that makes the kwik e mart looks small. I mean, compared to wu's dragon that I also own.
also there is a thread. "how did you accommodate your house" something like that.

    your right it do,
but the kwik e mart is as deep as the shelf, Wu's Dragon on the other hand is just big.
he got a far number of part's to him. but he also got a lot of open space around them part's.
and thanks i'll look for the thread,

    is this that thread?

WIP of a modular I've been kicking around in my head for the past year. Ground floor is a LEGO store with interior still under development. Upper floors are basically a facade. Currently debating whether to add one more floor or not. Height without a roof on it right now is about equal to the Fire Brigade.

@chrisalddin, you missed the pink period on brickset.  You should look up the photos of @Pitfall69's pink un-haunted house :-D

I used the sand blue pieces for a corner bike shop (photos published previously).

Another Arvo Brothers Alien Project completed.

I'll be subjecting the wedges of the base to the hydrogen peroxide whitening method in the spring/summer as sunlight is in short supply at the moment.

Whats the rough cost for the build from scratch? And whats your thoughts on the finished model? Would really love to build this

£300 including the book. Aware of the potential demand for parts I Bricklinked as quickly as possible and didn't optimise the ordering process (minimising the number of stores). This meant postage was roughly £80. However, I gathered parts as soon as the book was available - certain brick prices have increased considerably in the meantime.

It's an impressive, imposing figure (51cm tall) with incredible detail. I can't imagine I'll ever do a more intricate build.

Got my used set of Palace Cinema. For the most part it's a clean set. Missing 5 pieces which is not too bad. The limo needs a good clean some it's sitting in pieces in so hydrogen peroxide. The box came damages on the bottom but ohh well it's just a box.

Last builds were Parisian Restaurant, Sandcraweler and Ghostbusters vehicle.  Nothing since then.  I am out of space and have no time currently.  Still collecting though.

I am feeling the burn that many of us go through. :( :( :(

I will have a supreme pile of goodies to build when the time comes.  I think I need an extra house for all the sets and MOCs I have planned.  Had to downsize to a smaller apartment last year.  My time is mostly spent at school, on homework, or at work.

Someday though, someday!!  Sadly, might be a few years :(

Right now, I'm building a police station out of 60047: Police Station and 4440: Forest Police Station using the baseplate from 7627: Temple of the Crystal Skull. It's turning out pretty dang well! I have three prisons, a radar tower, a garage, a couple of crooks trying to escape, and a police tower! :)

Just put together #75139 (Maz Kanata's castle) - I see it on the photos now that I know to look, but prior to building I'd completely missed that one of the stormtroopers had a riot baton and is therefore TR-8R (I know they've given him an official name, but that's going to remain his real name).  Nice little surprise there.

i have 3 of the 6 set's listed here and wish to have the other 3,
haveing said that, the mini is way down on my list and big bang is cool, but i just may not have the cash to get it, others have higher priority
we will see when i get close to the time to buy more lego, what, i will get.

    lol,
    building is fun.
i would offer to build them for you, if, 1, you was not in the USA, 2, and the USA was not so faraway. and 3, the USA is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mindbogglingly big it is.
also i don't think you could pay what i would charge for me to build them :p

    and a update,
i have the lower part of the house done now,
just have to build the top, which can wait.
i need a brake. and maybe to sleep.
will probably go back to building in the morning some time around 9 to 10am UK time.

Did a couple more minor customs for my Force Awakens shelves, and thought I'd share the lot - nothing ambitious, but I like 'em:

    From left to right:

Poe and Finn (are they collectively 'Pinn' or 'Foe'?) - in Finn's case, just about the most obvious 'custom' ever, and without a doubt there'll be a proper Poe along soon; that one's just an Indiana Jones (I think) head, with the mechanic hair because it seems to kind of fit him (the more ruffled black hairpieces I had to hand didn't look cool enough).

JB-007, another simple one (just making use of the helmet, and the head underneath, left over from making Stormtrooper Finn), but my favourite.  He skulks in the back of my First Order shelf, as I like to imagine after the film he transfers to intelligence, and gets sent on missions across the galaxy to glamorous locations where he infiltrates crime syndicates and seduces sexy aliens.  But he keeps the helmet on the whole time.

HURID-327, the droid seen outside Maz Kanata's castle; more impressionist than accurate (and limited by my not wanting to spend ages on it, so I only pulled a single storage bin out of the shelves and made do with the pieces I could find in it).

and Rey, or more to the point Rey's speeder, with a net attached - in addition to the tools that used to be mounted on the side of the speeder, I stuck in a Sakaaran blaster from one of the Guardians of the Galaxy sets to bulk it out; ought to be worth a dozen rations at least, salvage from a whole different galaxy.  I really liked that bit of Rey sitting around with the helmet on, so that's my little homage to it, with an ice stick instead of a flat tile for a survival ration because it seems more fun - also it makes for a cute little bit of symmetry, since the shelf above hers is Echo Base, where Leia's also snacking on an ice stick.  And since the shelves are wire mesh and get light shining through, she is technically sitting in the shadow of an AT-AT's foot, so there's that too...

i am declaring the Simpsons house as done.
    there was 1 bad part,
it look's like there was left over color from the last batch and there are flacks of black in the tan Brick 2 x 2 Corner, so i going to phone Lego on Monday to see what them can do.

i have 13 set's to pick from so i dont know what is next.
ok so 8 out of them 13 are mixles. :)
    and 1 is olaf.

Since returning to the hobby I have mainly gone for Star Wars sets or the larger technic builds but after I brought the WV sets for my Christmas display I brought a couple of the 3 in 1 creator sets at discount as I was going to try and add to the winter sets. Time got the better of me over the festive period and they both stayed boxed.
Now that the place is back to normal I thought I would see what they were like and have just finished #31025 mountain hut. After building a lot of the larger sets I was not expecting too much from building something like this but although not a technical build it is quite a fun set and I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out. Will probably leave it assembled for a couple of days then have a go at one of the other builds. I don't think I will overlook these sets as much as I have done previously.

@bandit778 I liked #31038-1 Changing Seasons as an addition the the Winter Village scene.  I didn't think of adding the mountain hut and don't own one but that might work as well.  Good thought.

#31038 was the other 3 in 1 set that I purchased as I  thought it would go well with the winter village as well.
Looking at #31025, with the addition if some spare white bricks and tiles I think it will fit in nicely.

    right brake time.
    the TARDIS insides are done,
for the blue lightsaber part only 3 had air bubbles in them.
so i rooted over all my star wars set's until i found 3 that A had no bubble or B you would not see said bubble in the built of the Dr Who set.
why did i do this? this is one set i wish to look perfect down to the smallest part.
so i even swoped some of the Technic Axle #4 when the Bars used on the side of the build was a bit loose and did not hold well, the Axle are ok for normal Technic use, just not the grip for small bars.
i have 2 daleks and the outside of the TARDIS left to build.

will be starting the build of set #70751 Temple of AirJitzu shortly.
i am going to try to make this build last. it will be 3 weeks before i can get more Lego set's and then it is only Wall-E and some pick a brick parts that i plan to get.
so got to make it last.
I may. Just may. have too much time on my hands.

  • chrisalddinchrisalddin Member Posts: 3,041
why do i feel like i am the only one building right now?
anyway. got the 1st building in the #70751 set done. and i am surprised at how good it looks for so little brick work.
this little build would have made a good little set all by its self.
when i looked at the part's for this little build in my parts tub. it did not look like you could build a building with it.

anyhow. as i am admiring the little build, i better start to think ware i will display the full set when it is done. i may do a full Ninjago display on the table i normaly build on. as i will be done with the big builds and i can go back to my bed building :p

I think a lot of us can't afford to stockpile sets to build (or maybe it's just me anyway). I'd save for months to buy one big set, and then hold out on building it because I don't want it to be over so quickly. And then I finally build it over a couple of days or so, then I'm back to having nothing to build. Plus with a full time job and housework and a rather quiet social life, I don't find much building time.
