^ my Target had two Wall-Es on the shelf not long ago. I assumed they were online returns but never cared to look into it.

Most likely.  Target and Amazon have most of the catalog available online.

I kind of feel like the picture on the front of the box hurts the perceived value honestly.

I think the alternate maze is substantial, and if that was pictured on the front of the box the value might be perceived higher. That being said, even if it was pictured I'd still feel like this should only be $60. Without it pictured, it looks like $50 to me. Of course the problem with pictures on a box is that it doesn't give you a true idea for the size of the set either.

I initially thought $200 was a little high for the UCS TIE Fighter until I saw it in person. Perhaps this set may have the same thing happen.

Another note is that I think if this sells well, it MIGHT encourage Lego to make some of the bigger and more expensive sets that show up on Ideas and make it to the review.

$200 is still too high for UCS Tie IMO.

The video makes me even more excited about it! I'm not honestly sure what I'd do with all those tiles, but the number of large tan 1x? bricks is very exciting, and the overall build just looks so enjoyable and customisable. Also, the cat watched the maze-tilting, ball-rolling bits avidly so, you know, we have to get it now...

This is really intresting.  I'm exited to get this when it comes out.  I've always loved ideas, they are kind of like the coolest theme lego has.

I'd hoped for lower but this is pretty much what I expected. So... do Ideas sets ever get discounted?

    ^ Maybe, eventually at TRU.

God that's a lot in the UK, what's the price again for US?

Now that most larger stores sell them, yes. Have a look at who sells WALL•E, and then think of the offers that store usually has at some stage in the year.

The BttF DeLorean was on sale at Target quite a few times, they were slow movers then. I'm sure there's many regrets on those:

"It looks horrible and will not appreciate because of it"
"It's available everywhere and not exclusive to Lego & TRU"
"It's been on sale all the time!"
"The Lego aftermarket is fully saturated and the profitable times are neigh!"

    15 months after EOL = 3 x RRP

And at its price point you're that much closer to a Mr. Freeze!

l just finished building mine... so it doesn't give you enough parts to build both mazes? What is the point of being swappable if there's not enough parts to swap? Now l just have a bunch of extra pieces l need to put back in the box. And if l buy another one l'll have even more extra pieces

I'm surprised no-one else has done this yet (or at least no-one has posted it) - I've worked out the extra pieces needed to build both mazes at the same time. They are all available from LEGO.com - some from Bricks & Pieces, most from Pick-a-Brick. Total cost is £15.98. Pieces are as follows:
    Bricks & Pieces:
    4x 6094066, black 8x16 plate @ £1.63 = £6.52
    1x 4166619, black 8x8 plate @ £0.72 = £0.72
    10x 6122047, tan 2x4 tile @ £0.22 = £2.20
    1x 4566179, green 2x4 tile @ £0.18 = £0.18

    Pick-a-Brick:
    4x 4211394, grey 1x4 brick @ £0.12 = £0.48
    9x 4211428, grey 1x3 brick @ £0.12 = £1.08
    10x 4211388, grey 1x2 brick @ £0.09 = £0.90
    10x 4211462, grey 2x10 plate @ £0.21 = £2.10
    4x 4211395, grey 2x4 plate @ £0.12 = £0.48
    1x 243128, green 1x4 tile @ £0.12 = £0.12
    6x 4185177, tan 2x2 tile @ £0.06 = £0.36
    13x 4114026, tan 1x2 tile @ £0.06 = £0.78
    1x 4125253, tan 1x1 tile @ £0.06 = £0.06

At least I can have a bit of (instruction-based) variety without having to rebuild!

Does anyone have any additional copies of the Maze poster and square card they handed out at the LEGO Brand Stores during April? I would be interested both as long as they are not damaged or used. If you do own both please send me a personal message.

Since coming out of my dark ages all my purchases have been for display, but this is tempting me more and more for the play value.
