They are apparently mirroring the TRU sale going on BUT the Creator bike shop at TRU went from being 72 dollars to being on 'sale' for 80... got to love TRU.

Also Corner Deli is on sale at TRU but not at Amazon (31.99)

#41105 is also available from some marketplace sellers for around $30. No worrying about adding something for free shipping, and sales tax isn't added.

We've talked about the cheap LEGO Education baseplates. Amazon also has some cheap LEGO Education piece and minifigure lots, both LEGO and DUPLO.

I can't seem to find the link on Amazon.com to submit a lower price.  Specifically, I'm hoping they will price match [email protected] #7280 (Straight & Crossroad Plates).  Does anyone know where to submit the lower price?

I think it is in the amazon product listing page itself (in this case go into the listing for the #7280), there is a link about tell us of a lower price or something like that

I thought so too, but it's not on that specific product page.

Yeah, noticed that too.. weird. You can always contact their CS and ask them about it.
I checked their help page and see only a blurb about how they only price match TVs now. I wonder if they stopped allowing people to report a price change?

They removed the ability to submit price matches after the first of the year.

Amazon has a deal going right now where if you purchase $50 in giftcards you get a free $10 giftcard for yourself.  Has anyone tried buying the giftcard for yourself and getting the free $10?
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,342
Apparently Amazon has raised its free shipping threshold on non-books, used to be $35 now it's $49. (or $25 of books and any amount of other items)

Admittedly makes sense for a high volume low margin operation. Maybe I'll get 2 of those baseplate packs, rather than 1 and a throw-in.

YEah, was indifferent to joining prime, but when they had that sale where the membership was 73 dollars instead of the 99 I joined, now I get packages on Sundays and do not have to pay extra for it. I have not even tried the other benefits of the membership, like the streaming but so far I'm happy with it.

I have been Prime member for 4-5 yrs and have no complaints, I use the video service here and there but for all the stuff I have purchase, mostly Lego, to get free 2 day shipping that's the best part. I also like the automatic price adjustment they make if you pre-order something and the price goes down.

Their music service is awesome too.  Not like Pandora.  You can add songs to your library and make your own playlists.  Not every song is available but there is a ton that is.  If you are older and into 70-90's you will be pleased

I don't shop on Amazon enough to need Prime (maybe that will change as I come further out of my dark age), and I've got other things going for music

I have liked Prime when I got free trials or had it for college textbooks, but I really don't use it often anymore.

I use Amazon Prime music a lot and I love the 2 day shipping. It is worth it to me.
  • CircleKCircleK Member Posts: 1,055
The unlimited cloud storage for photos is a really nice Prime benefit as well.  I use the hell out of their music service though.  We actually have an Amazon Echo device that we stream music to in our home.  I love that thing.

We buy a lot from Amazon so the free shipping is great, but I rarely take advantage of the "two Day" part b/c I'm usually not in a rush for the things I order.  I opt for the slower shipping whenever I can and then let them credit me a $1.00 for future digital orders, which I use to buy season passes to television shows and movie rentals.

Yeah, it's great. Before I joined Prime, I'd worry about buying more to hit the free shipping threshold. Now, I do the opposite splitting up orders to maximize the digital credit for slower shipping deal. On top of that, half the time, the items arrive super fast any way!
  • DawnDawn Member Posts: 237
I receive more in free digital credits every year than I pay for prime (works well as my daughter gets tons of kindle books).
Another trick is that if I multiple items is to have one with 2 day shipping and the others  using slower shipping with digital credit. In more than 50% of the time, they will ship them all together as it is probably cheaper for them to ship a slightly bigger package in 2 days than multiple packages.

I also did not know this.  How do you do it?  Is there any trick to it?  I don't think I've ever noticed any kind of credit if I select slower shipping.  Like yourself, I'm usually not in that big a hurry for stuff I order.

It's not always there, but at the end of the checkout process, you can select shipping options (1-day, Prime 2-day, standard shipping, and no rush).  If there's some sort of credit, it'll be written next to the "no rush" option.  I mainly get $1 digital credit with it but there were times where they gave $5 Prime Pantry credit or something like that.  There also have been some items in the recent past where I wasn't offered any sort of credit with the "no rush" option and in those cases, I just make use of my Prime shipping.

Yep.  I havent really been able to establish a pattern of when the offer appears nor have I ever looked into it. I take advantage every time I see it though (unless i need a rush delivery). As someone else mentioned, my items typically arrive sooner than the expected delay date. Sometimes even in two days.

Prime is a little weak on the television streaming side IMO when compared to Netflix and Hulu, but it's by far the better deal overall if you make use of the other services.
  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Member Posts: 1,659
I see it on any item that offers prime shipping, except for pre-orders.
I sometime get a $1 credit for Amazon Pantry instead of digital.

The Tumbler is coming in and out of stock on Amazon right now at retail.  If you turn on one click buying and refresh like a maniac you might get lucky.
  • Sethro3Sethro3 Member Posts: 999
I don't mind waiting for things, but since I don't use ebooks or digital videos/music whatever, I never use the 1$ credit, so I might as well opt for the faster shipping. All of my pantry credits have expired too because I don't use most of the items they have on there.

But the shipping benefit is great. We do watch some of the free shows, but I don't have time to ever pay for a rental or anything.

I was wondering how long it typically takes for Amazon to start selling new Lego sets?  And by selling, I mean by Amazon and not through a 3rd party for twice retail.  I have a gift card I wanted to spend on the new Star Wars sets.

It depends. If the set is exclusive to a retailer and TRU, then Amazon will not see it (unless a 3rd party seller has it). Otherwise I think it takes about 30 days from seeing it online somewhere else to being on Amazon, maybe sooner, but fairly certain Amazon gets them last.
