Rare CMF's?

Im trying to clear out some old sets and raise some extra cash in the process. Ive noticed that in the CMF sets some of the minifigs have been rarer and more valuable than the others in the series (like the bumblebee girl). Is there a list of these out there somewhere? Or another site or a previous post I am not seeing? Kind of a pain to go through 12 sets of CMFs on ebay and price them all out.

    Rarity and price don't necessary go hand in hand here. Some common ones have become expensive. It's desirability vs quantity available that is important.

    Here's what you're probably looking for.  Note, it's pretty good as a general indicator, but still has some problems with some set #s.  In any event, it should give you an idea of what things are going for...

    1) Go to http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/lego_lot_price_calculator.cfm
    Note: You need to sign up for/be signed into Brickpicker

    2) Enter/paste set #s into the memo field, for example, paste all the following...

    71001-1
    71001-2
    71001-3
    71001-4
    71001-5
    71001-6
    71001-7
    71001-8
    71001-9
    71001-10
    71001-11
    71001-12
    71001-13
    71001-14
    71001-15
    71001-16

    3) Click "Process Sets"

    4) Review the sets identified (to see if you made a mistake with a number or something

    5) Click "Get Set Values"

    6) Stand back in awe of the Bumblebee Girl

    7) Profit! (optional - evil reselling plug)

    Well, that's it. I'm selling my Bumblebee Girl! Or... should I hold onto her a while longer and see if prices continue to go up? The dilemma begins...

    I say sell her instantly and grab the 1100% bird-in-hand increase.  It's not improbable that they could release her somewhere else like they just did with the Chicken Guy.

    I read that CMF Series 15 is being recalled, found that strange but they also showing sold out on S@H.. will it become a rare series..

    BL forum, did really thought it was true until I saw it Sold Out on S@H, they sais that the Shark Guy might be reason (copyright infringement for Kathy Perry)

    Googling reveals that no LEGO product has been recalled since 2009, and there were no results for anything being recalled now.

    No sure if recall would be the right word here, recalls are for safety reason, in this case, it looks like it was just stopped being sold (if that explains the sold out)

    Series 15 has been very elusive in my area. It might be that TLG has decided to cut back after the market wasn't able to support Simpsons Series 2 and Series 14. I have seen both of those series WAY after they should have been gone from stores.

    I have yet to physically see Series 15 at any store other than the toy store where I work part time. And at the store where I work, we usually get 5 cases of each series when they come out and no more. We ordered 5 cases of Series 15 and only received 3 cases with no chance to reorder more.

    I doubt they would pull Series 15 due to the shark guy and Katy Perry's attempt to cash in on the whole "left shark" thing. I don't think the figure doesn't look close enough to "left shark" to make lawyers nervous. More likely cutting production due to lingering product at EOL for previous series.

    This sounds like the Jabba's Palace scare from a few years ago.

    And there is no way a guy in a Shark Suit is some sort of enfringement with regard to the Super Bowl Halftime Show from two years ago.

    Series 15 is showing up as sold out on the Canadian shop at home site currently but were definitely available earlier at the Lego Store here locally.

    I thought Katy Perry had tried and failed to acquire copyright for Left Shark shortly after the Super Bowl? So perhaps the issue is some other legal matter, or perhaps QC of some kind.

    I wonder if kids are sticking the mace up their nose, in their ears or somewhere else and the spiked part is getting caught and the bar is coming out thus leaving a spiky object inserted that cannot be removed.

    I hadn't realised they were making maces in two pieces now! I suppose it only takes one; TLG can't be thrilled with news stories like that one from a few weeks ago (illustrated, IIRC, with a brick from a competing brand)...

    Or I suppose it could be cracks.

    in Ireland i did buy 5 get 1 free twice ,didnt feel the first 9 but got 4 of the 6 i wanted, felt for the other 2 (queen is easiest to find) ,they dont feel like they'll stay assembled so well loose head pieces ,only as a cheap price would i have bought them ,getting burned out as they seem to have less accessories and the price is going up, a shop here is 3.50 yoyos each but usually do 3for 2 to clear out stock, although it is a toy i cant see how they can get so expensive

    I doubt it is the shark guy, considering there have been shark costumes for a long time.. It could be the Wrestler and the family or WWE complaining it looks like the Ultimate Warrior, but I'm guessing the real culprit is paranoia that occurs every series when they temporarily show as 'sold out' while they make more. I expect them to be back in stock in about 5-7 days. Then everyone who freaked out can look silly.

    Wonder if the sellers trying to sell shark guys or wrestlers on eBay came up with those rumors as the price would skyrocket if the rumors of having to pull those two figures would be true. Especially since it seems like series 15 has been harder to find (at least in my area)

    There's a link in the front page story about this - TLG say they definitely didn't recall it. So apparently Tesco's just yanking them, perhaps to make way for overpriced chicken man minifigs...
