Ugh. I dislike bigfigs. Was hoping for a Killer Croc like the previous one.

Is the killer croc set based on Suicide Squad? Doesn't look like there are 'heroes' in this
    set..
  • monkey_roomonkey_roo Member Posts: 1,411
Reading the list of characters I would say it is, which is pretty cool, although Red Hood could be seen as a hero and a welcome member of the bat family

Must be...but I'm sure they didn't want to use the title "suicide squad" on the box.

While it looks like the Killer Croc set is being used to get some of the Suicide Squad film members mini figures out there I don't thin it's fair to say that it's 'based on Suicide Squad'.
In terms of Heroes Katana is actually far more often a Hero character than a villain, Red Hood has often been an Anti-Hero type character so it's pretty balanced from that perspective.

With the Scarecrow set I think it's a little bit of a shame that we don't get a new Batgirl to go against Killer Moth as Killer Moth is typically one of her earlier costumed villain take downs. Then again it's great to get a character like Blue Beetle, the description sounds like Jaime Reyes version, which isn't surprising, personally I'd have preferred a Ted Kord version, but he would look a bit odd in a Batman based set. Perhaps one day we might get a Ted Kord version with a Booster Gold and Skeets - a guy can dream :-P

Where is the Blue Beetle description? WHERE!!!! I missed that!

@Shib I too am a huge Ted Kord fan.

@DougTemplar - Article on the main site http://brickset.com/article/18856/london-toy-fair-report-dc-super-heroes

Blue Beetle has a new neck attachment and wears the same wings as Beetle from 76005 Spider-Man: Daily Bugle Showdown

The fact he has wings and a new neck attachment to me says Jaime Reyes.

Lol I checked the forum first as I always do and then went off to the front page and realised how daft I'd been.

I agree sound likes Jaime Reyes but any Beetle is better than no Beetle! :)

I'm still not 100% sure that there will actually be any LEGO DC Superhero Girls sets, I know that the press release DC put out mentioned LEGO but I think there's a good chance that they made a mistake when putting them on that list, there's already been so much stuff announced under that merchandise line that if it doesn't work out LEGO will be brining sets out late to the game in a failing licence.
Obviously I could be wrong but thats my take on it.

Definitely agree with you on that. In fact we're starting to get to the point with DC mini figures that my wishlist character numbers are starting to get really low. If LEGO put out a Deadman mini figure (one I've relegated to the 'never gonna happen' category) then I'll actually be content with having a Batman army to get all these different characters. There are a lot of characters I'd still love to get, but now we are seeing more obscure characters the balance is really shifting. Now WB need to announce a Justice League Dark movie and a Secret Six movie to increase the chances of the last few must have characters for me ;-)

Also on the Suicide Squad subject, it occurred to me that one of the Squad members that I would most want a mini figure of is not yet in the works, Enchantress, I wonder if this is because her SS design is so removed from the typical comic designs that LEGO couldn't see a way of getting away with a comic book styled set including a SS member.

Regards DC Superhero Girls the only things I've seen so far are the Dolls and the Action Figures. I suspect the line is going to go well as Disney have vacated that space with their determination to push Princesses which does them very very well indeed.  So much in fact I wondered if there was pressure from Disney to hold LEGO back on the DCSHG line as it would eat into their licence.

I do think that there are countless girls now who do want to be Superheroes as much if not more than Princesses.. I know my twins do.

I don't think LEGO could do much against LEGO wanting to do DC Superhero Girls stuff, they might try and intimidate them but ultimately the call would be much more down to DC and LEGO. After all if Disney threaten to pull agreements with LEGO they have Friends/Elves to compensate for the lack of Disney Princesses and DC to compensate for the lack of Marvel, Disney might have the ability to bully their way around some companies but given LEGO's current standing I'd imagine that LEGO are in a better position to tell them to get stuffed than the other way round.

With regards to the DC Superhero Girls stuff I was talking a lot of Merch in general, not just toys, theres been all the usual stationary and backpacks type stuff coming through, if there was nothing from LEGO at the Toy Fair then they are massively behind on it.

I see what you meant now. It did occur to me however that the whole thing might be held back from the press etc until New York Comic Con. I get the impression from the website (despite the videos all in other languages now) it's toy offering is US Centric.
  • wardmwardm Member Posts: 887
By 'based on suicide squad' I didn't necessarily mean the movie, just the concept.. and by 'no heroes' I also thought about them being anti-heroes...
Will this set only be vehicles or do we get some 'sewer' too? What do you guys think?
  • LostInTranslationLostInTranslation Member Posts: 5,572
I didn't really see any sewer model.  Just Croc and his chomper mobile thing and the bat tank, Katana and her motorcycle.
But we really didn't get as long as we wanted to note all the details.
And I just get distracted by cool minifigs!

@LostInTranslation thanks! :) Yes, I can imagine... I really like the line-up for all super heroes figs!

Just noticed #76056 Rescue From Ra's Al Ghul in the database. First I have heard of it, any other info anyone has come across? Looks like it is a store exclusive so hasn't been shown at the toy fairs. Hopefully has a Talia minifigure too. Nice to see this gaping hole in the Batman villain line up getting filled.

I have trawled through the murky depths of Eurobricks and found these two comments from Just2good.

Okay, yes, it includes Ra's, all I know about it. And it's mid-sized, not anything too big.

76056 Rescue from Ra's al Ghul. Retail exclusive. Est. $30.

There's much speculation that Talia will be included and probably Batman as the third figure.  Possibly a fourth minifigure?

^ Damien Wayen/Robin could be the fourth figure depending on what story line they are using.
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,636
^Seems there will have to be two hero characters based on the name so you could be right.
  • DougTemplarDougTemplar Member Posts: 638
What no love for an Arrow set for Ra's ? ;)

I guess I should learn to be more specific on the Internet to avoid snark, and say NON BATMAN buildings.
Notice when I said mainly vehicles? That would imply that there are SOME buildings but not that many and certainly not deviating from Batman.

Meanwhile I have a Daily Bugle, Avengers Tower, Hydra Fortress, Stark's House, a couple of science labs, and a construction site from Marvel.

My perception is that Marvel sets seems to have more variety in buildings, while it seems DC sets rely on Batman way to much (and in my opinion that's boring and stale). Which drives me nuts because I am a huge DC fan.

I like where you're going with this. But I have one question: what type of Batman minifigure will come with each of your proposed sets?

Anyone know what this set is going to be:

    30606: {Unknown}

Yes, I'm not hopeful about a positive answer, but happy to accept guesses too!

  • gmonkey76gmonkey76 Member Posts: 1,831
Two new Dimension sets are in the database #71340 Supergirl and #71342 Grenn Arrow. I hope they are different versions and not the ones in the sets, but I think that's unlikely.

I would be happy with a Green Lantern Corps set.  Give me John Stewart, Red Lantern Guy Gardner, and a bigfig Kilowog and some crazy trans-green builds and that would sell like hotcakes.

    We're also getting Talia too.

So before I buy #6860 on the secondary market, is there any chance of a new (modern) Batcave in the next year? #6860 is from 2012 so I'm wondering if we're due.
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,636
^ surely there will be a batcave set of some sort tied to the LEGO Batman movie.
  • SumoLegoSumoLego Member Posts: 15,229
^^ Batcave are only slightly less frequent Police Station or Fire Stations or Millenium Falcons.

    There will be another...

Has anybody found the version of Cosmic Clash with the Cosmic Boy minifigure anywhere in the UK yet? The next film with the Nightwing figure is available for preorder on Amazon UK for about £9 for release in July but I am still unaware of where to find Cosmic Boy!

^ Not seen it anywhere and I have been looking but thanks for the heads up I didn't know about the new film and could do with a blue nightwing to go with my red one.

I heard it's not available in the UK with Cosmic Boy anywhere. Unless one imports from the USA.

UCS Tumbler seats 8 and has room for several more to run around screaming with their hands in the air...

Annoying that the cosmic boy version hasn't shown up anywhere in UK yet. Interesting that amazon have the nightwing fig in the description but no picture. Thanks for the heads up.

From the main site. Baddie minifigures look perfect but not sure I am too enthused with desert Batman. The BatBuggy looks almost as tacked on as the gates do. Will probably get for the figures and dump the parts into the MOC piles.

the set doesn't know what it wants to be... (it looks like a worse version of the mirkwood barrel escape set from the hobbit) but I'll get it anyway
  • dannyrwwdannyrww Member Posts: 1,394
To be fair...great parts if you are into Castle builds like me.
  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,679
barely, since half the budget went into the buggy. they probably could have dumped it and made a more substantial fortress. I recall the pit being slightly bigger than a bath tube, no?
  • monkey_roomonkey_roo Member Posts: 1,411
Looks a fun set with several much needed figures, but a bigger pit connectet to the building structure and no buggy, in 20 years of reading batman comics I don't recall him ever having a buggy. Still looking forward to getting this one.
