I'm not a fan of the cartoony faces either, but I'm a sucker for the LEGO Super Heroes sets and I'll still buy them anyway. :)

I would be disappointed if they were characters that we don't already have.

Was hoping this would be a good way to source figures cheap but with the tinypants and goofy faces I am not at all interested. Love that they redid the Powerminers truck for Bane though. Genius.

I like 'em enough that I will likely pick them up for cheap figs/parts.  I'm hoping that they have double sided expressions?  That's probably too much to hope for tho...

I don't like the faces, and it's good to be warned about the tinypants - I was thinking they'd be a relatively cheap way to get some Marvel/DC character figs, but this makes me less keen.

So many don't have hair so that's probably a bit hopeful even for the rest.
Several of the current TV superhero shows have gone for this more cartoon face, teen titans springs to mind, so I can see these doing well with the target audience. I know we will have several in our house and I have no shame in saying some of them will be for me!

I really like the title of this discussion.. I was kinda disappointed about the short legs and cartoony faces.. I initially was going for some remakes of minifigs I already have, but my interest in these have fallen.. more money to spend on other (better) sets!!! :)

There are a few MARVEL sets I don't have because of price, I came back into Lego as some of sets had already disappeared off shelves, but these 'Mighty Micros' will be the first Lego MARVEL products that price isn't a factor, I won't be getting them, even on clearance. I just hope that these sets aren't a sign of things to come...

I personally feel '76064 - Spider-Man vs. Green Goblin' fits the best with this 'Mighty Micros' concept. I dislike this concept overall, I was hoping for simpler versions of 'Star Wars, Microfighters' instead. Although Deadpool would have suited this concept. quite well.

@Adzbadboy I was hoping with the first announcement of them, that we'd see something akin to the SW Microfighters, it's not like it's not possible (I managed quite a few just goofing around with LDD), I'm currently doing some DC Comics designs for the DC fans out there, should have them up in a few days.

I don´t really understand all the bashing against those racers?! I guess their goal is to attract young kids who aren´t (already) into Super Heroes, the overall goofy/whacky style only makes sense here! Of course, for a AFOL who collects Super Heroes these may be a bit dissapointing because of the short legs, and the faces but i think it was pretty ingenious to put these on the market!

@Diggydoes, aren't already into superheroes? Yeah, train missed, completely... These have a very Teen Titans Go vibe to them, which can appeal to some Superheroes fans. A couple of goofy/whacky racers aren't going to win MARVEL or DC many, if any new fans. Our little mister six & his friends all looked at pictures whenever I was on Flickr & came across them over the last few days, none of them seemed impressed. One of them even called them really, really, really stupid (I might have left out a really or two).

@VorpalRyu I am dissapointed the mighty micros were not micro fighters styled. I must give you a hand though because you have done a great job on your own Super Heros Microfighters.

I can't help but feel that LEGO missed an opportunity. While I do enjoy the little sets, as different as they are compared to other super hero sets, I feel as something more substantial could have been done.

I'm not a fan if the heads, but I like the variations in torsos. Proper heads and legs are easy enough to find and the legs are great for more dwarves.

I see some usable MOC elements In there, liking the pumpkin head and certain wheel and tyre combos.

^Good point. The double wheel arches could do nicely for some small window toppers, especially if you aren't too worried about them sticking back into the interior.

That's a great idea; they could be perfect for a Hallowe'en display or a costume parade or party...

I really like the Mighty Micros, but I wish that they included regular minifig legs like MicroFighters. They could have done a slightly more substantial racer and included such minifigs - like this (http://ideas.lego.com/projects/42554)

While I respect Okay as a builder, I feel like the "chibi" characters and vehicles in the Mighty Micros result in sets with a bit more personality than his proposal. I think it's really respectable for LEGO to go out of their way to make these unique sets in their own right and not just glorified minifigure packs.

More importantly, they are going to sell a ton of these to their target audience.

    (BTW, that's not us.)

These could have been so much better, after the SW Microfighters, we get these for the SH themes? It wouldn't have been that hard & it's not like there are so few vehicles TLG would have been lucky to have a full series of six for either comics brand. I wouldn't claim to on same level as the designers at TLG, but I managed six DC & over 30 MARVEL vehicles without too much effort (still considering what other vehicles to attempt for both), you can them all here: https://flic.kr/s/aHskaGzJbn

I really like the comical faces as they are very Comic-esque. But the short legs kill it for me!

I don't really get the hating on these.  They aren't that bad and they are a throw away price at the end of the day.  If you don't like short legs, then unprinted normal length legs are pence on bricklink and most of these colours are available on B&P if BL doesn't float your boat.  Maybe slightly bigger vehicles would have been nice (like @VorpalRyu 's for instance), but they are a good bit better than the vehicles (I mean identical red car) that comes in the juniors sets.
Probably already said it earlier in the thread but we will be getting a full set for our house for sure.

Purchased #76202 set with Robin and Bane: This is definitely for smaller kids!!! Set says 5-12, but I can't see any kids pass 8 being interested in them. First the ones that don't have masks have that stupid silly expression and the short legs even on Bane. I am guessing it will be the same for other adult minifigs, Batman Catwoman etc.. I have to say there are a few nice elements in the set but not sure if that alone is worth buying any more of these.

Does anyone have the part number for the heads of batman and catwoman for 76061? I threw my part list away and need it.

The gorilla grodd goes bananas set had both flash and captain cold, no print on either's legs so you could just use the same.

I haven't picked that one up, I was hoping to just get this set and do a full leg swap.

They are probably  on bricks  and pieces or bricklink

My curiosity got the better of me and I picked one up as it was reduced... I ended up buying all three marvel sets. They are cute and I have to say I was quite impressed.

i very much agree with comments previously made about audience: older kids won't want them, adult collectors probably won't be interested. At full price, they aren't cheap and not exactly the advertised 'pocket money' price.

    but there's something about them!

Has any one else given them a go?
  • Coolguy5000Coolguy5000 Member Posts: 1,580
@LuLego I have all 6. The figures  are my favourite part of the sets. The flash vs captain  cold is my favourite  for dc while spiderman vs goblin  is my favourite  for marvel. Overall  the models are quite dumbed down.  I think if they had been split into  6 sets per marvel/dc  they would  have been more pocket money friendly ie €4.99 each for 1 model and 1 figure.
  • LuLegoLuLego Member Posts: 1,010
I think the green goblin is amazing! But hulk is cool too.
with all the figures, although they are simple, there's something 'special' about each one.
i like Spider-Man's expression and, when comparing him to the 10 normal Spider-Man figures I have, it made me question why Lego didn't ever change Spidey's head in all these years! His head looks great on a full size body.

i like them. Most people don't. But I do!

I love them, and just got my last two today. Hoping they make more next year.  Definitely need Thor vs. Loki and I'd like to see how they could cartoonify Iron Man's mask.
