Yeah the 9v trains are the best to me. I have a partially completed train layout in the basement, as well as staying a new city upstairs.

^That's the train I have right there in the first picture! (The black one.)

Is there a specific reason why those tracks in the second picture are different colors?
  • mldj77mldj77 Member Posts: 63
^ I made the elevated train tracks a different color to distinguish the various rail lines. They interchange with the level rails & each other at different points in the city. One line even travels through this building on two levels.

    ITS HAPPENED

    i ordered  #10218 , #10243 , #10246 , #10232

    received my christmas money!

also #60074, #60075, #60076, a crane and a dixie toilet will be aquired in the future to integrate in the modular layout!

originally i was planning to build a ninja fortress. but with my newly aquired sets things have changed a bit! the plan is to integrate a firetemple moc/mod into the modular buildings layout. as well as  a little pond surrounding the temple. with airjitsu temple, city of stix mod, new ninjago zeppelin, tiger widow island, airjitsu temple destiny bounty, morro dragon and master wu dragon thrown into the layout!

so looking forward to some days off from work!

what do you think of combining ninjago temples and buildings with modulars in one layout?
one could say the temple district is an attraction or something...
  • arathemisarathemis Member Posts: 604
@brumey: how much did you pay for the modulars? They are still 20%+another 10% off at a store nearby.
  • brumeybrumey Member Posts: 1,002

    no gingerbread house for me.

    and no VIP points

or is it because of the heavy server load from thousands of orders ?

I was about to do the same thing actually - that is once I have the Winter Village Sets back in their boxes so I have the space.

I was thinking along the lines of an asian / japanese themed garden. I was also going to see if #70728 & #10193 would fit in stylewise.

I have 2 copies of #70728 built into a massive temple and placed alongside my modular layout.

Also have #10193 which I have yet to build, but I think the scale is a little smaller than modulars, so maybe a little village beside the main city?

I too have 2 copies of #70728, but I've yet to build even the one. Then I'll decide if I need to crack open the 2nd to expand the universe, or I may just keep it sealed to swap or sell for something else in future.

Yes, #10193 is a little smaller than modulars, but they are probably still a little larger than the 2 huts included with the Temple, so I guess they could fit in nicely.

I'll post some pix when I've actually built it.

I like my buildings to have proper backs instead of being open, which was why I opened and pretty much used it as a parts pack. Worked pretty well I think, although I still had to buy loads of extra bricks and tiles to make it a proper whole building.

I highly recommend the Black Pearl. It's one of my favorite sets. Of course, it's appreciated so much it's almost out of reach to many. I got lucky and got a sealed one for $220 a little over a year ago (not so lucky though considering I could have bought it many times at RRP). Now it looks like sealed ones are close to $400.

I bought one a few years back for $49.98 at Target, and then sold it for a good amount, but it is the only set I wish I never sold.  I remember looking at the box and thinking, do I really want to sell this item?  I really had no need for it, the kids didn't want it, so I sold it.   Today, I still have no need for it...but regret selling it

Could've been worse - I gave away a Town Hall just before it retired.  Took me a year to re-acquire one through trade.
