Picked up the two small sets to finish off the collection and got the Battle Station little box of cards with one Nexo Power and a Merlok "hologram" as a giveaway. I have no idea what to make of the box, it came with a card of the main guys and a base plate stick to the back of it to attach the Merlok. Anyone heard anything about this, it's listed in the database with little detail. Thanks.

This is the box part, each card is 2"x2" and there is one for each knight, Jestro, Beast Master, and Scurrier.

Lego Store, they didn't know what it was either, had it on the sales floor so I grabbed it with the other two items and they told me it was free.

^I think it's left overs from their promo between Jan 11-15 ; you get to build a vehicle and you get a Nexo Power. What's Merlok made of?

I just called and asked if they had more of the power ups, and from the event apparently you only got a card. I'll check out the store later for that pack you picked  cause it might be an entirely different thing. I like getting actual LEGO Nexo shields.

^Good cheap way to get a Merlok. I still want an actual, before he went kablamo.

There is a coupon for an exclusive Nexo Knight figure from July-September from the calendar, I'm hoping it is an actual Merlok as well.

@mhymerling Didn't find the box with the cards. The store clerks weren't even familiar with it. Were there more on the floor?
  • mhymerlingmhymerling New JerseyMember Posts: 14
Yes, they had just gotten them in. The manager wasn't sure what they were either, when the register told the cashier that it must be something new.

    Whoa exclusive Merlok print! Cool!

The Ultimate sets look cool, and I love the box art, but wish they were a bit cheaper. Local supermarket has all 6. I'm reminded of feminist complaints about female character merch being less available, but that's not an issue here.
I like the Knighton polybags. 30373 with a modern soldier and sidearm could easily be an antiaircraft weapon, and the included soldier would fit in with Castle.
70324 if I had to pick one of the larger sets.

I agree, Ultimates are a tad costly. I liked Chima speedorz and Ninjago airjitzu, but Nexo playability for these small sets is in an app game I don't enjoy.

Yeah, I don't want to mess with an app - not much space on my phone, and I don't have time for computer gaming in general. And I figure that it's for little kids like a lot of Nexo Knights companion stuff.

Ultimate Lavaria came today, most impressive minifig. Love the grinning face print as it's the only minifig face outside of custom prints that looks like it's positively enjoying the chaos she's causing without being jokey in any way. Unfortunately that will be it for me with this line as I just don't get a buzz from any of the builds so far. I want to like them but (and this is only my personal opinion) the sets look unfinished. To my eyes, with the current library of sloped and panel parts available there is just to much technic still on display that could have been covered to make some of the builds exceptional to look at as well as good play sets but when I look at the sets in the new catalogue I just don't think they look that good, especially when you look at what can be achieved with some of the designs from the Elves line (the front of #41078 -Skyra's mysterious sky mansion is a prime example of what can be achieved with some creative design).

#70331 Ultimate Macy has the highest piececount, but her weapons have a lot of smaller pieces. It's often hard to judge value by piececount for reasons like that.

Yeah, a Technic rather than traditional brick look is one of my issues with a lot of LEGO.
I do like the roof spires in particular on 41078.

Where can I find the full episodes? I'm liking a lot of what I've seen of the short clips.

If you have a cable plan that has Cartoon Network I believe you can watch the first five episodes on the Cartoon Network website for free. Otherwise, the first ten episodes (which I think might be the whole first season) are available for digital download from services like iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Video, etc.

I don't think any DVD sets have been confirmed yet, and it might be a while before the episodes are added to Netflix (although Ninjago and Legends of Chima seasons are on  Netflix so it's probably safe to say Nexo Knights will be added eventually as well).

There are also of course sites that host recordings of cartoons illegally, but I don't know which of those are reliable, and they would probably only have the first five episodes since those are the only ones that have actually been broadcast on Cartoon Network in the U.S.

I read articles about 20 episodes being made, but that may be an order for two seasons. I was afraid it would be hard to get without pay TV.

I hope somewhere down the road that the Lego Group does a crossover between Ninjago and Nexo. We all know the formula by this point....they meet, have a misunderstanding, fight and then team up to fight a common foe. Ultimate CLAY is a boss ass minifigure with the octupus arms and it would look awesome to engage multiple ninjas at once. Cole vs Axel. Nya vs Lacy. Total Awesomness!

    no idea as to why.
but only non-English copy's of the First 2 episodes are on YouTube now.

And how would you flesh out the rest of the board?

    King/queen - Magmar/Lavaria (Jestro is clearly a pawn ;) )

Woukd you swap out the Nexo Knights for the actual Knights?  What would the monster equivalents be?  The big figs?

This could be an epic chessboard.  Throw in some trans-borders and light-bricks to get some cool lighting effects.
  • AanchirAanchir United StatesMember Posts: 2,822
I had considered using King's Soldiers as the good bishops, Ash Attackers or Crust Smashers as the evil bishops, and having knights and rooks be brick-built so it's easier to recognize what pieces they're supposed to be. Trying to fit all five of the main Nexo Knights could be tricky unless you used them as knights, bishops, AND rooks. So it might be easier to leave them out entirely.

Not necessarily here but on reddit and other forums I'm seeing a lot of hate for the nexo knights. Now I've been a lego enthusiast since i was a wee lad. I loved Castle and space when i was young. But I'd always gravitate more towards space because in my mind a ship did more than a castle. For starters it flew. I always wanted a big castle but my parents thought they were too expensive.

When I got older I bought Star Wars legos mainly. I always looked at castles but couldn't justify the space they took up.

Now I know Nexo knights are aimed towards a younger audience but dang it, at 34 years old, I'm all in. I used lego points and got 50 bucks off the Fortrex, Library and Kings Mech. Love them all. I have the Fortrex set up with the library on my coffee table and when i glance at it I get this feeling of joy from it. I finally got my castle. Even if it's a Space Castle
Oh man now I don't feel so bad likin this set at 35... and I made up a lame excuse to get the fortrex for my 3 year son....i'm sure he will appreciate it in a few years when dad is done with it.... ; p

@Mosdvs Ha are you sure you are ever going to pass it on?  I keep buying some sets with the same idea in mind for my grandkids but not sure I will be able to let go of them that easily.  More likely I will need to buy them their own sets once they are old enough.

I'm holding out for Jestro's Fortress.  The Fortrex looks too cramped, I expect a better redesign or a UCS version in a year or two.

In fact all of the bad guy sets look much better than what Nexo Knights are fielding (with the exception of 80% of the King's Mech, the off sword arm looks dumb).  If I get it I fully intend to convert into a massive tower shield.

Episode 6 ("The Golden Castle") premieres this Thursday! According to Wikipedia there will be a new episode each Thursday in March. They don't have a source listed for that though.

I don't see why it wouldn't; Chima and Ninjago both have. It seems usual with kids' shows that they first split a season into different volumes but then eventually release a box set - looking at Amazon, that seems to have been the pattern with Chima.
  • AanchirAanchir United StatesMember Posts: 2,822
In the United States, Ninjago has generally had full season DVDs from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (link). Seasons 1, 2, 4, and 5 were all released as complete season two-disk sets. The only season that was split into multiple volumes was Season 3 ("Rebooted"), which is rather strange since it's by far the shortest season (just eight episodes). The first seven episodes of Season 2 were also published as an individual volume called "Rise of the Green Ninja", but this was followed up with a Complete Season 2 set rather than a second volume to complete the season. Season Two is the only season that was released on Blu-Ray.

In Germany, Universum Film (link) published the first two seasons as "complete season" DVD sets. Subsequent seasons have been split up into two volumes. But they are unique in that they published a compilation box set of seasons 1–5 plus the original TV special/pilot (a total of 56 episodes) on ten disks. They also publish teleplays of the series on CD.

In the UK, it seems like Warner Home Video publishes the Ninjago DVDs. I'm having a hard time finding information about them, but it seems like most seasons are split into multiple volumes.

*drops head on to desk.* -(thunk)-
dam it. i HATE having to hunt for multiple volumes.
for 1 thing back when i was a kid multiple volumes = NEVER releasing all Volumes!
= start you get to watch the start of the Show but never the end!. it use to drive me up the wall.!

The full season is available from Amazon Video for streaming or download. I paid $20 for the whole season and I really enjoyed the show.

You youngsters have no reason to feel bad for liking this "kid's" toy / show. I just turned 48 and I love it too! The TV show has some awesome references to Monty Python and The Lord of the Rings, so I can tell they're aware that adults might enjoy it as well. That makes it far more fun for people like us to watch. Kids wouldn't get why the Black Knight is standing there saying "YOU SHALL NOT PASS" over and over, but anyone who's seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail will get it, plus they'll enjoy how the Black Knight loses one limb after another, eventually saying "it's just a mech wound".

Great show, great models, and I cannot wait to get my first castle (Fortrex).
