I think that Walmart jumped the shark when they started allowing other sites to sell through their site. They are going for an Amazon online model while maintaining BAM stores. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, especially when you see prices like Hoth Attack online and assume those are their prices instore as well (that set is $24.99 in their BAM stores).
Same as above...WM lowered some of the Friends/Elves themes today:
Friends Sunshine Ranch retail $70.....$17....the store had 9 of them
Friends New Van retail $25.....$5
Friends Jungle Rescue Base retail $60.....$15
Elves Azari and the Magical Bakery retail $30....$7
I walked into a Wal-mart and found 70316 Jestro Evil Mobile in the clearance aisle. I thought it was an error, but then it rang up for $25! Presumably, it was an error, but I bought a couple of them up. Brickseek showed that was the only Wal-mart at that price.
Another Wal-mart, I managed to find a Friends' Heartlake Shopping Mall, clearance price sticker shows $79, it rings up for $54! Weird!
Unfortunately, while Brickseek is not totally accurate with inventories, it can be helpful and the prices are nearly always accurate.
There does appear to be a lot of variability between various Wal-marts in terms of when stuff goes on Clearance. For example, in the Chicago area, the more rural Walmarts in smaller towns do not put stuff on clearance as quickly as those in the suburbs. However, the suburban Wal-marts put a lot of Ninjago on clearance 30% off a day or two after Christmas, and then within a 2-3 weeks some of them went to 50% off. I found a lot of the Ninjago Morro Lego sets for a great price.
Walmart also puts their more expensive sets on clearance fairly quickly (again, in my experience Ninjago Morro Sets like Morro Dragon and Titan Battle Mech). Given their, ahem, clientele, I suspect those more expensive sets are more likely to languish on the shelves and take up space.
Anyway, just my 2 cents...
WM numbers are:
Friends Shopping Mall 36607476 down to $54
Friends Sunshine Ranch 34193537 down to $17
Friends New Van 32703665 down to either $13 or $5
only deal I found along with the friends news van and elves bakery. spAce port $30
Never mind, just realized it is the number from the end of an item pages url. Learned something today. Sadly only full retail spaceports in my area...
worthless as it pops up Toywiz as the first seller when I scanned the upc
Inventory, WM is historically known for their accuracy, is off when checking their app.
I don't even bother stopping by WM anymore.
#41206 $5
#41034 $7
#41038 $15
#41056 $5
#41076 $4
Needless to say, my daughter is set for the upcoming year...
Not the first time this has happened to me in my local area. All superhero sets, missing bits and figures. Always check at the store if you're suspicious!
3-4 years old and overpriced!
You just never know. I've seen just about it all...but you can never see it all from Walmart. I found a Friends Shopping Mall recently for $79 on clearance...kept it for 24 days and then when Walmart lowered them to $54, I returned. It's WM policy that it has to recirculate thru the system for 24hrs. I was able to repurchase the set at the same WM for $54 the next day. But a few years ago I purchased some Dino T-Rex sets for $30 and the manager changing the prices said he wasn't lowered them anymore. The next day they were $15. I asked Customer Service and told them the story(I had receipt) and they just gave me the difference back in cash. Just 2 weeks ago I was out of state and ran into a WM and found LEGO exclusive sets on clearance and at the same store found a cleverly sealed box that was built and returned (with all pieces and a few extras that didn't belong to the set). I unfortunately didn't notice it..but it was a $89set for $15 so I didn't care. I've also seen sets at WM that have Kmart store stickers on them. I all depends upon the employee at the Customor Service desk...good modd, bad mood....the next WM might be totally different.
