Went rather well, I thought. Lowered him down a bit and used the black 1x2s to build up the 'torso' and suggest the front-heavy weapon housing, and added the cannon out of miscellaneous spares (the 1x2 1-stud plate is actually the 'hips' of Elphaba's flying monkey). I'm still in two minds about the printed head, technically it shouldn't have the 'ears' but I like the printing, it'd be a shame to get rid of it... May just put it on the shelf and see if I stop noticing it.
I get why @JudgeChuck doesn't want to start. I've spent hundreds of dollars after beginning with a few clearance sets. And I often hear sticking to particular themes as a way to control one's collection.
Also, the Sea Serpent's instructions are confusing to me - I have to keep going back to the previous number to make sure I've not missed anything.
Yesterday I was building elves sets with my nieces and my 3 year old. They decided the elves should throw an Easter party. They played with these sets for a couple of hours which was so great to see.
I would like to pick up more of these baby dragons since my nieces like them so much. They didn't have much of an interest in the bigger dragons but they loved these little ones.
I once got confused on pearl when bricklinking. And let's not forget bluish or plain gray.
Challenging (to me) setting 6 trains on a 10' x 6' area :(
It is nothing permanent. I use interlocking foam tiles as a mat over the carpet. No city/buildings, just the train sets and a two stations. The rest of my collection is mostly Star Wars and the LEGO Movie... I guess I can have a landspeeder parked outside one of the stations and Emmet working one of the cranes for the cargo trains :)
As has been pointed out in reviews, the net feature is a bit of a damp squib, but the rest is really impressive. The build was enjoyable and the end result looks good and has excellent "swooshability". :-)
I have also just started rebuilding #70751 Temple of Airjitzu, this time with all the stickers applied, as my backup set turned up recently. I have just completed the Smugglers' Market and it already looks better with the addition of the few stickers required. I'm looking forward to seeing the final results.
I just bought ISBN1409333124-1: LEGO Minifigure Year by Year: A Visual History and it comes with..... A Star Wars Stormtrooper... That's it. My life is over. I have some Star Wars LEGO, which means that I have no excuse not to buy more.
Unless... I destroy the figure and free myself from this path to obsession and destitution.
Or, maybe, I'll just enjoy my one SW figure and convince myself that it is sufficient.
;-)
(Well, I need more than one, I just can't get more than one.)
;-)
Just received it today from a Bricklink store in Russia, which I was worried was going to be very sketchy. I was happy with how fast I ended up getting it, and the box was surprisingly in good condition.
Anyway, I have wanted an AT-AT since about 1982, and my inner 7 year-old is deliriously happy. I promise to take care of him and give him a good home. I plan on calling him Shooty.
I can only hope there is another version coming. Maybe even an AT-ST.
Building wise, I need to find more purple bricks in the basement to build a rainbow with my 4 year old. He put this leprechaun together and now he wants us to build it "a huge rainbow".
Yesterday I finished 21304: Doctor Who - I am really pleased with it: no stickers, great minifigs and Dalek mini-builds, elegant aesthetics for the police box and a good-looking central console.
Concurrently, I'm now half-way through 76051: Super Hero Airport Battle - the tower is a good size and has some good play features. Giant-Man is really good. The minifigs are a great selection. Just need to build the Quinjet now.
I can't take credit for the design though. I bought the instructions for it on EBAY. It is nice alternate build for the haunted house that uses about half the pieces and almost all of the sand green.
I also had enough pieces left over to finish the fence all the way around my main haunted mansion.
i will stick them in later.
dont know the part count, but i use up 93% of all the sand yellow bricks
i know i have a lot of stuff left over. but that was always going to be the outcome.
them will get use in other MOC's.
Any idea how many pieces you used to complete the fence? I'm thinking of bricklinking a proper fence for my Haunted House, but I can't be sure how many and what pieces to actually buy. Some pictures of the sides and back would be nice too if you could, please. :-)
