Just got back from the local LEGO store with the #75827 Ghostbusters HQ and #21028 New York City Skyline (as well as the #5004388 Nexo Knights promo). I can say I've never seen a LEGO box in person as big as the one for the Ghostbusters set. How big are the boxes for the Taj Mahal and the UCS Millennium Falcon compared to it?

Spent way too much money, not overly thrilled with the price per piece on the Ep 7 stuff, but I bought it anyway.

I had a quick trip to the LEGO store today for the bank, olivia's exploration car, Captain Phasma and a second corner deli. I would have bought the Valentine dog for my 4 year old but they didn't have them yet. I wasn't at the store too long today so I didn't get a good look at HQ. The mall closed early and I needed to get over to the thinkgeek store to pick up a gift so I was in and out of the LEGO store pretty quickly.

Just found #41545 (Kramm) in a charity shop! It was going for normal retail price, but I was able to justify buying it for myself so soon after Christmas because it was a good cause. :D

Just bought a misb 7189 for its fantastic peasant torsos (yes it was still on the shelves after so many years along with 2-3 more. I had to show it some love), 3-4 mixels to reach the lowest discount sum at the shop and waiting for misb 4181. Also bought a used but complete 6276 and 3 more pretty incomplete sets

Just got the Doctor Who set for Christmas. Now I am moving onto the Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ, Poe's X-Wing, and the Battle on Takodona. Can't wait but 350 $ on the GB HQ is quiet the dent in my wallet

Where did you manage to find Mill Village Raid? Every copy I've found has been ridiculously overpriced

I just bought a friends camp set and two more friends party sets. My 4 year old son put this little set together and he has really taken a liking to the friends theme so that's what I'm buying more of.

just placed a order for 10218:  Pet Shop. from Smyths Toys shop in the uk payed £99.99 saving £20
    got free Express Delivery

this will be my 2nd copy of this model but seeing as i already started on MOC-ing the 1st one into a Lego Store, this saving i could not say no.
  • BrikingBriking Member Posts: 768
^You can't have too many of the terraced houses. If it is just the pet shop itself you used for the Moc, try building the new terraced house mirrored. Two mirrored terraces next to each other look great!

I have spent quite a bit the past few days on Lego. I've picked up the Ferris Wheel and Cinema last night and the day before i bought the Creator corner deli and cabin. The day before that i got the Mystery Mansion out from a layaway. Plus a few small sets and polybags mixed in too.

10x WHITE lamp posts with white dish and trans minifighead (6€/piece is insane but ohh so beautiful)

200x medium dark flesh profile brick

    some windows
    some doors

and a ton of black slopes in all variations

Preordered multiples of the Dimensions Cyberman Fun Pack. I have never seen Doctor Who and have no idea who or what Cyberman is, but that minifig is a PERFECT Iron Man suit design. And at the moment my suit variations total more than even Tony Stark had.

Just bought a load of ME Models wide-radius train track. The cost of postage to the UK nearly made my eyes water, but I bit the bullet. Of course, I'll have to pay import duty (and handling fees) as well before I get my hands on it...
  • tick1970tick1970 Member Posts: 117
It's sort of a quiet period amazon etc are laying low for good sales. Maybe when all the 2016 stock starts filling shelves other stuff will get moved on. Although a lot of Star Wars stuff ATATs star destroyers etx have retired and made room

    or ....
nope all i got is a time machine,
Or he just hit the Loto. and got a big win.
because normal people don't have the money to buy all 4 of them in one go.
    let do the maths here.
we will use both UK and USA price's.

    #75827 GB Headquarters £274.99 / $349.99
    #10251 Brick Bank £119.99 / $169.99
#10240 UCS X Wing £169.99 / $199.99 RRP (Retired product) Brick link Price. £275.00 / $285.00 (USA have more for sale.)
#10227 UCS B Wing £169.99 / $199.99 RRP (Retired product) Brick link Price. £250.00 / $250.00 (again USA have way more for Sale)

    so lets do UK 1st, £274.99 + £119.99 + £275.99 + £250.00 = £919.98
    and now the USA, $349.99 + 169.99 + 285.00 + 250.00 = $1054.98

that's a lot of money to dump in one go.

oh i know i over spend,
but i dont spend it all in one go.
and i may not end up getting that 3rd pet shop.
wanting one and getting one are not the same,
no what i getting at is the price of the set's to buy in one go.
i could buy that lot but i would need 15 week's before i would have all 4 of them.
but seeing as i will not be getting older set the price mark up just, i could buy new stuff and more of it then 1 old set like the Darth Star II i could buy lot of newer set's and end up with more models and parts for MOC's.

right now i am saving for The Simpsons House.

anyhow maybe the guy has a crazy number of family members. who all gave him money for Christmas,
that how i got the money for one of my pet shops after all.
  • chrisalddinchrisalddin Member Posts: 3,041
This is a message board dedicated to collecting a toy. With that said, let's not "do the math" or start questioning how people get their money or how much they spend in one go.
    Point.

There is nothing more boring than unverifiable bragging about spending money on just about anything.

And even if it were verified, who cares?

I bought $15,000.00 worth of retail Lego product in 2015.  I declare myself Grand High Water Buffalo.  All bow in presence!

Actually, it's King Buffalo.  Which is appropriate, because I am from Buffalo.  Thus, I am a Buffaloian King Buffalo.

Purchased a Tumbler from Amazon (fortunately one day before they went out of stock). First Lego I have bought in I think 6 months.  Kind of surprised to see it about to retire after a little over a year.

the Tumbler look good, but i dont know about others but i am not a big super hero fan,
and it price is just a little to high for me,
some sets have to go on the it a nice sets, but other come 1st, but if i win the Loto then i will get it list.

I would buy a few Tumbler to resell, but as I'm not into DC, it would go against my strategy.

I was on the fence about picking up the Tumbler set but decided to buy it as I didn't want to regret not getting it at a sane price as these sets tend to have a quick spike in price right after retirement.

@chrisalddin It was one huge order, came in 4 big boxes. I had it held at my local Fedex Office so I could pick it up & not have to worry about missing a delivery or boxes sitting on my steps. I ordered it as soon as the ball dropped on New Years Day.

Once again I've found myself chuckling at a @Yodalicious comment - i used to watch a lot of Doctor Who, but lost interest after in a recent series they added boosters to the feet of the standard Cyberman design, essentially making them so close to Iron Man that it had become totally ludicrous.
