For Wal-Mart, you have to change zip codes to get very far. Target tracker seems to cover a larger geographic area, probably because there are less target stores.

Looks like Walmart is getting into the TRU markup game:

That's ridiculous.  It's probably out of stock at Walmart, and this is from a third party seller(if you notice below, it's the same price from Toywiz), which are just rampant on Walmart.  I only purchase products that can ship site to store.

Toywiz has single handedly destroyed the ability to quickly search/purchase products on Walmart.com or their mobile app.  I wonder how much they pay WM to sell on their system...

If you scroll all the way down the page on the Walmart website for #75138 Hoth Attack there is a link to another vendor that is selling the same set for $28.99, plus a free gift.

I think that Walmart jumped the shark when they started allowing other sites to sell through their site. They are going for an Amazon online model while maintaining BAM stores. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, especially when you see prices like Hoth Attack online and assume those are their prices instore as well (that set is $24.99 in their BAM stores).

My post was from Walmart. Not toywiz. Which is why I was rather shocked.
  • goshe7goshe7 Member Posts: 515
^ I think there is something weird that happens when Wal*Mart has limited inventory and the item is also listed by Toy Wiz.  The same thing happened with Raptor Escape for several months (where it was available from walmart.com for something like $90).
  • ryjayryjay Member Posts: 1,009
Based on the screen shot from Rainstorm, that listing shows to be sold by Walmart, not Toywiz.

I found a Friends News Van 41056 ($25 retail) for $5 in the Walmart Clearance section. Big news in the SF Bay Area as you can rarely find anything decently marked down. I also left a Friends Heartlake Stable 3189 ($50 retail) for $17. So if someone's interested in it, get down to Walmart in Mountain View.

Friends Sunshine Ranch retail $70.....$17....the store had 9 of them

    Friends New Van retail $25.....$5

Friends Jungle Rescue Base  retail $60.....$15

Elves Azari and the Magical Bakery  retail $30....$7

Wal-mart can have a surprising amount of deals, if you are looking at the right time, and sometimes, just due to dumb luck.

I walked into a Wal-mart and found 70316 Jestro Evil Mobile in the clearance aisle.  I thought it was an error, but then it rang up for $25!  Presumably, it was an error, but I bought a couple of them up.  Brickseek showed that was the only Wal-mart at that price.

Another Wal-mart, I managed to find a Friends' Heartlake Shopping Mall, clearance price sticker shows $79, it rings up for $54!  Weird!

Unfortunately, while Brickseek is not totally accurate with inventories, it can be helpful and the prices are nearly always accurate.

There does appear to be a lot of variability between various Wal-marts in terms of when stuff goes on Clearance.  For example, in the Chicago area, the more rural Walmarts in smaller towns do not put stuff on clearance as quickly as those in the suburbs.  However, the suburban Wal-marts put a lot of Ninjago on clearance 30% off a day or two after Christmas, and then within a 2-3 weeks some of them went to 50% off.  I found a lot of the Ninjago Morro Lego sets for a great price.

Walmart also puts their more expensive sets on clearance fairly quickly (again, in my experience Ninjago Morro Sets like Morro Dragon and Titan Battle Mech).  Given their, ahem, clientele, I suspect those more expensive sets are more likely to languish on the shelves and take up space.

    Anyway, just my 2 cents...

Does anyone have the walmart number for spaceport? New to using brickseek and I am not seeing a correlation between any numbers on a sets listing on walmart.com and the numbers being listed here to find it. Pardon my ignorance : )

Never mind, just realized it is the number from the end of an item pages url. Learned something today. Sadly only full retail spaceports in my area...

Local Walmart supposedly has a handful of News Vans @ $2.50. Went, can't find a thing. The store's website itself is an inconvenient mess. Soooo... oh well.

I found out that walmart price matches other stores so if you go on the walmart app and pull up another stores clearance price they will price match it. I got Changing Seasons for $13!

^^^^^^ That is certainly YMMV. I can't get a  store to match their own app prices let alone another stores prices.

I usually get the classic Wal-Mart 'You must be a being from another dimension' glazed over look if I ask for anything wild like a price match.

  • beachbumbeachbum Member Posts: 33
isn't wm price match policy written somewhere we can use to show to the customer service when attempting to pm? if it's policy then they should honor it.
  • eggsheneggshen Member Posts: 602
^ Their policy only applies to competitors and does not include prices found on the mobile app. I'm sure their army of lawyers is working on an update. I don't think they consider other local stores as "competitors" in the sense that the price match policy would apply. Walmart.com is a separate entity from BAM stores, so that is why they are included.

The WM app is a hot mess.

Inventory, WM is historically known for their accuracy, is off when checking their app.

I don't even bother stopping by WM anymore.

Surprisingly, the app helped me Hit the Friends/Elves jackpot the other day.  Thanks to this thread- saw some of the posts about jungle base etc.   App had a bunch of friends/elves sets marked at ~75% off, and showing in stock.   The key was *finding* the sets.   After searching the toy area, found a pile of said sets on the top shelf unmarked.  Bingo!  Walked away with:

    #41206  $5
    #41034  $7
    #41038  $15
    #41056 $5
    #41076   $4

Needless to say, my daughter is set for the upcoming year...

I agree that the app could be a mess as most stores show in stock but I can't find them. also look around toys sections up and down the shelves its little luck. with that said, the apps is also helpful in finding which set is marked down and thanks to inventory checker website I was able to find a few great deal. I found the below star wars aand after calling the store they confirmed in stick, sales rep was super nice and locked it up for me. we were both shock it was $10!!

So I roll into WM today, and find #76035 for $65, yesterday it was $89.  What a deal!  Box has some wear, but the tape looks good.  On the way to the register, I start to have a sinking feeling the contents don't feel right.  So, I explain to the associate I'd like to open it there first to confirm what's in the box.  We open it up, dump it out - no minifigures in bag 1, it's taped closed.  Bags 5 & 7 (possibly 8) are missing entirely.  Someone bought the set, filched the contents, then sealed it back up nicely.  I was irritated, to say the least.  The associate did seem like he'd put it in "loss", but I bet I'll see it on the shelf in a few days taped shut.

Not the first time this has happened to me in my local area.  All superhero sets, missing bits and figures.  Always check at the store if you're suspicious!

Must be nice. I never see clearance lego..well rarely anyway. I checked Today considering all of these comments in here, not one clearance lego item. Nothingto be seen. Very odd.

I went to the Walmart near me yesterday. The only clearance they had was 21201: Life of George for $25. I keep reading about the deals people are finding but I've never seen them. It seems that I must have an addiction to below retail Lego. Whenever I go in there I can't help but to think of the words of Mr Pricklepants as that Walmart truly, "is a place of ruin of despair". But I still find myself there looking for my next fix.
  • beachbumbeachbum Member Posts: 33
@Tkatt lol, thanks to this thread I recently got into Legos and starting to form an addiction to hunting for these deals. it's alot if work and time consuming, but feels great when I find them hahahha. I am still hoping to find the friends shopping mall and ranch....I think my luck ran out with these two.

    Talk about vintage.

    3-4 years old and overpriced!

Humorously, my Walmart also had 2 copies of Life of George. Very beat up boxes and thrown into a pile of other cheap clearance items.

Picked up a copy of 41037 Stephanie's Beach House - $9.00 I might give it to grandkids, keep it just for the unique color pieces or sell it but it's definitely $9 worth of bricks.

does anyone know what the Walmart stores do with returned Legos, unopened and brand new still sealed? do they restock them back on the shelves?
  • DavidBrickleyDavidBrickley Member Posts: 376
I believe the they do with these the same things they do with returned opened sets...back to the sales floor they go.
  • malachirobertsonmalachirobertson Member Posts: 268
I returned a Lego set and changed my mind later.  It was a clearance Lego, so they didn't know where to put it.  Someone just stuck it in a random place on a shelf with the newer Lego.

You just never know.  I've seen just about it all...but you can never see it all from Walmart.  I found a Friends Shopping Mall recently for $79 on clearance...kept it for 24 days and then when Walmart lowered them to $54, I returned.   It's WM policy that it has to recirculate thru the system for 24hrs.  I was able to repurchase the set at the same WM for $54 the next day. But a few years ago I purchased some Dino T-Rex sets for $30 and the manager changing the prices said he wasn't lowered them anymore.  The next day they were $15.  I asked Customer Service and told them the story(I had receipt) and they just gave me the difference back in cash.   Just 2 weeks ago I was out of state and ran into a WM and found LEGO exclusive sets on clearance and at the same store found a cleverly sealed box that was built and returned (with all pieces and a few extras that didn't belong to the set).  I unfortunately didn't notice it..but it was a $89set for $15 so I didn't care.  I've also seen sets at WM that have Kmart store stickers on them.    I all depends upon the employee at the Customor Service desk...good modd, bad mood....the next WM might be totally different.

Same here. Have seen TRU, Target magnetic stickers and Barnes and Noble stickers affixed to Lego sets on the shelves at WM
