My four year old loves this theme, he has the Fortrex, Merlok's Library, Beast Master Chariot, Moltor's Lava Smasher, Ultimate Clay, Ultimate Aaron, and Ultimate Macy. He likes the colors and weapons that the characters have.
If, 31 years ago, my dad walked in the door with $200+ worth of new Lego for me to play with, I'd love it too (because I'd have so much more crap to play with than your four-year does today--hehe!).

Our kids are pretty damn lucky!

That's for sure. I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I like them almost as much as he does.

I picked up the Fortrex over the weekend, and noticed something I hadn't seen mentioned:  The stickers have the number "375 / 6075" on them-- cute little Easter Egg for the castle fans out there...

You may be rights, it may have been at Target or Barnes and Noble. I've been running to so many places lately they have all run together.
    .
Can someone post for sure if the Merlok's Library set is a target exclusive?  I recall only seeing the kings mech at wm, and I haven't seen anything anywhere about which exclusives are at which stores.

One thing is for sure: the Merlok set does not show up at any online sites when you search: target, TRU or wm.  Only on the LEGO site.  I'd just like to know since the nearest TRU and Target are an hour away.  I might want to search for this next weekend.  Thanks!

The Nexo Knights website's been updated! Some parts still aren't working, but the characters page has pics and descriptions of most of the characters, including some who are presumably going to be in the summer sets (Burnzie, Flama, Whiparella, and General Magmar).

THANK YOU for confirming :)  Now, if they would just list it on their site, I could use the "find in store" feature.  I just don't want to wait on shipping from shop at home.

Yeah, in hindsight, I'd say maybe they did have them in back, but none were out yet.  I thought that it was odd that TRU, WM, B&N had sets out but target did not.  This particular target is especially bad though when it comes to getting new items and keeping shelves stocked.

Not necessarily here but on reddit and other forums I'm seeing a lot of hate for the nexo knights. Now I've been a lego enthusiast since i was a wee lad. I loved Castle and space when i was young. But I'd always gravitate more towards space because in my mind a ship did more than a castle. For starters it flew. I always wanted a big castle but my parents thought they were too expensive.

When I got older I bought Star Wars legos mainly. I always looked at castles but couldn't justify the space they took up.

Now I know Nexo knights are aimed towards a younger audience but dang it, at 34 years old, I'm all in. I used lego points and got 50 bucks off the Fortrex, Library and Kings Mech. Love them all. I have the Fortrex set up with the library on my coffee table and when i glance at it I get this feeling of joy from it. I finally got my castle. Even if it's a Space Castle
I'm with you, my son loves this theme, but I may like it as much or more than he does.

Ninjago and Styx are in the same realm, in the show Styx is a county of Ninjago. The other ones are the Underworld, the Cursed Realm (now destroyed), the Cloud Kingdom, the Underworld, Chima, and possibly Nexo Knights. I haven't seen the show so I wouldn't know if Nexo Knights was shown as being a realm. Also, maybe some of the realms from the Lego Movie like Bricksburg and Middle Zealand are realms.
Thanks for the information, sure was helpful and it would be great to eventually see the bigger picture in Lego shows.

I'll pick ultimate Macy for my four year old whenever I come across one.  Otherwise I'll hold off on the typical 20-30% discount that I can expect in a couple weeks, or 9-12 months.  Or I might just grab some of the ultimates from wave two.
  • chrisalddinchrisalddin Member Posts: 3,041
    @Dedgecko
yep i thinking about them X% off to,
will be keeping a eye open for good savings.
still if i have the money and a nexo set is next up on the list of stuff to get, then i will pay full price at lego if there are no nexo's set's on offer at that time
  • Pumpkin_3CK5Pumpkin_3CK5 Member Posts: 805
Just finished building these two. Just add Ultimate Macy and you have the entire Royal Family... and an extra Aaron, cause that guy's doing a Batman and is just in a lot of sets lol

After watching the first two episodes, it seems the Kings mech should actually be driven by the queen considering what a weeping wimp the King was.  Kid toys and logic, what was I thinking?!

I don't know about that. A big part of any story is character development—perhaps Macy's own heroics will help inspire her father to step up to the plate and start fighting for his kingdom himself (especially if the queen does get captured, a real possibility if she continues to stand between Jestro's forces and the king himself).

The King's Mech and Infernox Captures the Queen are both excellent sets, and I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up getting both of them before the year is up. For now, though, I'm trying to hold off on buying a bunch of Nexo Knights sets until Toy Fair (when we'll learn exactly what sets we'll be getting and what minifigures they'll include), and probably until a good deal as well (like whenever the first double VIP points offer of the year will be).

    when is Toy Fair?
For a more specific answer than above, London Toy Fair, the first major toy fair of the year, starts the 20th of this month. Nuremberg Toy Fair starts on the 27th, and the New York Toy Fair starts February 13th. London Toy Fair is EXTREMELY secretive, with very few pictures even allowed—but some information will get out, and if a Lego product wins an award there then chances are we'll get pictures. Nuremberg is slightly less secretive, but is still mostly reserved for industry sources. New York Toy Fair is much more open, with plenty of reporting by both industry professionals and press ranging from mainstream news organizations to more niche outlets. Additionally, Lego is one of the co-sponsors of a new event called "Play Fair" that runs alongside New York Toy Fair for the general public. I still don't know entirely what that will entail.

Just built the Rumble Blade, and I like it more than I anticipated! Though zero of the other sets interest me, I'm looking forward to what the summer wave holds...

I'm getting so excited about these but will hang on since you guys expect discounts in the next couple of months anyway... oh well, it's more time to decide what to buy first, right?

I prefer to not to buy at MSRP because:
    1). It's a kids toy
2.) We already have a shitton of Lego in our house, space limitations, time limitations
3.) I am not independently wealthy

Also, few recent builds, if any since coming out of my DA, have impressed me.  Corners have been cut in designs and part quality, so you'll have to excuse me if I'm not rushing out to buy the latest and greatest.

A really there is no downside in waiting. The sets will still be plentiful by the time the summer wave is announced, which will allow you to plan purchases better (like if you are trying to collect all the knights, or whatever).

Then we're in the same boat. A few series 14 CMFs aside, I haven't bought new release Lego in over a decade. I'm just trying to find a happy medium between "wait for good discounts" and "wait until it's discontinued and the price soars", which I've tried and failed to do with other themes I was slower to get interested in.

How big is #70312 Lance's Mecha Horse compared to #70327 The King's Mech? Is it big enough for the King's mech to sit on it?
  • Pumpkin_3CK5Pumpkin_3CK5 Member Posts: 805
They're proportionally incompatible. Not to mention the mecha horse has a sidecar.

i dont get cartoon network (or whoever is hosting it)
so i have no idea. i only get to view stuff like this when i can find it on youtube.

  • AanchirAanchir Member Posts: 3,043
From what I've heard, Cartoon Network has a nasty habit of changing their schedule without updating their cable listings, along with other general poor management decisions. This is the first time it's happened with one of the shows I watch, though. According to Zap2It we aren't due any new Nexo Knights episodes all this month, but who knows, maybe even THAT will change. As a BZPower news reporter who's been trying to keep people informed about new episodes, the uncertainty is frustrating, to say the least.

It doesn't help that Cartoon Network's website is utter rubbish. They used to have a somewhat better website, with a proper TV schedule and well-organized pages on all their shows. Now it's focused strictly on games and streaming video, with no on-site programming schedule to be found.

does the fortrex feels small for a 100€ set?
I made it on ldd and it's like half the size of the previous king's castle.

It may be smaller in terms of area, but from building it on LDD myself, I've got to say it's much, much denser. When closed up it almost has a complete floor (as opposed to the King's Castle, which was mostly walls and little else), and it's much more technically intricate, with a very sturdy frame as is necessary for a castle that's not meant to just sit in one place.

It's probably fairer to compare the Fortrex to a similar "mobile base" set rather than a traditional castle. A good example would be the Ultra Agents Mission HQ from 2012, which is more similar in scale and density.

I picked up 70313 Moltor's Lava Smasher with some VIP points.  I think it's a great little build with a cool/simple pounding action to it.  The Moltor villain is generic enough to be thrown into any other theme as well.  Just a cool lava/magma monster bad guy who could fit into any Super Hero, Agents or fantasy theme.   But overall, I can't recommend it enough.  Even though the price is a bit above the standard $0.10 pp, I think it's got great play-value (or collection of pieces) for the money.

And while I feel a meched-out at the moment, I might just have to pick up King's Mech and Infernox sometime in the future when they go on sale.  (For the boys, of course..... cough, cough....)

still feels small in comparison. but according to bricklink they weigh almost the same. I think it may be the floor construction using a ton of pieces.

The combination came out weird, doesn't seem good at either. Wouldn't go with my existing Castle stuff.

Passed on the king mech for 35% off in a smashed box at Wal-Mart today. Still gonna wait to see if these hit 50% off or more. I don't dislike them as much as I thought I might, but definitely not a high priority.

only i wish to get my Modular Building theme/town going strong.
