    @Huw,

    Typo, Amazon price comparator notes:

Links with a yellow background show prices that are less than 25% RRP. The darker the yellow, the more the discount.

    I wish!

On my mobile (iPhone running Safari) this is the view I get of the main page:

It it appears to be caused by the Forthcoming Events section pushing the side out. Not a huge problem as I can click to zoom, but just a heads up :)

  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,088
Thanks. I could probably hide some of the columns on small screens.

@Huw - is there a problem with mini figure images this morning, just browsing some old castle sets and the mini figure images weren't showing, went to the castle mini figures section to check and no images loaded, checked a couple of other themes which seemed fine...

http://brickset.com/minifigs/category-Castle is where no images were showing, and going to each figures page doesn't show the image either.

BrickLink is down for maintenance http://www.bricklink.com/ for 4 hours.
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,469
    Ah, makes sense.
  • hleonffuhleonffu Member Posts: 247
@Huw My apologies if this was discussed elsewhere, but the ACM link no longer shows up in Gallery View. It does show up in the other views (List, Table and Classic). How do I re-enable that feature?
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,088
I suspect I've messed something up recently. I will check tomorrow.
  • hleonffuhleonffu Member Posts: 247
    @Huw Thank you.

Same here, I don't have the ACM link in the gallery anymore.
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,268
Not sure if others still have that problem or not, but the ACM link is still missing from the Gallery view for me.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,088
I'll be fixing it as soon as I'm back from vacation, hopefully on Tuesday.

It looks like there has been an update to the latest CMF series, which has left some of the entries on different numbers, it muddled up my owned/wanted ticks so just had to manually correct all of them - might be worth looking at that for future series, had I not noticed I'd have been confused next time I loaded up my list in store to remember which ones I need.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,088
They were originally added before the official order was known but were corrected a couple of days ago.

Surely you don't own any yet?
  • masterX244masterX244 Member Posts: 534
i think it affected his "wanted" ticks which are plausible already
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,469
I bought some on January 2nd and ticked the ones I had as owned. Other people had already ticked the owned box on some of them too (as I noticed that most had at least a few people owned them)
  • hleonffuhleonffu Member Posts: 247
@Huw Thank you for enabling the ACM link in Gallery View. Hope that it was not a huge effort.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,088
No, it was an error in the markup that caused it to disappear.
  • TkattTkatt Member Posts: 472
"Discounts at Amazon.com" has not been working for the U.S. today. Clicking on "view all discounts" brings no results.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,088
We have had to remove the US data as we are apparently violating Amazon's ToS. I'm hoping it'll be resolved this week.
  • ToddMyersToddMyers Member Posts: 403
Huw -- this morning, I cannot log into Brickset.com.  I can enter my user name and password, but when I click log in (or just hit enter), nothing happens.  I tested on both Firefox and IE, same result.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,088
OK, I found an issue, that I introduced earlier :(

    OK now?
  • ToddMyersToddMyers Member Posts: 403
Yep, all is good now. Thank Huw.
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,637
I keep getting "No Items Found" when looking up Amazon sale items for the US. Other vendors like Target and Walmart and Bricklink seem to be working though.

ah, next time I will read the previous comments more thoroughly.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,088
The issue is now resolved and the Amazon data is back, minus the historical information, which was the cause of the problem.

@Huw i've suddenly been getting presented with a Captcha (?) security page prior to accessing the brickset main site. This new or something odd happening? Anybody else getting this?

So basically we can no longer see what the lowest price point was and/or the graph details?

I've had this a few times too; I'd click on a brickset link and it pop up the security page first.

Me too, for the first time yesterday. It'll be Cloudflare that's doing it, probably for good reason.

I don't think it's become too annoying yet but if it does I will see if it can be disabled.
  • AdeelZubairAdeelZubair Member Posts: 2,704
I changed my time zone to London and now I get none of the articles on the home page. Just tells be to click to view more articles.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,088
It might right itself when you next start your browser, but if not clear cookies for the domain.
  • AdeelZubairAdeelZubair Member Posts: 2,704
Some how it's back to normal now :)

The Buy > Amazon Price Comparator seems broken right now, there's no prices, they're all marked as n/a. The discounts link work, though.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,088
It looks OK to me at the moment.
  • just2goodjust2good Member Posts: 247
Over the last few days, the search system has been out of whack for me. For example, typing in "bullseye" will bring me around thirty results with b and l in it, and what i'm looking for will be scattered in the middle (it's the two Target sets).

Also, it'd be nice to see if the search also searched the set's availability description (useful for seeing Target exclusives and whatnot).
  • tecjamtecjam Member Posts: 255
Here is another in regards to the search that was probably overlooked back in december. It's not a big issue, but I tend to copy and paste numbers more than I type and so it does annoy just a little:
    tecjam said:
No biggie, but I think the query string in searches should be stripping the spaces (%20) at the beginning and the end of first / last words.

At the moment it is being replaced with a '+' symbol, which does not actually give you any results for single terms. So if I search for '10221 ' ( <- with a space either in front of behind the set number or name) it does not give any results.

    http://brickset.com/search?query=10221+

The '+' replacement should only be used if you have multiple terms which are seperated by a space. eg: 'star wars' would query 'star+wars', which works fine.

In addition, it would be nice if there were a way to specify an exact search term. For example, when I search for "cat", I get a lot of irrelevant results (presumably due to the letters 'c-a-t' appearing in the "educational".

Well I just searched for 'Sith' in the Brickset database and got like 20+ results including the Statue of Liberty set..
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,088
It sounds as if my difference() function is more trouble that it's worth. Agree?
  • ricecakericecake Member Posts: 878
Well, I think it does have merit in that you don't need the exact search term (e.g., 'x wing' vs. 'x-wing'). Would it be possible to tweak it so that exact search terms can be used? Or possibly raise the threshold of what's considered a match (if it's not already only returning differences of 4)?
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,088
Yes, i'm only returning results of 4.
  • JayEmJayEm Member Posts: 62
Apologies if this has been discussed already, but when hovering over a price in the Amazon Comparator, it no longer shows the cheapest ever price. Not sure if this is a glitch.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,088
We had to remove it at Amazon's request.
  • ToddMyersToddMyers Member Posts: 403
Yes, because the last thing Amazon wants is an informed consumer.

Grrrr (anger not directed at you, Huw).
  • just2goodjust2good Member Posts: 247
Also, searching for sets like "71000-71005" (not specific, just an example) used to show all sets from 71000 to 71005, but now shows nothing.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,088
You need to change the scope to 'sets' for that to work:

When I'm logged in, the number of sets I have marked as owned and the number of minifigs I own are to the left of my username at the top of the screen.  When I delete a set from my list, those numbers do not change instantly -- I think I've seen it take a full day to refresh (whereas the numbers under My Sets / Sets Owned updates immediately).  Glitch or just a delay until the database refreshes?
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,088
Due to the time it takes to crunch those numbers they are cached in memory so, yes,  it could take a day to refresh.
