ObiWanKenobi just need to have family or friends that come to US buy a few thing to take back with them.

This set is very similar to #75016 which is a more accurate version, unless you need need the minifigs or don't have the set its really not worth the cost to me.

I really don't understand why anyone is surprised, disappointed at all by the sets TLG produces.Especially when they give replies to customer reviews as such on their own website.

" We would first like to thank you for the review. Our designers always like to redesign our older sets to improve them for our fans and consumers. As for the minifigures we many times like to use the same minifigure for a set with minimal changes, unless it is warranted.

We will give this feedback to our designers, hearing what our fans have to say only makes us a better company.

Thank you again for your review"

If a set is too similar to something you already own or you don't like it,simply do not buy it

  • willobee498willobee498 Member Posts: 349
Of course I don't buy what I do not want. I also do not feel entitled enough to want a company to do things how I see fit. They have done many redesigns I loved, where a set was improved upon, as well as due to be made again. The pod racer set is one great example. But the above is very nearly an exact copy of a set that was released three years prior.

The reason I (and many others) are exceptionally critical of Lego, is because we love it so much.
  • flordflord Member Posts: 797
They remade this one so soon because the last one with Stass Allie was famous for not being able to stand up. Pretty frustrating to try to play with.

Really? I have neither set so cannot say either way, but the new one looks to have the exact same support structure/legs. Is it actually improved?
  • MrJ_NYMrJ_NY Member Posts: 592
I have seen & read reviews which complained about that exact fact. The 75142 is extremely stable & will stand up no matter what pose you put it in so other than deliberately knocking it off the table it's not going to fall over.I also like the Yoda which is exclusive to this set.

one has grey technic pins in the legs, the other black. you could probably make the change yourself with all the extra black pins you get in sets.

That seems like a serious overlook in the original design.  It is obvious the rotational forces are on those pins in the legs and that it would need the lengthwise friction ridges on the pin.  Wonder if the designer was new to using technic pieces.

Anyone hear of another ship to be release in the summer called the Wolf or similar to that?  Employee was not sure of the name and Captain Wolffe is the only thing I know close to that, maybe name of a ship in Rogue One .
Rey's Speeder had a SEL in some shops near me with the name Wolf 1.
It may just be a placeholder name to avoid spoilers

According to bricklink, it's the exact same Yoda as from #75017 Duel on Geonosis.

I assume it has a separate entry in the brickset database due to the addition of the neck bracket, which attached it to the light saber play function for the set. The colours do look different, but I suspect that to be a photography issue.

  • MrJ_NYMrJ_NY Member Posts: 592
Correct you are,I do not own Duel on Genosis and 75142 is the only set currently available with a Yoda minifigure.I prefer to buy the set than pay for a loose figure.

And you know that first page of instruction books, where it show you to (green tick) empty bags onto a flat surface, sorted by colour, but (red cross) not in a big pile?

On this occasion it's just swap the ticks, and done! :o)

(The funny thing is people would buy it, if the price per piece was favourable) XoD

That rehash is one of the more unbelievable sets these days...

I was really struggling to see what the differences were between the models, aside from the Minifigures.  I suppose if you're building an army of the droids it's a nice set, but I too feel like it's way too soon and way too similar.  Granted you can only change the model so much and still be accurate to the design.  But if you aren't able to redesign it all that much then perhaps it doesn't need to be released again.

Do keep in mind that kids are the primary audience for Lego Star Wars (especially regular retail sets like that), and they aren't all going to have access to Bricklink or the like. The whole point of rereleasing Star Wars vehicles is to make them available to a new generation of kids. In that sense, they don't have to change ANYTHING to make a set worth rereleasing, so long as it will be "new" to kids who are just getting into the theme and the old set is no longer available in stores.

I haven't seen any discussion about the new turbo tank (#75151). I feel like this is the best set in the upcoming set. It is perfectly flavored with Kashyyk troopers and Luminara Unduli(Who's not a OK lightup or a crappy clone wars version) along with that small clone walker that is seen in the third movie. It is priced at 109 which really isn't horrible considering what I payed for the original version. This might be the first set I actually buy from lego in a long time.

No exclusive Bail Organa minifigure... parts?  I'm underwhelmed.

And the UCS sticker should be on the side.  That way some of us can mistakenly be relieved that it is not a UCS playset.

Yes, that is very true, but it doesn't seem that it's been all that long since the first one was released, and the Star Wars subject matter lately hasn't featured that vehicle much.  I really don't care, and yeah, it's the same as with the Jedi fighters and such be rereleased every few  years.

The first lines of the video say it all, "over the years we have already done the play areas on hoth, this is the first time you get them all together in one big set."

"You can get pretty much all the cool stuff that is on hoth in one big set." Ya know except for the coolest thing on hoth, the AT-AT, we've included literally everything else there is on h it's "pretty much" all of the stuff on hoth. I'm actually mildly surprised they didn't throw in 350 random white/light blue bricks for "added creativity" or some poor excuse like that (to actually reach a brick count to match the price).

I find it curious that the new Microfighters show up at a second/third-string retailer in my area (Fred Meyer, kind of like a Kroger-owned Super Walmart) but not at the first-lines (Target/Walmart/Toys R US) or LEGO Shop yet.

Anyone else notice this? As a general rule, unless there's a killer percent-off I prefer to buy direct for the VIP points...

I saw most of the new Star Wars sets at a Meijer and picked some up. Then I went to another Meijer and they had nothing. None of the other stores had anything new either. Noticed that one of series 3 microfighters has a "warning: small parts" while all the others do not have that warning. Not sure why on that

NJ TRU and Walmart by me both had some of the new sets. TRU had #75137 #75136 #75134 #75133 #75139 and #75127. Wally only had 75127 as far as I could tell.

Looking at all the episode three ships there are  the battle of hoth is even more appalling. They could have made a venetor, the invisible hand, AT-TE, ARC-170, TX-130, AAT....*continues mumbling unintelligible names in anger*

I like the idea of having a rule where we are no longer allowed to type the word "podracer" into the forum. P**racer? P*******? Something, anything but the actual word.

Seriously Lego, who was clamouring for another P**racer?

I'd love more podracers (having loved the video game Star Wars Episode I Racer in my youth), but another one of Anakin's wasn't exactly high on my list (since the last one was so good), unless it was, say, a UCS set. Unfortunately, there's probably not much demand for podracers other than Anakin's and Sebulba's—and the last set to even include those was five years ago, so I guess it's about time for an update...

Hi guys, longtime lurker, new poster here. Hope this is the best place to ask: I'm wondering if anyone knows whether 75143: A-Wing Starfighter is going to be a UCS set? I've searched this forum to no avail, but haven't had chance to look elsewhere on the 'net. I'm really hoping it is, as I'm a big fan of SW UCS spaceships...

No it won't be UCS. The UCS sets for 2016 are 75098 Assault on Hoth, 75159 Death Star, and 75144 Snowspeeder.

Looks like there is a bit of footage/info leaked of actual Rogue 1 trailer. Judging from the footage this makes the retirement of 75054 AT-AT just as you release a UCS Hoth set a bit more understandable. The footage features an "early" version of an AT-AT in tan/beige colors with the door on the side,so it only makes sense Lego is working on the new version to coincide with the film.
Also of great interest are the black Stormtroopers/Deathtroopers and chrome/Phasma-like troopers shown

How do we know which sets are UCS? And why are we getting a third (fourth?) non-UCS A-Wing? Actually, I think I know the answer to that one...

^ best not start down the what is a UCS set argument or you could be here a while.
For the most part though if you use the main Brickset site and search for the Ultimate Collectors Series you will get a good idea of what is generally regarded as a UCS set or not.

There was a Walmart exclusive A-Wing named to come out but I guess they scrapped it last minute like the Podracer.

I find myself continuing to look at the Mandalorian Speeder from 2013, currently going for 2x rrp. Then I just saw Darth Maul in a Rebels trailer. What do people think are the chances of a new set with Robot Chicken Darth Maul in the next year? Deathwatch troopers are nice but I'm in it for the night brother.
