs 2 for $5?
  • SprinkleOtterSprinkleOtter Member Posts: 2,779
^ Probably not. It says "online only" on TRU's website.

YMMV. Last time I tried I was told they would match one pair. I've had a friend match an entire sealed case.

I have found the Tournament of Elements Ninjago sets to finally be on clearance, anywhere from 30-50% off.  Last week, there were reports that brickseek showed sets on clearance but the prices hadn't changed in the stores yet, but since this past Thursday/Friday, the sets are showing up on clearance, typically on the endcaps.

Today, I picked up 70746 Condrai Copter Attack for $14.98 and 70748 Titanium Dragon for $19.98, both at 50% off, although most Targets have it for 30% off ($20.48 and $27.98 respectively).

I found a 70749 Enter the Serpent for $29.98 a few weeks ago at a single Target, but in general, this is usually going for $41.98.

The 70747 Boulder Blaster is still only 30% off ($24.48)

I also found a bunch of 31042 Creator Super Soarer for only $4.99 (DCPI 204-00-1584).  It's a cool little 100pc set for only $4.99!

According to my experience, it seems that Target usually puts sets on clearance on Thursday mornings, so that is the time to check on brickseek for changes.

I too saw the Condrai for 50% off.

^That may be YMMV though Target is pretty good with exclusions. (Except for their summer 2015 clearance when Lego was stated to be excluded from the Cartwheel offer but the discount still applied!)

A CS rep (who's not attentive) may just give you a coupon'ed discount or gift card of equal value.
  • sonsofscevasonsofsceva Member Posts: 542
Target online has BOGO1/2 off on Dimensions, but still has four or five fun packs at the 7.50 price, so they are only about 5.70 each. Aquaman Oz Wonder Woman Cyberman Doc Brown and Sensei Wu

Lot of Friends sets on sale with a free gift, too on Target.com
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,353
Bought #41135 in store. Finally a set on sale is one I want so i got right on that.

I saw the free gift offer for City and Creator, hadn't known there was one for Friends. However, there was nothing I particularly wanted, I already have a lot of resale inventory and I barely had $40+ handy let alone $50+
  • DavidBrickleyDavidBrickley Member Posts: 375
It looks like the Ninjago Tournament of Elements sets are on their last breath. I found #70749 - Enter the Serpent for $17.98, #70746 - Condrai Copter Attack for $8.98, and #70748 - Titanium Drago for $11.98 (this one was hidden behind some of the new sets on the regular aisle, so sorry to whomever).

Also saw on some clearance sets with a different kind of clearance tags. The red tag said "AS IS" and had a bar code on the tag itself. A white sticker had been placed over the UPC on the box. These were all Friends and Princess sets and all 30% off: #41061; #41052; #41097; #41091; and #41026

Of these, I picked ups few #41097 - Hot Air Balloon as they were $11.19. Checking the sets against one of the inventory sites afterwards, all of the sets for that store showed zero on hand. Maybe these had already been written off and later found?
This was at a Central VA Target.

This usually means they were an online return.
  • solid_stridersolid_strider Member Posts: 209
I bought one of those #41097 sets yesterday as well.  I had only found one at first, so I thought it was online return as well, but it looks like had a case of them, all marked with the AS IS tag on a clearance endcap, and I figured they just weren't in the system anymore.

Glad to hear it works on all 6.

The Cartwheel offers specify the aforementioned two DPCIs only.

I'll be getting all of them now!
